Mirage Turtles using the Playmates classic 6 inch look

Dang... I bought those Stranger Things 2-packs for nothing, then. Cuz I don't even care about Stranger Things and got stuck with figures of characters I know nothing about. If I had waited, I could be getting these guys and save half the price AND also get some cool sewer lid stands. Story of my life, I guess.

EDIT: Actually, wait, Wal-Mart exclusive...? Nevermind, then. These probably won't be easy to get.

Same, lol. The Stranger Things figures are great (in a stylized kinda way) and I like the show, but I don't care about them or recreating scenes from the show.

They might not be Walmart Exclusive cause they don't have the only at Walmart sticker on the box. Walmart is the first to put them up for pre-order

I'm not sure if these were announced before, but this is the first I'm hearing of them. I might pick them up if I see them in store, but I probably won't go out of my way to look for them. These definitely look better than those classic collection repaints from a year or two back, though.

They are the best representation of the Mirage turtles that Playmates have done but all the Mirage figures from different companies save for the excellent Return to New York inspired NECA ones are based on the early Eastman and Laird look. That's fine and all but I'd love a set that goes for the way Peter and Kevin drew them as their art developed and they 'finalised' their look.

Years later I'm still upset we didn't get these.

These capture what the comic turtles looked like 90% of the time perfectly.

I'm pretty sure they did these already. These are either the "comic book day" ones that they already re released in color as single packs and they are doing it again, or the ones from the Stranger Things 2 packs from last year that they are releasing as single packs

say what you will but these are easily some of playmates' best work in terms of making a modern action figure.

They're definitely the ones from the Stranger Things 2-packs. I know since I own those. They're a completely different sculpt than the "Comic Book Day" ones, and as 2012Mikey mentioned, they're much better, too. Mostly because these are actually sculpted to look like the comics, as opposed to just taking the sculpts from their cartoon inspired 6-inch figures, but painted like the comics.

A comparison:

I was gifted the ST 2 pack w/Raph. Since they're so basic and identical I'm unsure whether I'll try and get the other 3. No Don pics yet? In that pack Raph at least came with an amusing Eggo waffle ninja star and a Walkman. We all knew this was coming so I held out and now I may be over it. But I second that the figure is nice enough for its price point, certainly a more worthy addition to any collection than than the Teenage Mutant Acne Turtles.
