RIP Sam Neill

Classic knighted actor Sam Neill has passed at 78, known for his roles in the Jurassic Park series, The Hunt For Red October, Omen III The Final Conflict, Death In Brunswick, Sleeping Dogs, The Simpsons, Bicentennial Man, The Horse Whisperer, Event Horizon, Wimbledon, The Commuter, Ivanhoe, The Sullivans, and many other roles. He seemed to have overcome his bout with cancer, but guess something else happened. Rest well, Sam Neill.

Oh man. I wonder what the cause was.

I haven’t seen all of his movies but I thought Bicentennial Man was cool. Been long since I’ve seen it. JP of course. Glad he was able to return to the franchise.

I loved him in Jurassic Park, In The Mouth of Madness, and Event Horizon.

Ah man, I literally JUST watched Bicentennial Man with him and Robin Williams just 2 days ago. Very underrated movie, I recommend everyone who likes sci-fi to see it.

I recall that he had some kind of cancer (Prostate?) for some time. A while back it was reported that he beat it, but who knows?

I'm sure it will come out in due time.

It was a rare blood cancer but it’s reported he passed away cancer free.

I know cancer can return at anytime but it sounds like that wasn’t really the reason.

That usually implies a weakened or compromised immune system then.

Makes sense after years of chemo and fighting cancer. Harder for anyone to fight off anything after all of that.

Martin Ferrero, the unfortunate lawyer Donald Gennero and second Jurassic Park victim, after the crewman at the beginning in the Velociraptor cage, has now caught up to Sam in age since he was born 15 days after him.
