Michelangelo Alone

We have plenty of Stories where Raph and Leo go it alone for extended periods of time. Sometimes Donnie but never really estranged (save Mirage)

What do you imagine Mikey would be like on his own? IDW seems to have him hanging with the Mutanimals, I wonder if you guys have any idea's on where you would put Mikey and why?

You're forgetting that Michelangelo joined the Triceraton army & went ham on the opposing forces in vol. 4

Actually, Mirage has a decent chunk of standalone stories for him, but yeah, his outer space stuff is a definite prolonged period of time. He has no closure, even.

I get the impression from the Michealangelo One Shot from Mirage that Mike often went out on his own, just wandering the city. Especially in the winter time when he could conceal himself under big clothing.

Yeah, all four Turtles get quite a lot of "alone" time.

Mikey had a couple of solo "Klunk" adventures (Michelangelo Micro Issue #1 and Tales Vol 2 Issue #9); the whole Seri/Styracodon/Triceraton saga from Volume 4; babysitting Shadow and dating Sarah (Volume 3)...

Basically, when Leo, Don, or Raph go off on their own, it's always very much in vein with a part of their normal struggles (Leo and spirituality, Don and science/technology, Raph and fighting/Foot Clan)...

But when Michelangelo goes off on his own, he's pursuing human activities, desperately wishing for a normal life. Writing, dating, getting a job, falling in love, falling out of love, adopting a pet, mourning the death of a pet.

Michelangelo isn't always my favorite Turtle; but when he is, it's not because he's funny and goofy--it's because he's human and vulnerable, wanting to connect with our kind even though he never really can.

The thing with Michelangelo is that he usually can play the goofball with the brothers, but he also has the potential to do so much more. In the new cartoon, he was trapped in Dimension X, and garnered mad skills, in the 4Kids version SaiNW Mikey was kicking butt and taking names while he was alone, Volume 4 Mikey was teaming up with the Triceratons...I think it's safe to say, whenever he doesn't have his brothers around to play the straight men, Mikey can really shine.

In my fanfics, I picture Mikey as a musician & Turtle Titan.

He's Ex-Cel Dude's crime fightin partner & lifetime drummer/tympanist. When he isn't drumming, Mikey also plays guitar, vibes, organ & sings (Johnny takes over on the drums).
