TMNT post-Bay triliogy

You know, I've been think about what could happen to TMNT once the bay Trilogy is done, and you know what I'd like to see? Finish the Teilight off with third movie with Krang, the Technodrome, rock soldiers and a a reincarnation origin retcon, then start doing unconnected films that adapt certain TMNT stories and characters. Change creative teams and revamp the designs, and make no references to the 1st trilogy.

How about a story in space with the Triceritons and the Neutrino federation fighting over the Fugitoid? A conspiracy story with Bishop hunting the turtles? Baxter (if he survives the Bay trilogy) vs. the Rat King with the turtles caught in the middle? Leatherhead and old hob leading a mutant revolt against humanity, and the Turtles caught in the middle? A Renet time traveling story vs Savante Romero? A loose adaptation of 'The river' using Whyrm instead of bloodsicker?

This is an opportunity to tell stories that would look awesome in live action ,what should be done with this when the time comes?

IDW is the best version of TMNT

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.

So...

Would this still be a Platinum Dunes production? If not this should be in the regular movie discussion.

I could see this still being PD PROVIDED bay going hands-off, and a creative team with a turtle passion is put in charge.

All of your ideas are great, if unrealistic. Bay and PD will continue to maintain an iron grip on steering the ship of the TMNT movie franchise until it eventually crashes and burns.

Unlike Spiderman, X-Men, or Fantastic Four, there is no rival film studio waiting to snatch up the film rights to the TMNT.

Is this just another one of those "What would you want from a re-boot?" threads?

First film: Turtles find April cornered by Mousers while exploring the sewer. They save her, brief origin spiel, etc. Set up Baxter as the main villain with him being funded by a rich antique collector who has found these rats are all up in his biz (like warehouses full of Japanese artifacts & sh*t). These vermin are of course the loyal minions of The Rat King, & obviously the investor is Saki. April's research gives the TMNT some insight as to what's going on, they think there's probably more to it. The turtles follow the trail of rats, discover these warehouses are on some black market valuables sh*t & guarded by ninjas, thus leading up to the boss man's identity being revealed. Blah blah blah. While they're doing that Rat King has a run in with Splinter and it's a close call but ultimately Daddy Rat bests him & it's implied that he too can hold power over the rats to an extent, + the mousers are bad news for them both, so they agree to a truce. Splinter allows RK to keep his quarters in the sewer so long as he doesn't cause trouble or bring harm to people, & in exchange, RK gives them an in to Shredder's facility or whatever. Big fight, turtles get roughed up mad bad but more or less come out victorious. Shredder doesn't give a damn by the end of it as it's revealed he finally found what he was looking for anyway, the time scepter. No better way to defeat your enemies than to prevent them from ever having been born, I guess!

Second film: Dinosaur sightings reported in Manhattan, as published by those tacky wacky tabloids full of nonsense. Introduce Casey Jones, a vigilante who has a run in with Raph, he was beating up some thugs while out for a bounty (rewarded for catching said "dinosaurs"). Michelangelo goes off in the sewer for one reason or another & encounters Leatherhead. Gets his shell whooped. Long story short, the turtles figure out he's the "dinosaur" everyone's talking aobut, they brawl & eventually make peace with him, but the reports continue. There legit is a dinosaur n the city. Somebody's been messing with time & made a few booboos along the way, Baxter, at the behest of Saki. He's built a machine around the scepter, with it being connected to a platform or portal that can take you back. Took him a few tries to understand the science of the scepter (hence this thing getting loose in NYC, we can assume it got loose at the lab, took out a few guys, & made it's way into the streets) but he eventually finds the right time period- feudal Japan. Shredder's tryna go back in time & rebuild the clan in his image, or undo the cleansing of it, take over, kill yoshi, whatever. Leatherhead is who'd be keeping the turtles busy while this was going on, before they realized he was an alright dude. Rat King, whose pets watch over the city, has an idea of what's going on with The Foot & fills in Splinter, who tells the boys. Once all that's squared away the turtles get into the facility (with Leatherhead as the battering ram) in the hopes they can go back & stop Shredder but they have a run in with the Elite Guards, who were the hired muscle of Saki's ancestors, brought back to modern NY as his regular Foot Soldiers were not quite doing the trick. Meanwhile, Casey & April are left tryna lasso a damn dinosaur nearby. Fights, conflict, blah blah blah. Casey busts into the joint riding the dinosaur (raptor?) like a cowboy & then that thing is attacking both the good & bad guys, ultimately taking out or at least scaring off the Elite Guards. They set the machine to whatever the hell era it's from but it puts up too much of a fight to get in before it's too late. Realizing he poses far too great a threat to society with that feral monster side of him, Leatherhead opts to tackle the raptor onto the platform & go back in time with it. He'll manage, he can be the king of reptiles! Casey & April hold off Baxter & his lackeys so that the turtles can hit the switch & bring Shredder back, they do, & another classic duel is had. He gets his ass kicked this time, though, & in rage, he tries to send them all into some sorta black hole, but it just ends up de-materializing him entirely. The turtles snatch the scepter, call the cops, & dip out. Back at the sewer lair, the turtles are kicking back & watching the tube, a news report comes on, archaeologists in the area discovered the remains of the biggest alligator in recorded history right there in NY, & they're given a place of honor in the Museum Of Natural History. Bittersweet stuff, but they know he was runnin' sh*t back in the dinosaur age, so they're cool with it. Cap the film off with Splinter up late in his room as the turtles sleep, looking into the scepter. He does some kinda funky Japanese stuff and we're shown a vision within it, of Yoshi naming him & caring for him, playing, feeding, etc, followed by another vision that mimics it, however this time it is Splinter, with the young turtles. He then drops it down a big pipe & we hear it shatter. He blows out his candle, BOOM, credits roll.

After all that, I wouldn't even need a third movie.

But I think a Good Genes arc of sorts would make for a cool way to wrap up a trilogy.

*sigh* you're probably right. Paramount would need to ditch PD, and they'd never do that. My whole thing is I want to see something new and exciting after the current triliogy is done, anything but a remake of TMNT 1990.

Who says it won't be a sh*tbunch of movies like the Transformers movie?
They're going to ride this train until it derails and even after that they won't get rid of the rights.

No no no no no, this is not a reboot thread, this is looking any any ideas OTHER than a retread of the first stories. No shredder, no first meeting April or Casey, something NEW.

You're right, but technically it's Paramount that owns TMNT, and technically they could ditch P.D., and go with another studio.

I said technically, you're absolutely right they never do it.

That wasn't even remotely clear in your opening post. But whatever, I stand by wanting what I wrote, regardless.

Well, I like it's a DIFFERENT approach to the origin and 1st meetings, instead of a 1990 retread. I like you brought in characters and concepts from outside the original volume one stories, so we don't have to wait for future sequels to see them
