Kevin is very busy with his projects over at Heavy Metal. He also sold his share of the TMNT franchise to Peter Laird, which makes Peter the sole owner. Though, I believe Peter and Kevin haven't ruled out the possibility of one last team-up in the future...

Things change and life goes on, but I have to admit that I do miss Kevin's influence in the new Mirage TMNT comic. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy what Peter and Jim have been doing quite a bit, but I do wish there was just a little more action and @$$-kickin'. It seems that Kevin was a little more into the whole action bit than Peter is.
I miss the days when the guys—especially Leo and Raph—showed their ability to seriously whoop-up on some bad guys a little more often than they do now. I miss seeing Leo and Raph use their weapons to dispatch the less-than-respectable when necessary and the blood that would accompany the process. I'm not necessarily what you might call a gore and violence freak, but they are ninja, after all.

I believe this is one of the topics in the FAQ section too.
