I remember being very annoyed that I accidentally recorded the wrong channel that night, and taped Golden Girls instead of TMNT. VCRs! This wouldn't have happened with DVR...

I remember back in those days I'd record the episodes while watching them and I'd git pause during the commercial breaks. The annoying thing was that sometimes I'd hit pause too soon or too late so either dialogue got cut off or there was a small bit of commercial.

The Big Cufflink Caper also aired in primetime, opposite the first episode of Tiny Toons, "The Looney Beginning".

from here.

I remember that night. My mom had taped it for me because we went to Chuck E Cheese (at the time it was called Showbiz Pizza) that night. My favorite thing to do there was to play the original arcade game. At the time it hadn't come out for Nintendo yet.

primetime means in the primetime that people watch tv usually like 7-9pm

the only kid primetime i remember is the pwoer rangers season 2 w/ lord zedd which definitely was a great call for primetime

the xmen was also comboed with it. but it was okay not too great.. but the Lord Zedd FREEZING THE ZORDS WAS SUPER COOL TO WATCH WHEN 10 years old!

I absolutely loved when Planet of the Turtleoids aired on primetime. I remember my parents recording it for me as we went to the grocery store that night and I watched it as soon as we got home. It felt like such an event back then. So does anyone remember the date when they aired The Big Cufflink Caper on primetime by chance?

Does anybody know of a list of cartoons that normally were shown during the day but aired as specials at prime time. I'd like to see what made it. I know that this story and Real Ghostbusters Season 5 Halloween Special made it but interested to know what others.

I never had that problem because the channel I watched always showed it's children's programming logotype when the commercial break would begin and end.

yeah, I remember Turtleloids and the Cufflink Caper airing on prime time and getting to watch them. Cufflink was weird because it was a normal episode and basically one half of what would be the CBS 2-episode format. Turtleloids made more sense since it was an hour long. I liked how even April said 'hoo boy... this is going to be a looong episode...'
