why did jim cummings not voice leatherhead in season 7

i read he was the voice of shredder for a while, and also was doomquest... so why did he get scared and not voice leatherhead back in season 7 in night of the rogues... i was pretty sad as a kid watching that show and not hearing all the BY GUMBO and I GAURANTEEE those were some great catch phrases and i think the only catch phrases from any turtle villian throughout the series.

jim cummings you are the man!

I don't know why Jim Cummings didn't voice Leatherhead in season 7. Maybe he was doing other voice work at the time? I didn't notice any difference in Leatherhead's voice, though, when I was a kid, so I wasn't bothered. His different voices sound similar to me anyway. I didn't notice much difference when I rewatched Night of the Rogues sometime ago.

the newer leatherhead i think was done by master splinters voice.. it was much slower and not as enjoyable fast high pitched like the other episodes.

THIS BE LIKE TAKING GUMBO FROM A BABY>.. he had so many great lines.

He was definitely not "scared", I'm sure he was just too busy at the time. Dude has done a loooooot of work over the years, but especially at that very time. If not an issue of availability, maybe he raised his prices & they weren't feeling it.

I doubt he raised his asking price since he would voice both Beserko and Doomquest later on. I agree on the best guess being he was not available. Yes, it was Peter Renaday voicing Leatherhead in his 4th and final appearance. Renaday also voiced Chrome Dome since James Avery who voiced him had left the series that season.

Like one poster said. He was voicing other characters at the time. The one big was Robotnik from the ABC network version of Sonic The Hedgehog which also came on in 1993. Rob Paulsen was the voice of the French talking character Antoine in the same series.

Leatherhead only appeared in four episodes total. So it was natural for him to want to say no to a reduced role due to the sheer number of extra villains in the episode. You can't compare this to James Avery who coincidentally stopped voicing Shredder in this episode due to his work on "Fresh Prince". Actors are busy so their priorities change. It happens.

Darkwing Duck and Bonkers were both very popular at the time, so I'm willing to bet he was preoccupied playing both those roles for Disney.
