New cartoon. But the old cartoon Shredder's voice was funny. Just the fact it was the voice of uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Bel air is funny in itself.

I really can't decide. The Shredder isn't one of my favorite characters (I have nothing against him), so his voice doesn't matter that much to me.

i cant really picture him doing the voice .... did he do it for the entire run of the show or as long as there was a shredder

Cool, I didn't know that the Shredder's voice was done by James Avery, here I didn't get the cartoon with the original voices. I liked Avery in Fresh Prince of Bel Air, great actor

What's just as funny/interesting is that Phylicia Rashad(cosby mom) guest starred in an episode. She played Dr. Jane Goodfellow's voice in the episode What's Michaelangelo Good For.

i remember hearing that "uncle phil" did a voice but i had forgotten about it .. and i dont think that i knew for what charicter he did it for

Old cartoon Shredder. He had such an awesome voice. New Cartoon Shredder is cool, but it's kind of weird how it has some sort of echo or distortion when he wears his body suit. I can't believe that 4 people did the voice of Shredder on the old cartoon though. Still, no voice can compare with James Avery's. I often wonder who the 1989 alternate voice of Shredder is, I don't think it's in the voice actor list.
Edit: nm it is, but it's labeled as the 1991 alternative.

that is a good NM line....my favorite actually, but i have to vote for James Avery fromm the original toon. Nothing beats his "YOU IDIOTS!!!!"

That is so cool! I did not know that either. I loved Uncle Phil, and when I watch the old toons Shredder & Krang's schtick still makes me laugh.
