Questions about the Turtles in the UK

Ever since I heard about how the Turtles used to be known as Hero Turtles in the UK and other things regarding the ways they were changed, I've had a few questions that I've never really found the answer to, so I hope someone can help me with them!

1. Are the Turtles still known as Hero Turtles in the UK today? Or are they now known by their correct name?

2. I heard that the UK has had problems with nunchuku, so what happened to Mike? Did they somehow blur his weapon out on the cartoon? Would you ever be aware of what his weapon was? Would you get the little plastic numchucks in the action figure box, or were they removed? How is it today? Are numchucks fine?

3. What about Shurikens (Ninja stars)? Were they shown? I'm not sure of any big examples of them with the Turtles though apart from how they came with the action figures. I've just heard that there is some strange rule about them in the UK, I think?

Anyway, that's all! Hopefully somebody can help me out with those!

Here comes Fraggle to save the day !!!!

1. Well me personally i say ninja and most youngsters i work or see with toys say NiNJA (which is good ).
But my friends and most adults still say hero turtles

2. Yes its true the UK did ban mike frm using chucks but what they did is after the first season they gave mike this grappling hook, they didnt blur the chucks out. Even though u wud still get little plastic chucks with all the mikey figures (which is weird )
2day Nunchucks in the series are fine but sum channals e.g GMTV do take out little scences where he uses them but in the new cartoon u dont see him use them like full contact as much as the old series.

3. Shurikens were not shown at all if i can remember right but like chucks they did come with every turtle figure.

Its not a strange rule wat it was at about that time the UK was trying to get rid all the ninja stuff around the country (How on earth the turtles got in and stayed is a mystrey itself)

Hope that helps Poona i did my best !!!

and just to prevent any confusion, they didnt EDIT his nunchucks out, it wasnt like they went frame by frame and slipped in a grappling hook for every scene, (which would have been impossible to do back then). The animation studio responsible for the turtles was actually instructed that mikey no longer hits anything with his chucks, so it was all animated from thereon with the hook.

Here is one. It has Finnish subtitles but the song is in English. I hope you like it.

You need the DivX codec to play the video clip. It can be obtained from
http://www.divx.com/divx/

If you just want the TMHT music:

www.80scartoons.co.uk

I think that has the old HERO theme on it, although I didn't actually check to be honest. Right-click and select 'save target as' to download it I'm guessing

I'm afraid 80scartoons's theme music is from TMNT even though the pics are from TMHT.

Thanks for that!

Oh... it's pretty bad though! The person singing is different to the normal (US) one and the Turtles even have different voices, compared to what they did in the cartoon itself.

The Turtle voices in the UK Hero Turtles theme song are the same ones used in the US theme song, and I’m pretty sure it’s the same American guy singing the theme song on the UK version, except with a few changes (for example in the US version there seems to be 2 guys singing together but on the UK version it seems to be just one guy in some places).
