Do you think TMNT is as popular as it once was?

I don't think it is yet but its getting there. They have the cartoon, toys, video games and other merchandise but there still isn't a new movie.

I don't think it will ever be that popular again. That was just insane...

Well, I don't think it's quite where it was in the 90's, but it is getting close. The toys are selling real well, they've already pumped out a video game, with another in development, and alot of different merchandise has the TMNT on it (T-shirts, Mighty Beanz, Inflatale chairs, rubber balls, ect)

Its hard to say IMO. I'm not on the playground any more to really guage. It was huge in the early 90s and I think the new show has the potential as well.

I will say that I think they are whoring out the TMNT licensing like crazy. I think there is far greater deal more non-figure stuff than the last time around. Especially this early in the game.

It's pretty popular, but definitely not as popular as it was! Like, if I mention it in class, most likely some of the kids will remember the original series, not the new one.

It'll never be as popular as the original show, but it'll still do real well in the long run. When it comes to popular hypes/crazes, they always do the best first time around and any subsequent repetitions do only moderately well.

Not yet but it's heading there. I hope it gets real popular as it once was.
I hope it replaces Yu-Gi-Oh and other Japenese shows and merchandise.
Let it stay on top for at least the next 10 years.

It's not as popular as it once was with the orig. toon. But it's certainly gaining some popularity. I think it's as popular as it needs to be right now.

Yup. It's doing just fine... I woulden't want it to become another craze, 'cause I'd never be able to find the toys .

A problem that often happens with crazes now, I think, is that almost because they're so very popular, they sometimes die out very quickly, too. I like the level of popularity it has now. It's very comfortable.

Yes you're right. I think that happened with things like Pokemon and Power Rangers. I'm glad they aren't over-doing with with the new TMNT

Yay, you have reached the level of "Forum No-Life!"

Anywho, back on topic. Like someone noted, it's good at this level. It's popular, but you don't hear about it on the news and stuff like you did with Pokemon. Also, it's nice for us fans because we can get all the junk we want. (except for me, I haven't really gotten the chance to buy anything but one figure. lol)

I do not think that they are not as popular as they were in the early 1990s.

i just...liek whoever else said it....hope this dethrowns the Yo-gi-oh pokemon japanimation stuff....i mean it's all pretty much the same....at least the turtles offer something a little diffrent...it may never be as popular as it was in the 90's but we children of the 90's will help it become at least a marketable franchise....and we do it for the children....sniff sniff
The only way we could gague it was if we asked little kids or saw how well the re-launch of he-man did....or JL....or x-men or spiderman....stuff we watched in the 90's that seems to be resurfacing...if it's doin good then TMNT should do good
oh and isn't there a halmark tmnt movie i the works....maybe that's just the movie new tmnt fans need
