A Language?

The other day my sister told me that some "geeks" made a language for Lord of the Rings. I'm not sure if it was Dwarfs or Elfs or something else. I didn't ask her much about it because then she would have thought I was a geek or something. Anyway, I started thinking about it and thought that would be kind of fun.

Maybe we could make the Utrom language or something related to TMNT. We could use examples from the show and comic books we've heard to make it. This might be a stupid idea, I don't know. It was just something I had on my mind.

Actually, Tolkien had created the elven language for LotR, and the runes the dwarves used already were in existance. The fans of LotR go about learning and perfecting it thereafter.

Does make ya wonder if Laird sat down an scripted out the Utrom language to create extent though. As if, knowing the whole alphabet and which character means what.

It does happne for soem that the language isn't explore by the creators though, One time I wondered if the Transformer languge, cybertronian, was plotted out. The fans said there wasn't anything created for the Gen1 universe. But a handful of guys had perfected a different alphabet used in Beast Wars. (Yes.. rabid TF fans are just as bad as Trekkies... thank goodness I refuse to be that geeky!)

If anone wants to figure out the Utromian... be my guest! I'd prolly ask Laird if ha had done anything about it first, though. But since I since am STILL trying to learn the Korean language.. I have to pass on this one.

Well, I guess no one is interested. This would have been fun I think, but that might be because of some of the boring topics of late. ( the ones comparing all of the Turtle elements).

I'm also a one sided fan, who only likes Ninja Turtles. (well I like watching the movies of some new stuff, but wouldn't buy merchandise or go on another forum)

If I remember correctly, Utroms have always spoken English.

Okay.. after seing today's ep, it does look like they just use gibberish.

Cause it looks like the same kind of mixed up Asian/Middle East symbols you see in Star Wars, or TF Cybertronian, or any other generic space show.

Wouldn't it be cool to organize all of it and make Hoonibian or something?

well, Utroms have a very slang heavy dialect of English... Almost as bad as cockney... which to some people is a different language itself...

Well what language would be a good one ( in the TMNT universe) to think out and elaborate upon? Any suggestions?

No, for real, we should make a language that only a person who is a fan would know; like Hoonibian or something (suggestions?). The language could have it's own grammatical system and not be another English with different letters and sounds. We could make it correct by combing info from various TMNT sources and even Peter Laird.

please..

Ha, you so funny! Actually I am not really a geek at school at all. I play a lot of sports and pretty dang good at them too. I am an excellent snowboarder, tennis player, soccer player, and can play any other sport as well. If my friends ever knew I went on the internet and did this I wouldn't have friends any more. They hardly know I even like the Turtles. This is also the only forum I do (other than a few posts at Mikey's), and I still am a slow typer and have poor computer skills ( a geek trait).

So I would not consider myself a geek, but a devoted fan of the Turtles who wants something constructive to do on this forum rather than argue.

Was JRR Tolkiens Elf language a "geek code." How old are you? You have no right bringing that geed crap on here. Man I'm pissed right now! This day was already going bad enough, and then I come on here to relax!

(Highschoolers! )

SR, dude... we're not trying to start an argument with ya. I'm sure Buslady was just teasing you in a kind manner. Caue like, when you get to be our age, all that about classification crap geeks and jocks and preps and goths don't even matter!

As for your geek-o-phobia, we need to do something about that.
Cause like.. dood, geeks are cool! You just don't realize it. We make things like the TMNT, video games, cool special effects movies, and forums like this possible. Yeah....

Be one with your geekiness, SR dooood, and let your creative juices flow. I wanna see what kind of language you can whip up. Cause like... designing conceptual robot designs is more my thing.

Thanks Horse Techie, I was having a bad day yesterday and had to restrain myself from attacking the computer, or write something worse to Bus Lady. A lot of that was just stuff spilling out of my mind, so it didn't make much sense.

Elfish is geek language To Tolkien geeks... I have a friend who speaks it fluently, and wrote me a note in one... then made me translate it. Grr. I think I'll stick to Spanish.

But a TMNT language would be pretty nifty. You could put it on T-Shirts on a certain day, then we'd go out and see who's wearing them, then greet each other with the language. We can say it's the Tongue of our Foreturtles (Four turtles?)

... mmm... too late. Must see movie tomorrow... gnarlly...

I say...

that we all just come together and make a hybrid sort of talk or language, that only people who are fans (or on this forum, whatever comes first) would know. I mean, we don't have to exactly follow an "example" from the comics or shows or anything (unless we want to). But we are just as capable to come up with our 'own" words and phrases to code name for say the Turtles' names, villians, etc etc.

Or is that a bad idea? I'll shut it now! LOL

Sounds good to me. If we had some more support this could be a good project for the members of this forum.

I agree...

I feel it would be an awesome addition to the forums, and also something fun and original that the people on the forums can use to chat with each other. I'm behind the project 100%.
