My opinion is... the character could have been developed into a very interesting character. But of course, leave it to Saban to make even kindergarteners want to watch some hardcore violence after watching crap. I happened to like Venus as an idea, but the approach was all wrong. I won't vote for either, because her background could have tied in well and become a success, but Saban can f*ck a show over.

Simply put, it could have been better in others' hands.

Yeah, I'll admit had someone other than Saban had been writing the next mutation, maybe even Laird would have respected Venus.

But on the whole, i love her character I've always liked the concept of female turtles. If I had a Venus Mega Bloks figure I'd include her in my Teenage Mutant Brick Turtles movie.

My three words?

Venus! Venus! Venus!

Reasons to like her

I agree with those who think that Venus' character in TNM was weak and stupid and two dimensional. It was very true.

However, I know enough to know that had her character been properly developed, she might get a little more respect in this fandom. I mean, look at how all the other characters were dealt with in that show. All shallow characterization.

I don't think she should have been "retooled" to fit in with the new series. She would have been added just for the sake of her being added, and that's what made her such a bad character in TNM.

She's one of those "one universe" characters, and that's where she should be left.

I'm in a third minority here...I never even watched The Next Mutation...didn't have much of an interest in it back then. I remember it but just saw maybe the equivalent of a few minutes one time. I thought about renting a VHS I saw of it once, but never got around to it.

I have absolutely no clue what Venus was like, what she looks like.
