Should Beserko have been the main villain in the Red Sky season?

I was wondering if maybe Beserko should have been the main villain instead of Dreg. Not that I disliked Dreg I thought he was a great villain, but Beserko had ties to Krang, had a cool machine, a cool voice, and a decent backstory. I actually thought Beserko was going to have more screen time but was taken down in one episode and rather easily. He claimed his Annihilator was more powerful than the Technodrome, but it exploded when it crashed into a river and the Technodrome withstood being incinerated falling into lava. His fight scenes could have lasted longer

I felt if he couldn't have been the main villain he could have at least appeared in more than one episode. In fact a lot of the cool villains with good backstories only appeared once. Beserko, Megavolt, Chronos ect. The Red Sky Season I thought was good, but it probably would have been much better if Beserko and those villains showed up more than once.

Not as the main villain but in a few more episodes they could have brought some individuality and more diversity in the Red Sky Seasons. Shreeka would have fitted well into the bunch as well imo seeing as she also got ties to Krang and the warlord business. There were many chances to bring up more villains as just Dregg(which was totally boring in my opinion)but they botched it up xD.

They missed out on an opportunity to have a Shreeka/Beserko team up since both of them wanted revenge against Krang. They didn't show the other villains, aside from the Rat King. Where was Leatherhead, Tempestra, Antrax, Scumbug, Slash, ect.

I actually wrote a fan-fiction episode with the two teaming up to as the episode I called, "Get Krang!". It was definitely a missed opportunity. As for the use of other characters I wonder if they were trying to use Mirage comic inspired beyond the Technodrome gang or brand-new as to why other characters did not show. I also question the episode order, why just 8? Why not 13? It is an odd episode order even if TMNT's popularity was beginning a downward trend.

I also thought Beserko was upstaged by Shredder in his only appearance and left a lot for more. It always bothered me that he just so happened to have just taken up residence in the Hall of Science that Krang decided to take residence up in just after. How did he get there and why is he is he at that particular place? That should have been answered. He also took over Shredder and Krang's operation to be the lead villain of a handheld game which shows he had the ability to carry if necessary. So yes, I posed the question as to why could Beserko not be the lead villain in the remainder of the series? He has the connection as you said to Krang and would seem to flow better with the series. Not to mention the backstory to tell and the cool look that has some resemblance to Darth Vadar. Definitely a missed opportunity. He would have been much more accepting than Dregg is.

Would I have preferred that Berserko had been the main villain instead of Dregg? Shell no. Would I have preferred Berserko have been featured instead of Titanus. Yes, absolutely. I found Titanus/H.A.V.O.C. to be pretty boring.

Is it just me or are Berserko and Megavolt basically the same character with different backstories?

Megavolt is a human whereas Berseko is an inter-dimensional alien. Megavolt has electrical powers whereas Besersko has none. They both have their own armies, but are quite different in its makeup. Both wanted revenge, but for different reasons and Beserko's revenge was just a bonus whereas Megavolt's entire reasoning was revenge. Megavolt is best left to be in just one episode while his former organization Dark Water could have served a continued purpose. Beserko as I said above needed more time to flesh out. I do not see it, but that does not mean others do.

He wasn't very interesting and one episode was enough to get rid of him considering his backstory. It wouldn't make sense for Krang and Shredder to be put aside for... the guy who designed the Technodrome. What sense would that make? And besides, many people already seem to dislike Dregg, so just imagine how they'd feel about having Beserko shoved down their throats.

Wasn't Beserko the featured villain in the last TMNT LCD handheld game released?

I liked him as a concept with the Krang backstory. But his actual execution wasn't anything special. Just so generic looking and acting in every way.

Ye it was cool to know more about Krang's past. That's something that was never very explored in the series. That and how he and Shredder met.

If Season 8 was more episodes he might have gotten a second appearance.

He helped design the technodrome and honestly it would have made much more sense for him to be the main villain than Dregg anyway since Dregg didn't have any connections with Krang.

I feel if he was fleshed out a little more he could have been really interesting. I don't even know why people dislike Dregg that much anyway since he was much more competent and dangerous than Krang and Shredder.

I doubt. He was written off. However, that cop/army dude from State of Shock and Krakus from the HAVOC arc probably would have returned later if the season had been longer.

The thing is, they obviously wanted to get rid of Krang and Shredder to give the show a new direction. So adding a villain with connections to them would still remind people of Shredder and Krang, which would make Berserko feel like a watered down version of them. A guy who simply designed the technodrome would never be taken seriously as a long-term threat.

And yes, Dregg was good, especially in the last season. But then again, he came in a time where the show was more action oriented. Shredder could be badass and competent to when the writers wanted to write him that way as well. Like in season 1, 8 and occasional episodes of other seasons.

I don't know, they were building him up to be a serious villain and he had potential to be memorable as he had a decent backstory. I could see him replacing Krang and Shredder because it makes sense since he wanted revenge. Dregg just sort of popped out of nowhere so to me, it's uninteresting to see someone who has no connections or motivation for revenge to just all of a sudden replace the two main villains. At least with Beserko you can understand how he could replace them. By taking revenge, instead of Dregg just showing up on the sidelines and steal the show.

Beserko actually looked tough and was for a little bit and even remarked by Raph as calling Shredder a "pussycat" in comparison. Not to mention he had a vehicle which he claimed was much more powerful than the Technodrome. That thought alone is scary as the Technodrome by itself is already powerful.

Instead he was defeated rather easily. They could have shown more fight scenes but this wasn't really a Beserko episode anyway despite him being a main villain, as they also had to deal with Shredder and Krang, too. He shouldn't have been beaten that easily and his vehicle which he claimed was more powerful than the Technodrome, shouldn't have exploded by crashing into the river.

Well said.

I believe fans would prefer him and it would make more sense to have Beserko in place to show continuity. It is best in all areas and keeps it fresh at the same time.

Sure, but of course they had to make him look threatening in his introduction. That's how it is with every villain. But considering the Turtles ended up defeating him easily at the end, I think it's safe that he turned out to be not so much of a threat after all.

As for the revenge bit, he wanted to take revenge on Krang. And he could never be the one putting an end to them. That would have been a slap in the face to all the TMNT fans. Only the Turtles were allowed to do that. And even if he got rid of them, why would he want to fight the Turtles? It's true he stated that he wanted to take over Earth after he got done with Krang, but not only that seemed forced but it also seemed like an extra reason to make the Turtles have a reason to fight him.

And lastly, Beserko was basically an excuse to explain why the Turtles didn't make it on time to prevent the Channel 6 building from exploding.

Why couldn't Beserko be the one to stop Krang and Shredder. The turtles never really stopped Krang and Shredder either. They were stranded in dimension x and their technodrome was damaged. You never saw them capture Krang and Shredder either. I don't know why the Turtles have to stop them.

I've seen it before where an even more powerful villain takes down the other main villains and assumes the role as "main villain" Really I don't see it as a slap in the face, but it would have shown how threatening he really was. By taking down the two main villains easily, something the Turtles struggled to do.

He wanted Earth as he was interested in conquering. He was just as bad as Krang. He wouldn't be interested in fighting the Turtles unless they got in his way. Even Krang was never that interested in destroying the Turtles like Shredder was and was more interested in ruling the Earth.

The Turtles also had a personal beef with Shredder. Unless you're saying Berserko would deal with Krang and the Turtles with Shredder later. But considering Shredder and Krang worked together for the whole series, it'd be hard for both to part ways.

The Turtles were the ones who destroyed the Technodrome, though. And then sent Shredder and Krang back to the Dimension X as well. So they did defeat them technically. What sense would it make for Beserko to be the one defeating Shredder and Krang? That's a job for the Turtles, the heroes of the show.

Unlike you, I didn't find Beserko interesting enough to become the main villain, so I didn't mind him being a one-shot villain only. I could accept more episodes with him if they were set in the past when Krang was still in Dimension X before meeting Shredder and the Turtles, though. But other than that, nah.

It's almost as if they wanted him to be the main villain but halfway through the script they said "Nah let Shredder and Krang be the main villains for a little while and we'll think of someone else." It just seemed like a lot of build up for nothing.

They defeated them, and at the same time they didn't. They weren't imprisoned, they were still in Dimension X and there was always the possibility they could have returned. Beserko defeating Krang and Shredder would have made him more threatening overall. I just wish they followed up with the build up because building him up, only to have him defeated later seemed pointless.

If not, they could have showed flashbacks of him and Krang (With his body intact) making the Technodrome. Really, Beserko has more reason to hate Krang than anyone. Krang betrayed him and booted him out of Dimension X and even destroyed him homeworld. I feel that the heroes don't always have to defeat the villains and other villains can do the same thing.
