What are the actual names of the skin colors of the TMNT?
I know that, for differentiation purposes, marketing purposes etc that Playmates (or was it the cartoon? well someone in marketing) gave each turtle a different shade of green
does anyone know what the specific names of these skin/green colors are? I think Raphael has the best with a sorta neon green, I can't tell what Leonardo's is, Michelangelo has some sorta pine green and Donatello's is sorta brown..... any clues? |

Well, they have to have the color codes somewhere at Playmates. Though most likely, it'll come out to be a number instead of a name.
They also use different colors for the cartoon, so 4Kids might be somewhere else to ask. |

TMNT Color Codes
I don't know about specific names, but I CAN give the exact Hexadecimal and RGB color codes for the current TMNT. For the most part, the skin tones in the original toon were the same, or very close, in most shots...the differences were obvious only in promotional art and the toys.
If you ever wanted to reproduce the colors in PhotoShop, Paint, or on the internet, you'd need these codes instead of names, anyway: Current: Leo Skin: #8A9E3D 138 158 61 Leo Mask: #255D98 37 93 152 Don Skin: #A5A744 165 167 68 Don Mask: #6F6B9D 111 107 157 Mike Skin: #3C7059 60 112 89 Mike Mask: #F19A3D 241 154 61 Raph Skin: #1C5D35 28 93 53 Raph Mask: #E8413B 232 65 59 Color "names" are pretty useless...everyone has a different opinion of teal, green, sea green, etc. These numbers, though, are industry standards. You can read them to someone in Germany and someone in Japan, and get them to print the same exact shade. Graphic Designer.

mikey = jungle green, if my memory of the colors I used on the TMNT coloring books back in 1990-91 suits me well.
