Apparently SOMBODY at Gibson guitars is a big TMNT fan...

Okay, first for those who don't know: Gibson guitars is a USA made brand who have been around since the late 19'th century.

In the early 1950's they got an endorsement deal with recording artist and enginier Les Paul. Look the guy up, he's extremely legit, not just in his playing but also in inventing multitrack recording, he recorded entire albums at home and by himself. Predating everybody who does so with their smart phones by 70 years!

The Les Paul Model is still in production.

Anyway, quickly realizing that Les Paul's name would not just attract pro-level players but also beginners, Gibson came up with a Les Paul model which was more simplified in both specs and appearence: The Les Paul Special.

But, budget guitar or not, the Special got some very famous players picking it up during the sixties and beyond. Among them Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones, John Lennon and Bob Marley.

Okay then, enough history, what am I getting to?

Well, this week in Gibson's Mod shop where they sell reject guitars which they doll up a little, four of those entry level Les Paul Specials turned up with a TMNT vibe. Here they are.
