To:Playmates:Good writer needed
you may be asking time for what? well ill tell you. it is time playmates hears our voices. the figures are taking a beating. seeing baxter stockman has drove me to this. first i was dissapointed by the articulation. then as time progressed the articulation got even worst. we are gettin inacurate figures. stuff that wouldnt even fit with the show. the extreme sports started it all. playmates lied to us. they told us this was as far as they would go. we are getting deep diving turtles now .with the new line of figures you cannot do anything with them. the articulation is so bad that you may as well leave them in the package. so what is my plan.....it is simple. i need a very good writer to write a letter about all of our complaints. then post it in the forum. it needs to be very well done. i know one of the reasons most people dont write them is because they dont feel like taking the time. so see if we get a great letter to send, all those who want to copy and paste it can send it to playmates. playmates would be so overloaded with email that they would then see just what we realy want out of these figures. and for those that like to be more personal they could write their own letters. im sure everyone on the technodrome could do this. that would be thousands of emails to playmates. i could even get people from other places to send it. if anyone is interested please feel free to speak up

I was going to post this, but I see you beat me to the punch because my computer froze.
Baxter looks like $#!+, and the articulation isn't all that great on the current figures. I mean they're ninjas. Aren't ninjas supposed to be flexible? I'd love to be able to pose my Elite Foot in all those badass poses from the show, same with the turtles, but due to the limited articulation, I can't. I'll give it a shot writing the letter, but I'll post it here before I send it so it can be proofread for errors. I'd also like to ask that if anyone should decide to send their own letter, please do not be rude or angry in your writing. Be polite, because, as our resident newsrat Splinter said, "an angry letter is typically never read". Thank you.

Note also, that E-Mails are typically ignored as well. Just due to their ease of use. You can easily fire off tons of E-mail in one night. But a handwritten letter sent by snail mail will always do more to show your case then a simple E-Mail. So write and send letters and/or postcards.

I dont think a form letter is the right approach. It shows less heart in the matter.
Rather, we should comprise a list of points that should be included into the letter, and then each write an individual letter that includes some or all of the points. If people post points I will edit them into this post and keep them organized and from having repeats. I will also attempt to reword them being the master word-smith I am. Also points that will hurt the cause will not be included. Lets get this done so we can get some good figures out!!! Points to Include in Letter: - - - Where to send the letter: Playmates Toys, Inc. Attn: Consumer Service 611 Anton Blvd. Ste. 600 Costa Mesa, CA 92626 Try to make it somewhat formal with openners like To Whom It May Concern, or something to that effect and avoid angry statements or bashing of the line/upcoming toys. We are all upset about baxter but saying stuff like "he sucks" will do nothing where something like, "I feel a utrom baxter will be a much more effective toy from the consumer end, thus selling more units, increasing profits" or some BS like that. |

Points to include:
- Baxter sucks - More articulation (like I said, ninjas are supposed to be flexible. These figures aren't.) - Fewer turtle variants

If mikey wants to write a letter, then I think he should do so. and then everybody could print it out with the letter is done, and send it on to Playmates, all the letters should say exactly the same only with different names of course. Playmates would easy notice what we do not like about their figures this way, in my opinion.

Don't go the form letter route. You are trying to show that a lot of people want these changes. A form letter, while professional, makes things way to easy. Put your opinion in your own words, that's the only way to make changes.

with these 3 topics inclucded: - Baxter sucks - More articulation (like I said, ninjas are supposed to be flexible. These figures aren't.) - Fewer turtle variants Right

Lmao I really wish everyone could just stop a moment and to here all the Waaaaaaaas and boohoos...
If you guys write things like Baxter sucks...give me give me give me give me give me give me give me.... That's what playmates is going to see and there going to say ingrates and not give you crap anymore. And make the line totally for kids. I'm not saying it's bad for you to write them just for the love of us all please don't go in and write letters that sound like bebop and rocksteady wrote them. I'm disappointed about Baxter but seriously wtf....your all jumping off the deep end and this is probably how he's gonna end up looking in the show at some point. And it wasn't playmates that promised you show accurate figures it was a dang worker that is now more then likely gone. and you guys want them to stop making turtle variants but that's what little kids want....I have 2 nephews and that's all they want are different TMNT if it wasn't for little kids wanting all of them (and yes I am quite sure parents buy more TMNT then we do) well wouldn't be getting all the other crazy figures...another thing why don't we just save out bitching until the toy actually comes out........and my last thing I will say they gave you nicely articulated figures yet you all still continue to complain and wine about it. But seriously please think about what you all write before you go off on some tangent about how bad this or that sucks or mine mine mine mine gime gime gime -Vaughn Michael |

Seriously, I've been trying to keep my mouth shut, but I feel the same way as Putrescent. I mean COME ON people. If except for the armor turtles at least every TMNT variant is something that's from the show somehow or another. It hasn't gone crazy like the old toon line at ALL yet. What I really don't get is why people whine about the variations so much. If you don't like them then collector or not don't buy them. If it's a waste of money for you it's your own fault for BUYING them not thier fault for MAKING them. Really I'm still wishing they'd make some damned Purple Dragon Disguise and Trenchcoat wearing TMNT variants.
On the other hand...yes I'll agree Baxter doesn't look so grand, but it was surprising they made a Baxter anyway, considering we had to practicaly RIOT for it. They're trying to give people what they want but they CAN'T please everyone at the same time. You gotta remember that this company isn't working for YOU YOU and only YOU but for all the TMNT fans, and not all TMNT fans have the same opinions. It's one thing to express a little dissapointment with things, but to go on and on like this... It's about as bad as the people who throw fits about things they don't like on the show as if they /DESERVE/ better...which is funny cause I saw a rerun of the Simpsons that reminded me of some of the folks on the new toon forum back on Saturday... Comic Book guy was muttering something about how the people making the Itchy and Scratchy cartoons owed him, and Bart protested that those people were giving him hours of entertainment for free, it wasn't possible that they could OWE him anything...yep...there's a lot of times I feel like the Bart of that scenario...

yes I'm sure Laird & *gag* Lawson have allot to do with the figures...that prolly why most of them look so "bad" to so many people...these figures are not going to be anything like the old line because the majority of the extremely creative team that designed allot of the old figures is now gone.....or Laird doesn't want wierd monsters and wacky mutants (even though a hell of allot of the fans do including myself). I agree with you guys the line is already starting to go stale...but playmates has to do a certain amount of stupid turtle figure for every cool bad guy or monster we get.....I'd prefer a normal or robot Baxter probably more then any of you since he's my favorite character on this new show. But I'm not going to complain about it why because there are chances of getting another down the road or some sort of special addition Baxter of some sort....seriously playmates is allot different then they used to be....and they are trying to please everyone it seems atleast....so give them a chance...I didn't say not to write your letter but please be civil and I wasn't just talking to you Mr. Duh...but I was talking in a whole that we meaning none of us should act like uncivilized jerks to them....but I'm sure it will happen anyway.....I'm just hoping things don't get worse because of rude letters but yea I don't put it past some of the people here to write them saying this or that toy sucks lol fan people are like that........ Peter has the last say in everything I'm sure the toys go by his desk and if he doesn't like it I'm sure it wont look the same...so I am guessing he likes the Baxter figure.....but like I said before this may be how Baxter will look in season 3. Btw once again I am not a stupid TMNT fan I know who peter Laird is....and frankly you want my opinion things have gone down hill since Kevin Eastman left. And btw he actually brought them back because he wanted to and he will stop it at any time he pleases he didn't do anything for us and he's said that a bunch of times now. I didn't say you were going to bash there toys once again...I ment that I know there will be others who will because they are angry over an action figure and have to nitpick everything. So let me close with saying I'm not bashing you or anyone else I'm saying like I said before just go in with an open mind question why they went with that version over a toon accurate one....we shouldn't demand things it sounds ignorant....I'm just saying write some good letters stating why you dislike this move they made and that will help down the road in perhaps getting us a blue awesome lab coat Baxter who we all really want. -Vaughn Michael |

On the bright side, Mattel isn't running the line. So you are getting more then just -all- turtle variants. And some of them are good. I like all of the ones that have been released so far, myself. The repaints need to go though, but that's another issues. Now, again. If you really want to organize a writing campaign....pick one point and stick to it. The big issue at the moment is 'Baxter', everything else is secondary. And again, don't use a form letter. It doesn't matter how well or bad you write, just that it's in your own words and by snail mail. Noting else will show your opinion as well.

And forgive me if I seemed snapish but that rant wasn't pointed at anyone imparticular, it's just been boiling up for quite sometime between what people have been saying about the toys and new toon, needed to let a little venting out somewhere.
