This thread, man ...

I don't remember. Will someone tell me?

Since this thread was getting off-topic, I decided to change the title.

When I saw the thread title I thought you were referring to male fans of the show.

Since I was a kid when the original toon was airing, I saw 80's April as more of a mother figure. I was way too young to even think about girls that way as a 4-5 year old.

Plus she's old. OT April was 28 years old, which is now young to us, but back then a 28 year old was ancient.

haha, yeah I never saw April as anything but an adult as a kid but I was a child anyone who wasn't my age was ancient, even teenagers seemed so old to me. I think my first cartoon crush was Bulma from Dragon Ball (before Z) but by then I was much older and Bulma was in her teens. Not sure I would've crushed on OT April if I had been older when I first started watching the OT though. In fact any sexualization OT April in my mind is because of all the fanart/cosplay that use her as a sex symbol. It's not like say Princess Leia that I never cared for her as a kid but as I grew up I could now see that she was attracive, then again she wasn't a cartoon so maybe not a good example.

Wow, no April came along just as I hit that hormonal age. I had... thoughts... about her even back then, and this was way before there was internet or rule 34 or whatever (well who knows, I bet rule 34 existed back then in some shape or form, we just didn't have the internet to make it public).

I don't know, back in the day most of us pre-high schoolers used to talk stuff on the hottest celebs and so forth of our time ( I mean, we didn't wanna tap Madonna back in her day). They didn't seem 'ancient' to us. The girls in our own classroom were still boring and 'icky' because they didn't 'blossom' til high school.

Well this was before the anime craze hit the U.S., not all people of today have anime waifu's and talk about which girl they like best. It doesn't help matters Japan is in a moe lolicon idol craze lately.

Most anime now is nothing but shameless fanservice. Remember how classic anime put plot first and fanservice secondary? Now its the exact opposite.

So did I... so did I. Thought we were reversing things for a change.

Yeah, since Nick section... just the two? I suppose there could be unknowns at her high school who like her.

Unless it really was being asked about fans. In that case, beats me, no idea how popular Nick April is with the kiddies. Can't say I've seen too much to suggest she's overly popular in that regard, but maybe boys are just quieter about cartoon crushes in the 'age of the internet.' (The young ladies who are Turtle fans... ah, just takes you back, warms the heart a little. lol)

eh... I'm pretty sure 80's April had tons of fans that wanted to boing her back in the day, and before then Teela, She Ra and Cheetara, though I do have to admit, that was before I hit puberty though. In a certain way, all the times April bent over or showed cleavage, or had most if not the whole screen be basically a butt-shot, 80's April did provide a bit of fan service, even back then.

Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure many people wanted to 'show some love' to the Baroness as well, and again, this was waaaaaaay before the mainstream anime era.

Your hatred towards anime is astounding there Cubey-Wubey.

Do you see what anime is like nowadays? Virtually every big show is cute girls doing cute things, harem shows, lolicon shows, yuri pandering, etc.

It's pretty much what you'd expect on a fandom forum, unfortunately.

One dude who rants & raves about unrelated media with a slightly racist tinge, another who wants to have sex with cartoons...

Maybe you need to stay away from those kinds of anime. I don't see none of that when I'm watching Attack on Titan, Dragonball Super, Parasyte and Psycho-Pass. In fact I don't the kiddy anime shows they put on 4kids or whatever non-cable shows have any of those things you just mentioned.

Do you live your life surrounding yourself by stereotypes of everything?

I don't watch any of these fanservice shows, but I'm aware of them since I see people constantly talk about them and post pictures/animated gifs from episodes so I see what happens in them.

Look up Valkyrie Drive: Mermaid, a series that just started. And you'll see the current state of anime is like softcore porn.

Eh, no thanks. That anime harem stuff never got my attention. The closest I got to was Ranma 1/2 and Oh My Goddess. Ranma still had martial arts and silly situations, and OMG had silly situations and whatnot, so the fanservice is forgettable.

Ok, Teela ok, I loved Teela, She Ra, well I loved Teela even more lol. Cheetrara was a cat lol.

I had a crush on 1987 April also. Funny about the whole screen being a butt shot. I just got too season 4 as of right now(Had to take a break, got the complete Bravestarr and Galaxy Rangers series sets, so I finish theses 2 before going back to OT Turtles lol.)
But when Leo and I think Mike got turn into little kids and being hunted by Shredder and gang and some Alien hunter, and April had to babysit, and they got into her printer paper work or something, April grabs them by the arms and walks out the door with the kid turtles, with April's booty covering the WHOLE screen for a while. April was pretty much fan service for a good part of the show.
I think Princess Ariel was my number 1 crush though, No not Disney's Ariel, I talking about the cool one from Thundarr that kick so much butt lol.

Anyway...

After watching previous episodes, I realized both the Mutagen Man and Mondo Gecko had fallen in love with(and had a crush on) April. They were clearly interested in her.
