Where did you get any of the dates from? I can't really seem to find any dates in the actual comic to work from, aside from April remembering 9/11 and then seeing the new tower being complete but that isn't much to work from. It's not like that works as much of a reference point since all it confirms is that she was alive in 2001 and that her mom died in 2014 at the earliest (which is an error on your part since you claimed 2013, unless you have a reason to think it was a depiction of the tower under construction). When April actually mentioned how she met the Turtles before she died, it's just vaguely stated to have been "years prior", which for all that comic states could be as two years prior or over a decade.
Any other events also occur on a really vague timeline. Yoshi and Nagi feuded "A long, long time ago". In between Yoshi fleeing to America and Saki growing in power after "the years pass" and "eventually" spies finds Yoshi. When the Turtles finally kill Shredder after "once again, the years passed". Do you see what I mean? Those are the actual terms used here, the series actively avoids explicit dates and numbers of years passing. I legitimately can't tell if you have an actual reason to place the Ronin-verse version of the first TMNT comic in 2011 based on what the comic itself tells us or you'd just think it would be a easter egg to place it in the year of the first Waltz penned TMNT comic. |

Yes, my actual stating point is TLR being in 2040, which isn’t in the book but has been stated by Eastman and Waltz several times, including the initial press release announcement: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ne...ronin-1291766/
So all my dates are added/subtracted from that. Plus we know April is in her mid 60’s during Re-Evolution and old enough to be in grad school around the time she met the turtles. The 2013 date was based on One Freedom Tower being completely stacked in May of that year. It wasn’t open to the public until 2014, but anyone living in NYC would have had the opportunity to marvel at its full erection (pause) long before the “grand reopening” or whatever. I’d be happy to share the rest of my notes if you’re interested, but it doesn’t seem like you are lol Last edited by ToTheNines; 06-29-2026 at 05:13 AM. |
