Lord Dregg and O3 Shredder
I kind of wonder what it'd be like if they did Turtles Forever differently. Like if they used the Red Sky Version of the 1987 Turtles and the Back to the Sewers Version of the 03 Turtles or just the First Season of the 03 Turtles and had Lord Dregg work with 03 Shredder
Do you think they'd be a good team? I doub they'd want to work together but if they had to, they would work together to destroy the turtles. I could see them being a devastating team up and a serious threat. Not to mention they both had awesome voices. Would Turtles Forever be better if they did it like this. |

Perhaps, but I have to say that I watched turtles forever recently for the first time, and it's better than what everyone makes it out to be.
The original turtles's voices were awesome and threatening. |

I've thought about if Turtles Forever had featured the red sky era. But the whole point of the movie was basically about the way the original cartoon was for the majority of the show's run (seasons 1-7) compared to the more serious nature of the 4Kids series. So having the characters more in sync with each other wouldn't have really made a whole lot of sense for what the whole point of the movie was supposed to be.

It's strange the 87 toon started goofy and became serious and the 4kids one started serious and became goofy. |

I don't think it would have went well.
Dregg would betray anyone to destroy the turtles. |

I don't think Dregg and 03 Shredder would team up. They would probably be at war with each other.
I thought Turtles Forever was a great movie anyway. There were a few moments in the film that I didn't like, but it's a fun movie to watch. It gets better on subsequent rewatches, in my opinion. I did wonder a while ago why Turtles Forever didn't use some elements from the Red Sky seasons. I realised that the tone of the OT in the movie was based on the goofier mid seasons like three and four. It was in those seasons that the cartoon was at the height of its popularity, so it would make little sense to use elements from red sky when the show was in decline. A lot of people wouldn't have recognised Dregg and the more serious tone would have been alien to them. It's the same reason why the tone of the 2003 series was based on the serious first five seasons even though the show became a bit goofy in the last two seasons.

If they teamed up, they'd be unstoppable.

I'd see the alliance to be temporary at least and THEN they'd wage war against each other, which would be something to see if they fought each other and the Turtles would be caught in the middle. I did like Turtles Forever and I know the Red Sky seasons aren't as well known but it's a shame they didn't mention Dregg who was the main villain for two seasons. More surprisingly they didn't show General Tragg or any Rock Soldiers. I figured if they would do a Turtles crossover, they'd use the 2 most competent villains. Dregg from the 87 toon and Shredder from the 03 toon. You can imagine how fearsome they'd be if they did team up. |

I just feel Dregg has been pushed aside unfairly and it seems mostly it's because he wasn't Shredder or Krang.. He was one of, if not, the most dangerous enemy the 87 turtles ever fought and I felt he deserved more credit. He's arguably the most competent villain in the 87 toon and 03 Shredder is depicted as the most competent so I always wondered how devastating a team up like that would be. Esepcially if 03 Shredder had that suit that made him into a giant and Dregg had the morphing suit when he absorbed those 5 aliens' super powers. |

They by no mean had a relationship in the episode "Cyber-Turtles". However, I don't think it was a coincidence that the writers paired the two up for the episode.

I guess there was no way they could use Dregg in Turtles Forever, because by the time Dregg was around, the Technodrome was destroyed and we see the Technodrome in Turtles Forever so I guess it was set in Season 3 or 4. Still it'd be nice to see Dregg and it's kind of hard to ignore him since he wasn't an obscure villain, he was the main villain for 2 seasons after all.
I just figured if they wanted to turn up the threat level they would have Lord Dregg and 03 Shredder since both were threatening and competent. |
