Favorite character and why?

Does your favorite change depending on mood, as you've grown? Does it change for different incarnations of the TMNT?

My favorite started out as Raph--old series. He was silly in an edgy way ('or else I'm gonna get...::raises sai::....sarcastic on you...') but he could still fight quite awesomely. Then with the movies he was more angsty which I just looked at as development and him needing cuddles XD
And he was still amusing sometimes--though I never liked in TMNT3 where he destroys the boom box just so he can complain dramatically, he could've done something less..damaging to get the guy's attention.

I always had kind of a soft spot for Mikey, especially with the movies but I suppressed it ;_; because my brother liked him and I obviously couldn't have the same favorite turtle as him So I stuck with Raph.

Then I saw the new show and thought 'wooooow Raph is being a jerk....but Mikey's pretty funny' and rewatched the movies and thought 'wooow Raph is angsty....but Mikey's pretty awesome.' I tried to deny it some more but Mikey took over in a big way (WHERE DO I GET THAT PLUSH?!? Its only 6 inches big but he's smiling and I am in neeedddd ;____; ).
He's just so amusing and I've gotten so sick of the angstNdrama of real life x.x It's refreshing for someone to be like...yeah shiate happens, do what you can, and ENJOY THE REST OF THE TIME! He's also so sweet--he jokes around about being selfish etc (this room--mine. this room--also mine!) but when it comes down to it he's supporting the rest of the guys and not just taking care of his own. He's also soo ADD and I always end up with ADD people ;p

Though when I went back to the original series dvd, Raph is still my favorite there Mikey seems to have jokes that just aren't as funny to me.. and it's more like "pizza! party! pizza! party! dude! yeah!" whereas in the new series his jokes have more background and depth, maybe just more detail.

And I like April in the old series and movies She doesn't fight with the guys, but she offers them her apartment and doesn't shy away from anything else. It always bothered me that she faints because she's a news reporter she's had to have seen weird/gross stuff before and in general she's not a wimpy person. She's also really determined about getting what she wants when she wants it and knows how to use things to her advantage ('you know...she has her own office.... well she has her own corner office...she's also one of the highest paid field reporters in nyc...' ). With the new series April the fainting makes more sense but I don't like her character as much. It seems too obvious that she likes Casey and she seems a lot younger and generally more girly than strong woman with a personality-ish--though the working with Baxter was really cool.[/b]

I don't really have an absolute favorite, but if I had to choose I would say:

--Favorite TMNT: Raph
--Favorite TMNT Ally: Casey
--Favorite Villain: Bebop

Don is my favorite TMNT hands down.

Casey has always been my favorite character since I saw the first movie. I dunn why he was my favorite at the time, but now I like him because he's a vigilante who always tries to act tough but has a real soft side to him, and I think he's a real versatile character.

Yeah the same goes for me. Other than that, Don and Raph are my two favorite TMNT.

Don. I can't into the whole specifics, mostly because I don't have enough time, lol!!

He always has been, and always has been my favorite. It's his personality, his traits... just HIM. And, the voices they have for him!! *swoons*

Now my second favorite, THAT'S changed. Way back when the old cartoon was on (boy, does that make me sound old or what? Hehe ) Leo was my least favorite, and Mikey was in the number two spot. These days, Leo is my number two turtle. Sneaky little ninja. Heh.

Oddly enough my favourite TMNt characters have always been non-turtles. Even as a kid when I were to choose what figures I wanted, I'd always go for guys like Yusagi, Metalhead or Fugitoid. Come to think of it, the only turtle and 3rd figure I chose to get was Mikey (as he was my favourite of the 4 turtles as a kid) and I only got the rest cause my parents got them for me for christmas or a birthday or any other occasion where I didn't choose what i got.

But the biggest problem choosing a character is that they are all portrayed so differently in each continuity. So in order to save time for me choosing I'll list them as my favourites in what continuity they were represented in.

MIRAGE: Shredder hands down.
Vintage Toys: Scumbug/Slash/Antrax/Mutagen Man all equal
Old Skool Cartoon: Mikey/bebop/Rocksteady
New Toys: Shredder/Casey
New Cartoon: Casey (he's too much of a goon not to be the best)
Movies: Raph/Casey

But overall just after typing this Iv'e decided the winner is Casey. He's too cool in too many continuity's (asides the vintage toy and toon).

For me, it's Leonardo.

The first time I saw TMNT on T.V. back in 1988, I liked Leo right off the bat (I'm not sure why). When I asked for a Leonardo action figure, I got Raphael by mistake. I still loved my action figure, and from there I got interested in Raphael. It didn't last long (1 year), and Michaelangelo became my fave character because he was just so wild and goofy (hey, I was a little kid, so that appealed to me). By the time the first movie was out, my interest moved to Donatello. Donatello was actually My favorite turtle for quite a long while (he always seemed to me as the most useful member out of the rest of the TMNT). I liked him because he's funny like Mikey, but not in such a goofy way; plus he can be serious like Leonardo (Raphael was pretty damn serious in the movies, but he always had such a pissy attitude wich was a real turn off). By the time I became 14 years old, Leonardo became my favorite character once more.
I admire Leonardo so much because he's so strong in so many ways.
Leonardo helped me (and is still helping me) To take things seriously and to strive for perfection. Due to Leonardo's persona and acomplishments, aswell as his attitude towards challanges, I've been able to fashion a very stronge spirit which helps me with life situations. His high interest in the Martial Arts is what fueld me with the passion to study Ninjutsu. I try to train as hard as him, but I'm not as strong as him Physicaly/Mentaly/Spiritualy yet.
In short, Leonardo is not only my favorite TMNT character, He's also a role model and an inspiration.

When i had seen the first episode from the old TMNT i had drictly a curse on Leonardo. Don't know why but when i saw him dowing his stuff... aw man i can't exsplane it. i just can say that when i was litte i had a curse on him and still have the curse.

I totally agree about the role-model thing.. Leo's always been in the background as a kind of 'you should do...' thing. He's got all the determination and honor. My parents (mostly the mother ) didn't like the TMNT because they 'fighted a lot' and that would be a 'bad influence' but really, the turtles are where I got my sense of morality, that you shouldn't fight unless you have to, that you have to practice to get better, the whole loyalty and forgiveness they have for each other, defending those who deserve it, etc.

Raph the angsty, anti-social angry guy. I love it on the outside he's this bad ass but inside he's a sweetheart. He'd prolly kill me for saying that too.
He's not 'perfect' like Leo wants to be, he's the most flawed of the guys-gets in trouble, jumps in without thinking, etc.etc...you all know.

what I think of the different Raphs:
Mirage: Of course I love the original, but I don't like what they're doing to him lately. It's a bit OTT.
Old Toon: Gimme a break. Ok so i liked him back then but now, he's totally OOC. I like the 'angry young man' style better.
Movie1: Love him number 1.
2: He's ok, still cute.
3: AHHHH THEY"RE FROGS!
TNM: interesting design, voice is ok...but they should thought out the show beter.
New toon: Raph's just plain awesome.

My favorite character is Leatherhead. Hes just so awesome! He kicks butt and he looks really cool. Plus i liked his voice in the toon

I havnt heard him in the new toon but I liked his old toon voice. The guy who did that voice also did the boat driver in Scooby Doo on Zombie island. I know that cajan accent anywhere!
