Paying too much at the pump? It's the perfect time to go green, buy an electric car
According to the White House, high gas prices are all Russia's fault and are actually a good thing.

The stupidity of these fools is truly astounding! They believe that if everyone gets an EV it will help cure our “climate crisis?” I find that hilarious considering all of the fossil fuels it will require to manufacture the vehicles themselves along with the fact that 60% of our electrical energy is generated in America by fossil fuel use.
So in essence, if everyone that has an EV and of course would be charging them all the time, wouldn’t that create a need for massively increased fossil fuel use? Never mind the fact that our power grids would need to be overhauled to handle it and where do all the no longer useful batteries these EV’s have go? What a joke! |

Article doesn't mention Russia, and skipped thorough the video and didn't find it, at what time is that at? Or did you just like some guy's opinion piece because he is against electric vehicles because, as his bio states, "he is the Editor of Shale Magazine and co-host of In The Oil Patch Radio" and therefor has an obvious pro-oil bias and personal interests to speak against electric and villainize it for you.
Prices were already an issue, but the war is obviously behind the recent fast spike. Though I'd be betting consumer response also plays a big role. Once I saw the local average hitting $3.79 a couple week ago I topped off my tank before people made a rush to get gas and drive up it higher. Think we hit around the $4.30 range. But prices are also dropping back down a little now. At least here it is the past couple of days. Hopefully it will be improving a little in coming months. The 2 year oil production cuts OPEC made in deals with Trump supposedly are ending next month. (Or should we just pretend that cuts to production doesn't increase demand and raise costs?) As for conversation about electric vehicles on their own... Eh. I don't have anything against them, but I have no interest. If my Wrangler someday a long, long time from now can no longer be patched up and I'm forced to buy new wheels then at that point that is what might be the primary option out there. For now... I intend on keeping my Jeep on the road and hopefully their popularity and the availability of parts for older models will remain. Though the people who got stuck on I-95 in that snowstorm this winter raised a good point. Someone can try to bring you a gas can to put more gas in your vehicle to keep warm or get it restarted to finally get it out of there, but fully electric presents an issue once its dead... They may not be as good of an option for the northern half of the nation. |

Going to have no choice here at some point as production of fuel cars will stop (can't remember what year). I'm told electric cars cost a lot more to buy, just like the electric pump heating systems will when we have to have those instead of a gas boiler.

No time soon. The people having to decide whether gas or food this week certainly don't have an extra $50,000 (no, not even after trading in their 1993 Camry for $500) to get an electric car that won't start in the winter.

Their leader is a puppet installed by Obama. He is not the hero MSM makes him out to be but an actor who WANTS us to get involved by starting a full blown WW3. And its not America's problem... Biden being weak caused this conflict. Its not like he is strong enough to stop it. Seen the video of Ukraine's guy dancing for some music video?

I've been considering selling my ZL1 - I'd like to get 58k for it which is just under blue book. My original plan was to trade both it and my daily driver next year and go back to one car. I wanted to get the new Blazer EV or Equinox EV (haven't decided).
But then I got to thinking that if I could sell the ZL1 now I could practically pay the mortgage off on one of my properties and be free and clear on that. That Zl1 is literally the best, most capable powerhouse, all-around Camaro manufactured in Chevy history but I can only imagine how tough a private sale of that car would be in this current market. The online quoters from all of the normal places - Carmax, Carvana, etc all want to buy it for 49k so that they can sell it for Blue Book. So basically unless I sell it privately I might as well keep it for the EV trade in 2023 and at least get the tax credit on the trade rather than taking less now and paying tax on the sale and still not having enough to clear that property mortgage. |

Most of the time the 'twisted propaganda' is pretty much spoilers nowadays.

You act as if the Democrats actually allow the Republicans to do anything. Can't even make a bill to protect children from grooming without them throwing a **** fit and trying to cancel everyone in sight.

Just realized that mrmaczaps writes like this is Angry Mad Libs (or should that be Angry Mad Cons?) and he just always fills in his favorite go-to insults every time. They don't make sense to throw in there, but hey, he enjoys how it sounds.

Well, I agree with the "Biden being weak caused this conflict" piece, though it's more like "Biden being weak rolled out the red carpet for Putin in Ukraine" and not caused it specifically. In that a combination of our forced, super weak and rushed exit in Afghanistan even leaving our own citizens behind and Biden promising the press that "as long as it's only a minor incursion by Putin we won't do anything" before Putin did anything at all is absolutely is a huge motivating factor in the invasion beginning. Putin was always going to do it eventually... but this is the reason it happened when it did.
