neca bootlegs

This may be a dumb question but what is the visual differentiator for the neca tmnt bootlegs. I don't know which ones I see on the net are bootlegs and which ones aren't. Are the bootlegged ones the ones with multi colored mask or does it depend on the packaging? I feel like its the multi colored mask thing but you guys help me out and tell me the difference

Usually where it ships from is a huge clue. Hong Kong, China, etc... Also if the price is super low. Some sellers will be up front in the description and tell you they are the "real Necas" or "authentic, not bootlegs".

Bootlegs comes in the same variants as the original NECA figures, red masks and B/W, as well as multicolored (there is no such thing as a legit NECA release with multi-colored masks). At this point, most Tube packaged NECA Turtles on eBay are bootlegs as that packaging are easiest to fake, and the original tube Turtles didn't come with the extra accessories like the clamshells.

Some bootlegs lacks the ab-crunch and waist swivel, and have a noticeable different color on the plastron and carapace

usually if its in the range of 50.00 for all 4 chances are they are bootlegs paying 200+ would be the real ones. also the tube design packaging is a give away, most of the time i just assume its a bootleg with those figures and gave up on finding the real ones. luckily i have a set of the black and white ones in box i got a long time ago

Wait! There were bootleg Black & White figures? Crap. Mine must be bootleg... Crap crap crap. I guess it's fine... It's been so long and I opened the busted box anyways.

No, clearly not. The only bootlegs in black and white are absolutely easy to differniate from the original black and white ones and look really worse compared to the originals. Colors heavily off (more black than white), different accessories, production faults and so on. Onces you seen the original ones - even on picture - it's simple to tell wether or not the ones you are in possession of are. Don't worry at all also because the legit ones came in a 4-pack-set only.

It could be possible for mine to still be bootleg.. They look more like someone bleached a regular set than anything else. And Leo's hand was not snapped together when I got it. Box had been opened and pretty banged up. But again, no big deal at this point. It's been years. Lol

Weird, never seen a b&w bootlegs, not even here in latin america which i think is bootleg paradise region.

I've never seen any Black and White Bootlegs. Must be quite rare to pop up on eBay, as I've never seen them on any websites.
