A question about Krang's status as a disembodied brain.

If Krang is a disembodied brain, does that mean his species has eyes and a mouth directly attached to the brain? Like not even through nerves or that they're all inside a skull, but that the eyes and mouth are directly inside the brain? And if the mouth is inside the brain, that would mean food would have to pass directly into the brain?

I know most versions of Krang are not disembodied brains, just Utroms and there is at least one episode that just shows his species to be Utroms/Utrom-like, but there is at least one episode where it is made absolutely clear that he's the disembodied brain of a larger creature.

And even in that episode, Krang is basically a head, not the brain of a creature.

Another sketch of Krang's real body, made by Mirage for possible Playmates toy, if I am not mistaking, shows Krang basically being a head attached to its body.


So, I guess, they just mean, that Krang is a "head", not a literal "brain" of a creature.

In general, there are a lot of questions about his biology: not only "how or why brain has a mouth?", but, also, does it mean that Krang needs to eat, how does he breaths, e.t.c.

My personal headcanon for Krang (and this is before I ever heard of the Mirage comics and Utroms and whatnot) was that he used to be a humanoid creature that sorta resembles a flesh and blood version of his android body (which would explain why he chose such a design to begin with), and when he was banished, they turned him into Krang's current form with some sort of transformation device, which they would assume would now be harmless and defenseless.

Here are the issues:

*Hot Rodding Teenagers from Dimension X (airdate: 31 December 1987): Krang claims to Traag he lost his body when being banished from Dimension X.

*Four Musketurtles (airdate: 1989): Krang and other members of his species from Dimension X are seen together in the flashback scenes, sending the Impervium sample to Earth.

*Invasion of the Krangazoids (airdate: 1993): The Krang clones grow bodies on thieir own.

*Transdimensional Turtles (airdate: 26 March 2016): Krang appears a Kraang, also indicating that the Fred Wolf and Nickelodeon cartoons share the same Dimension X.

Personally I think IDW's creative decision regarding the status of Krang's alien species is best; they evolved from parasites that take-over larger lifeforms
