TMNT acclaimed new series SNEAK PEAK

Dear fans and/or retailers,
In this months previews you will find a solicitation for Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #3. This is part one of a two issue story arch I drew with inker John Beatty. The scripting by TMNT alumnus Stephen Murphy is top notch as is the art.

We all really wanted to make these issues special and you can judge for yourself with the preview art below. I've also included a number of quotes from prominent comics creators to force your hand to up the numbers on these issues. Order a few extra copies I guarantee they won't be left on the racks.

What are pro's saying about Rick Remender and John Beatty's art on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?
__________________________________________________ _____________________

"Not since the earliest issues of TMNT by their creators have I seen an artist putting this kind of dark passion and power into a book that was long ago dismissed as kid stuff. Rick Remender's pencils bring back EVERYTHING that made the Ninja Turtles cool in the first place! With John Beatty capturing and accenting that power, this book is a visual treat. I can't wait to see more!"

-Darick Robertson
Transmet, Wolverine, The Punisher
__________________________________________________ _____________________

Rick Remender and John Beatty are the best thing to happen to the turtles since Simon Bisley. It's so refreshing to see a team come on to an old favorite and bring life to it in a way that makes it seem completely new. Dynamic angles, fantastic expressions, bold confident inks... the Turtles have rarely looked better. I've already seen the stuff and I'm dying to get my hands on a copy!

-Robert Kirkman
Walking Dead, Invincible
__________________________________________________ _____________________

Rick and John have worked hard to give the reader their moneys worth on this TMNT extravaganza. Packed with monsters, violence, mysticism and incredible detailed artwork, this book has everything but color. But who need it with pages to be so drenched with blacks and nice grey tones? The Turtles are coming back. Sandpaper your fingers and grab on to the shell.

-Bill Wray
Ren and Stimpy, Hellboy Jr.
__________________________________________________ _____________________

"Not since the glory days of the original black and
white series by Eastman and Laird have the Ninja
Turtles looked so damn good! Remender, Beatty, and
Cohn have managed to capture the same kinetic flair
and energy that made this such a unique comic when it
hit the stands all those years ago."
- Jim Mahfood
Stupid Comics, Grrl Scouts, 40oz Collected
__________________________________________________ _____________________

" Another young penciling tyro enters the fray. If he weren't a pal,
I'd have to have his fingers busted. Remender is a triple treat! Not
content to just be a great inker...no, animator...no,
writer...no...wait! That's four things!
Remender busts out with some great moody action penciling, polished to a
fine edge by Mr. Beatty's crisp inking and toned nicely by Mr. Cohn.
Good comics!"

-Mike Manley
Draw Magazine, Batman, Samurai Jack

Looks pretty good, Rick. I gave you a front page mention also, if you don't mind. I linked to your post. I'd appreciate it if you could alter your post somewhat so there's no sideways scrolling. Massively screws up the page formatting. Thanks man.

This is some of the best TMNT art I've seen in a Mirage book since their early days.. I will NOT be missing this issue.

Of course it is. It's actually done by someone with talent. Instead of that hack, Jim Lawson.

I guess it's an acquired taste in art style... but the TMNT look like monkeys... Leo slicing off Shredder's head looks like an aging chimp...

Drop what? It's called an opinion. Lawson's art compared to most other professional artists is god awful. It's called an opinion, deal with it. Lawson used to be a hell of a lot better then he is now. He's just lost either his knack or his desire to actually try to turn in decent artwork anymore. If it weren't for the inks, the art would look even worse.

You're not supposed to drop your opinion (I'm not too fond of Lawson's new style, either) but to stop saying stuff that that has already been discussed for a billion times and always, ALWAYS leads to a flame war. Seriously, you're even a kind of mod on these boards so you should be smart enough to not fuel such pointless discussions.

Grow up. I don't care if you like his style or not (I happen to) but there is no need for immature put downs and rude remarks. You are allowed to have an opinion but please have one that is RESPECTFUL AND MATURE. Barkworm is right just DROP IT. We've been over this a 1,000 times.

Back on Topic:

Rememder's art looks sweet. That page 1 image has me drooling and makes me very curious about the issue. Although I will admit I'm confused about the "giant space monkey guy".

Many people don't like Lawsson's new style, and thats fine. Doens't mean it needs to be brought into every comic book thread, especially ones that aren't in any way connected to Lawsson. So like the others said, drop it. Flame bates like that ceratinly do not add anything to discussion.
