Aww, I'm sorry Wingnut. I'll be thinking of you. But remember, no matter what the prognosis is, you have to keep a postitve mind. Attitude is one of the biggest factors in recovery.

Good luck. :)

Damn, that does sound pretty bad Wingnut, although I didn't understand half of it. I suppose you hurt your arm, the one you need to play baseball with. Right? (I'm a total zero when it comes to baseball).

I hope your arm will be okay and that you'll be able to play baseball like before. I hate sport injuries...

Well if there's one positive thing to come out of this it's that I get to spend some time at the Drome, and that's always a good thing.

Grrrrr. Normally, being the quiet, peace-loving person that I am, I wouldn't subject my buddies to my rants, but I just need a few friendly shoulders to lean on and vent to right now, so bear with me, please, okay? Here goes............

Okay, a lot of you know that I had 12 of my teeth pulled back on the 1st of February. Not something that I was fond of having done (who the shell is?!), but it was necesary. Then I was supposed to go back tomorrow (the 4th of THIS month (March)) to have the rest pulled so that I could get fitted for, then get my new dentures. As you all can pretty well guess, it WASN'T something that I was really looking forward to, but it would be over, I'd have my new teeth, and I wouldn't EVER have to worry about the pain of a busted tooth EVER again. So I was looking forward to getting it over and done with.

Well, guess what?! Due to a certain IDIOT in my family, I'm NOT going to get to go and get it done now! And I don't know if I'll ever GET to now, due to the fact that we no longer have a car, and my stupid, worthless sister-in-law won't let my brother take us to Licking in theirs! Oh, yeah, it was supposed to be an all day type of thing, so my "dear" brother called us and said he didn't feel like staying up there all day, so he wasn't going to take us (nice excuse, on top of hers, don'tcha think?!). NICE, huh?! So your's truly gets to suffer for the rest of her life with no new teeth!!!

So if I could ask you guys to pray for us to find some way to work this out and maybe get me a later appointment somewhere later on down the road, please do. I so need the prayers and support of you, my good buds here at the Drome. Any and all that you send up to The Throne (or to whatever deity or power that you hold sacred) will be more than appreciated. Thankies in advance to all of you, my dear online family. I love you all.

Peace.

Good luck Wolf...

I've just had an AWESOME day :D.

1) I got tons of old Pokemon packs for a buck a piece. First edition and all.
2) I found a new venue for my Pokemon tournaments, finally. It's even under what I budgeted for space by over $100, and it's bigger then what I'm at now. And cleaner, AND it has a land on the main street here in Lincoln, so there's huge potential for people to just wander in and see what's goin' down. And I get the space from 9 AM-8 PM. I've been having to run these tournaments from 12PM-5PM for a while, so this is a HUGE improvement. Then I don't have to worry about people going to church instead, 'cause it's on a saturday. There's 6 more players right there *glee*
3) players who owed me money from a past tournament paied up today, so i've got $30 outta nowhere. Schweet.
4) I got sunday night off of work. Double schweet!

It's too bad you can't go to Disneyland before April 28. My store is doing the 2Fer deal where you pay admission to Disneyland and then you can go to Disney's California Adventure on another day for free! I'd like to go myself, but I don't think we can afford it. We went twice last year (September 4 and October 31) but, the first time my sister and I didn't pay. It's real expensive now. One adult admission is $53.00. Eeeesh. I hope you do go, Hannah. It may be pricey, but it's still loads of fun.

Thanks, Aska. My mom and dad are going to the hospital tonight. My dad is hardly sleeping so my mom went with him. I don't go to the hospital because I had a traumatic experience years ago and it's hard for me to walk into hospitals. I am trying to keep myself busy by making screens and stuff to keep my mind off of everything. But I really appreciate you guys being patient with me and praying for me.

(I dunno if this belongs here, but I just wanna get this off my chest...)

Well, today WAS supposed to be a good day for me since I didn't have to work. Now I find out my mother didn't pay off a payment on my computer. Well, we got the situation covered, I got my computer back...in MY name. And I find out my mother has a drug problem...so does her sorry excuse of a boyfriend.

First, I come home from work sunday night, no one's there in the apartment. I call my aunt, she doesn't know where they could have gone. Then, two hours later, my mother comes in, in a hurry, with my aunt right behind her and she just goes to her room for a few things and leaves again without saying a word. She doesn't come back with her boyfriend until this evening...

My whole families mad at her right now; my uncle wants to strangle her...I just don't want any part of this. I mean, I love my mother to death, but come on...*sighs* Everyone I work with can tell when I'm upset, even though they pick on me just for the hell of it(everyone at BK picks on someone; it's our nature)...I just don't like this kind of stress....

*sighs*

God, I cant believe how depressed I’ve been lately. Last night just hit me out of nowhere. They’ve cut off 75% of my financial aid, I’m behind on my work, and I can barely keep myself up while everyone’s coming to me to lean on. I need another vacation. I need a few days of no classes. No internet people, nothing. Just me, my books and my computer. I need to worry about me...

I should probably start at the beginning...

Well, For the past two weeks, I've been struggling to get my Chaucer and My writing Homework finished for classes. Theyre only twice a week, which isnt bad. Its just All the Reading and the analyzing that is killing me. Its not a HUGE amount of work, but its enough that I'm unable to keep up. And the motivation just ISNT there....

I have to read, analyze and translate three stories from The Canterbury Tales, three presentations to work on, 8 or nine readings to analyze and respond to, three books to read and respond to, a claymation project, and music.... Its just like last semester. I passed in one report, and got assigned three more. In ONE Day!

This weekend’s going to be hell for me. I have to get EVERYTHING Handed in next week before break. I cant afford to have homework over Spring break; I need to take that time to do some hours at the store. I’m dreading it after so many weeks of just sitting around and doing homework. I just want to curl up in my bed and not wake up. And after a week or more of trying to help people with their troubles, its starting to wear off onto me, and I’m getting miserable.

Don't get me wrong: I'm always here to give a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on, and an ear to listen. I like tryin to help people out. I've always been like that. It gives me a sense of purpose, something to be proud of myself for... I just... want to leave everything for a while and have Me time, which I’m not going to have for a Long time...

Then Last Night I got my financial aid letter in the mail. Now, since I've changed to a Writing Major, I've brought my grades up a lot, my GPA's up, and I"m getting my bills paid. We were sent an email saying that our FAFSA was Due Mar. 1st. Well, I find out from my parents that they hadn't even DONE the paperwork yet, so I spent about an hour on the phone, having my dad give me all the information. After a lot of frustration, panic and waiting for emails, I got my Fafsa in on time. this was a deadline for people who Direly need money to do college. I figured I would get a nice big amount, and things would go well for me.

I opened the letter and just about had a heart attack. Usually, I get $3,000 for merit scholarships and Grants alone. This coming year.... I have $800. I flipped out, reason being, My dad is harping on me to finish my studies by the fifth year. Since I changed my major in the middle of my sophomore year, he just assumed that I'd be done in exactly four years. The way things are, I'm going to have to take 20 credits PER Semester. not per year, Per Semester. 800 is NOT going to help me! So, I have to go talk to them tomorrow, or I"m not going to be able to afford finishing college!

So... yeah.... My nerves are a LIL frayed. Which explains why I'm getting ticked at some people for doing stuff, even though it may seem trivial to them. To see something go Right this week for me would be good....

Jester
03-17-2005, 05:52 PM

First off, I wanna apologise.

I know that I've been a bit snippy with people lately. You may be able to see it in my posts. I'm sorry. I don't mean to be. I don't want to be.

And, to be honest, I wasn't real comfortable putting alot of this stuff up here for everyone to see. It's exposing, a bit to me... But please. Bear with me.

No one here may care, and that's okay. I don't expect you all to care about my troubles. I just need to let some of it out. You can stop reading, if you want to.

It's just... *sigh* for a long time now, I've been struggling. Internally, externally... emotionally most of all. I'm just... unhappy. And it's become a constant unhappy, with no relief in sight. I just can't get over it. And I realize most of it is my fault. Without going into great detail... I have ruined what is quite possibly the best thing that's ever happened to me.

The one thing that did make me happy, only adds to my sadness now. It's constant and unrelenting.

So... I don't quite know where this leaves me. There are times I literally cannot see anything but the sadnees, the darkness that seems to grow every day. There is only one thing I ever truly wanted. I managed to screw that up, too. I don't think it can be righted. I'm not quite sure that it should be. I should have done things different.

I'm not sure what next, really. All I know is I can't do this anymore. I can't live like this. It's not living. I mean, I'm 25 years old, and bitter and sad enough for anyone. I've done the worst thing possible, maybe. I've lost hope.

I used to have good days... where I was happy. I used to look forward to at least ONE thing a week. NOw, it too brings me pain and sadness. Driving home after what should have been a good time, sobbing my eyes out is not good.

Again, no one may care. And I don't write this in the hopes that anyone WILL. I just... Well, I'm not sure why...

I just wrote it.

JD, you know, if you think about it, life isn't exactly what people tend to call fair and easy. Some have it easy, some don't. Those who have an easy life are those who tend to tell everybody that it isn't hard. But we all know better, life is hard. Money, boy/girlfreinds, work... being young(er) these days is not easy.

But you know what, the thing that keeps me going? It is the fact that I have plenty of stuff left to do. Finishing school, getting a job, get my shopping done, care for the dog(s), moderating the Drome. caring for people I like... all those things keep me alive. My advice is the same I gave my coworker "Find something to live for" Find a goal and live for it.

Being entirely happy is, accoring to me, impossible these days, too much stuff going on. But you can try to make the best of it.

And I do care.

Jo Dawn
03-27-2005, 11:46 AM
Trust me... I know that life is unfair. I never had illusions that it was anything but.

I'm not quite sure you understand, though. I can't FIND anything else to really focus on. I just don't care anymore. As for happy... No one is always happy. And if someone says they are, they're lying. I'd take just being happy for five minutes. Ten if I were lucky.

I'm coming to the point of just... giving up. I'm tired of giving and giving, and never getting anything in return. I'm tired of trying and being only disappointed. Every day I'm depressed. It's... It's not fun. There is no joy anymore, really. Maybe I already have given up.

Thank you for caring, though.

Anarky
03-27-2005, 12:04 PM
Well, now comes something that has helped a lot of people, including me when my parents divorced. Get a dog. Seriously, I mean this might sound stupid, but you have no idea what a dog can do for you. I mean, Jamey, Terry, Kimmi and J.J. have done so much for me. They are so emotional, so full of love. Well, but it's not easy having a dog when you're young, because then you don't have time.

And, you know, if you don't see "it" anymore, or stopped caring, then I'd change something in my life. You know, quit your job, get a new one... something.

Jo Dawn
03-27-2005, 12:09 PM
I've wanted a dog for over 10 years. I can't get one. My brother is too allergic. My parents don't want one.

So... not until I move out. I can't move out until I make more money. I can't find a new job to make more money at. So I'm screwed. Trust me, I'm TRYING to change. I've been trying... for a long time.

I have rabbits. But, sadly... I just can't get it in me to really let myself care as much about them, either. I hate this, I really do. I want to scream, I want to shout... but none of it helps. It never does.

I can't write my fiction anymore... I can't find any inspiration. I just... I just...

I'm the most stubborn person I know (besides one, maybe) and I'm sad to realize that I...

....

JD, I know how it is to go through such a deep depression that even just waking up seems like a Herculean feat. Losing interest in everything, even things that used to excite you to no end. When the motivation and energy to simply live life is absolutely gone. And to be constantly shadowed by what my psychiatrist loved to quack 'an overwhelming sense of impending doom.'

But I think Anarky's got it right. The best way to get out of that rut of depression is to change something. The only way I was able to kickstart my life again, and actually get up every morning without that impending doom hanging over my head, was to start exercising, meditating and eating better. I used to abhor exercise, and was always that kid in gym class who sat reading on the bleachers thanks to some new bi-weekly mystery condition. But they are natural ways to relieve stress and depression, and give me time to clear my head. After just a month of sticking with a steady routine, I'm noticably nicer, less irritable, losing weight (Hell f***in' yeah!) and I've almost completely ditched my walking cane (Double hell f***in' yeah!)

It's things like this incident, that make people not want to post in this section anymore. It's why I didn't for so long. Now I know why I don't feel comfortable sharing my feelings openly here anymore. You are ridiculed, and it is thrown back in your face, as was done here. That was not apporopriate. And rude.

You said in your last post, that As Ai said, people have rough times, but you got to move on. I just hate how people go on saying they are going to kill themselves and their life is unbelievable. But whatever, if you can't take a joke, don't cry to me.

For some people, talking just HELPS. All they want is someone to listen, that's all. And trust me, no one was crying to YOU one on one. Why would they since you feel so little for others? If you don't like it, then get OUT of this thread. Don't comment. IGNORE it's existence.

As for your comments and your not caring about the warnings, well... that just shows your character.

Yeah you really nailed me right there. I was only saying you were acting different when you replied to Peanut's post. Due to your problems in real life. But whatever, I really don't care, enjoy life to the fullest until you die. it was only a joke, just like other things said in this thread, but pick on the orange Warned X1 person. It's alright I will put the blade down.

But it was how you worded it. It was quite hostile. Some jokes that may be meant differently than they're taken are due to 'internet miscommunications'. I can't HEAR how you're saying things. I can only read them. So I, and others, may be taking them differently than they're meant.

I will get over it eventually, but this is a very tough time for me I love him very much. :cry:That's very sad news to hear, Shadow Leonardo. I feel bad for Ai's grandfather as well. it's not offen i come here, but i'm really down right now

i came home from school yesterday where my dad and mom were waiting. my dog, whose name shall be known as Terror (if you are wondering what breed she is, she is a Rottweiler. a very sooky and gentle one at that :P)), was biting her butt like crazy so they took her to the vet. when i saw them, my first reaction was "Holy sh*t. is she dead? did they put her down?" then they told me. Terror had a hotspot on her butt. i felt releived until they told me the bad news - she has an aulser on her eyeball. she is only three years old and i don't want her to loose her eye or eye sight in that eye. things are not worsening or improving. it's just that if she goes on me, i'll be so sad i won't even want to eat, drink, enjoy life, ect. it's just that she's a part of me, and if she dies, a part of me will die to. and if she's in pain or maybe in a way disabled, i wouldn't want her to suffer until her time comes

and Ai, i hope your Grandfather get's better soon

Im going insane. My girlfriend wants to go meet an online friend she has never met in person before. Then spend the night at his best friends house in the backyard in a trailer. The kids parents wont know either. What gets me the most is she wants to do this alone! She wants me to come if I can but I cant stay the night and watch over her. She refuses to listen to me and everyone else who keeps telling her its a bad idea. She says she doesnt care if she gets hurt and she doesnt care about my feelings. She wants to do this so badly because her parents would never even think of letting her do something like this and their going to be gone for the weekend. It's stressing me out. I dont want her to stay Im afraid she might get hurt. It's got me all blah and I dont know what to do. Ive told her everything I could possibly tell her and even had other people talk to her she just wont listen. Shes on her period to so shes having mood swings left and right and its impossible to talk any sense into her. Not only will she not let me take her she wants to go alone to! I have to meet her there if I want to watch over her during the day. She says shes tired of being protected but this is just not one of those things your try and risk it all on. Think of all the bad things that can happen if she stays in a trailer in someones backyard alone with someone she's only talked to online! It scares me! I finially got the both guys phone numbers out of her, the adress for the house she's staying at, and their first and last names. But Im still really unsure about it
I just dont know what to do. All I can do is go with her and hope she decides not to spend the night

I'm sorry, dude...but your girlfriend sounds like a complete idiot. That has got to be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. What the hell is the point in any of it? Just for a bit of risk? Honestly, if my girlfriend ever pulled some stupid sh*t like that, then refused to listen to me, her ass would be on the street faster than your ass on a sequel to DMC.

I say you give her one of those "It's this or me" talks. If she still doesn't listen...tie that b*tch to a tree or something.

Thats actually pretty weird cause if you want to meet someone at least you do it at a reasonable place at a reasonable time and with somebody else, I dont see why she wouldnt want you there and then what is she doing on a trailer ...,from somebody else alone with her parents out of town ..and spending the night?? Ill have to agree with peanut Its plain crazy :ohwell: I hope she comes to her senses and you can work it out

Just because she's academically smart doesn't mean she's common sense smart. I know plenty of girls who are like that. It's unfortunate, but that's just how it goes. There's not much you can do for her if she's that intent on doing it.

Back to Spit, I suggest what Voltron suggested - watch afew eps of "America's Most Wanted", afew movies where the pretty girl wants to met up with an online friend and it all turns wrong, or somethin'. Since he even told me on the phone himself "If my girlfriend did that I would be pissed off and I wouldnt let her go" So if he says that he better back it up or Im going to really get pissed....this isnt working out so well. I havnt eaten in over a full 24 hours now and I havnt had the urge to eat either. My ankles hurt really bad for some reason to and I dont know why. My Consoler gave me some advice...my Mom told me if she doesnt change her mind by Friday she is going to call her parents so my girlfriend cant go either way but she might break up with me if my Mom does that. I guess I really do love her because that thought really bothers me

Anarky

My suggestion, if it's that bad, tell her. Tell her how you feel, tell her what you're afraid of. Be honest with her and none of that "I read in a statistic somewhere"-crap. Tell her that it really bothers you and that you're afraid of losing her or her getting hurt. Hopefully she'll understand then.

And pick up eating again, it's something people do when they don't want to die.

damnhooligan
05-25-2005, 10:40 PM
I think there's only so much you can do to convince her not to go. If you really think its a risk worth calling her parents about, do it. Though, yeah, expect her to be throughly pissed off and possibly break the relationship off. She sounds quite stubborn, and unfortunately sometimes the only way people like that learn any common sense is through their mistakes.

Otherwise, if she still insists on going without you accompanying her [here's where I kick into high-paranoia-gear] at least make sure she's got a mobile and some mace. Don't let her drink anything that's been prepared/opened without her watching. Make sure she knows she can call you to pick her up whenever she wants.

The Hichhiker's Guilde to the Galaxy describes love as 'Mostly Painful'
This is not really true, but you go through so many different emotions when you come to barriers like these. Don't make yourself suffer. It's her life, just try to remember that. Sorta like a fork in the middle of the road. She can go one way, to an unknown future where she can get hurt, or the other, staying where she is. Just try to make her realize that Spit. And as for your eatting problems - sushi. Eat it. Lots of it :D seriously, it's the first step to recovery when you have an eating disorder and want to brake it or, like you, just can't eat. Ugh, my family is starting up that "influnce me to go into politics" bullsh*t again. They think it will make me more patriotic, and that my arguementitive skills will come into play. Ugh, just shoot me now. If I do anything they consider unamerican they flip out, but it's not as bad as it used to be. I, myself, am still job hunting. I was working for a couple months, but i quit to move. Finding a job at my age is pretty difficult especially when they see you have no real experience.

I've done lots of volunteer and community service, but that doesn't seem to count for much.

Of coarse I guess if I wasn't so picky about what job I'm doing I might get one faster. I just would not be able to stand working at a fast food resturant again. Terrible job on so many levels...even tho it has its few fun points.

Being unemployed doesn't suck... at first. Just see it as a long holiday. I mean, if you sit there and go "Awww, nay, I was fired... what shall I do?" all the time, you'll miss all the freedom. I was unemployed until 10 days ago. I now work in R&D... for now. We destroy things and get paid. Great job that is. Plus, my boss is an old 68-rioter and has great experience with motorcycles and motors in general. He's a cool guy and very not-so-bossy. He calls himself an "Old Anarcho-guy" which makes him even more fun.

Ehm, I go off topic... yeah, enjoy the fun while it lasts and finding jobs isn't that hard if you know where to look. Are there some sort of places you can go, where they find a job for you? Sort of a job-agency? Most of the time these jobs are only temporary and limited, but they pay good money.

So, as it looks like its been a while since anyone's fessed up to having a sh*tty day, I'll step up to the plate and make your day that much more sunny.

I had the mother of all migraines last night, while desperately searching for some cheap lodging in Rome. Not one of those "Just let me sit down in a dark room for a while" types, but "OH GOD, IT HURTS SO MUCH I'M VOMITTING UNCONTROLLABLY!" kind of migraine. (I officially declare Eau du Cherry Lambic/Caesar Salad/Stomach Acid the single most offensive smell in the known universe.) Problem was, I couldn't stop laughing, because my pain-riddled delusional mind rendered everything hilarious. And every time I laughed, I puked. The vicious cycle carried on for about half an hour before I passed out and woke up cold and alone at the foot of my bed, clutching a bucket and my teddy bear.

This, on top of the fact that I'm going on my last European holiday ever starting tomorrow for two weeks and I'm supposed to be moving in less than a month but the none of the places my husband applied (over several months ago) have gotten back to us yet, despite having a Sergeant Major bitch at them on our behalf... I'm just stressed the hell out. At this rate, I'm gonna be shoved in Fort Bumf*ck-Nowhere while my husband goes off to play soldier in the sandpit for a couple years. Crap.

Its entirely possible to be discharged from the military, but there's gotta be a damn fine reason for it. All save for the honorable and unavoidable ones (like being medically unfit for duty) come with some penalties and can limit the benefits you receive after leaving the service.

But quitting because of not getting the assignment you requested, not gonna happen. When you sign up, you agree take the good and the bad.

So basically, you sell your soul to the army? Isn't that against the constitution? I know that a large part of the swiss constitution is copied from the US' one, and there is this article that says, that you may reside wherever it pleases you.

You know, here, the army is something every young man has to do. Except for me since I'm unsuitable for military service anyways. And if they'd really want me, I'd desert.

damnhooligan
08-11-2005, 02:57 PM
Well, in the states, all of the Armed Forces are entirely voluntary. And aside from the occasional TV ad and recruiter giving you a call during your senior year in high school, there's not a lot of pressure for the average kid to join up. And when/if they do, the terms are pretty much laid out in black and white. You no more sell your soul when enlisting in the services than when you sign a housing lease contract.

Plus, when you get out, college will be paid for, you have access to cheap government loans plus a year of unemployment compensation. They've got to add benefits like that to keep it competitive with the civilian world. Its just a job, with a 3-4 year contract.

EDIT: OH HOLY F*CK - Word just came in seconds ago. We're on assigment to Colorado Springs, Colorado. AWW HELL YEAH!

It was like a dream seeing her walking towards me and then she grabbed onto me and hugged me >< It felt so good to have her in my arms again. I had to go within the next 30 minutes so I told her we should go get her baggage as quickly as we could. We were walking and no more then 10 steps out her Dad shows up out of no where. And calls her over...I stopped where I was I didn't want to hear what he had to say to me he let her keep walking to baggage claim. But moments later he sent her little sister after her, making her watch our every move. She kept pulling me off her and hitting me and yelling that I was choking her. And everytime Mai kissed me she kicked Mai or smacked her. I know it was all her Dad's doing Errrr >< They have to ruin EVERYTHING. So I told my parents and I ended up having to leave. She said she is still going to come on Sunday. I don't know how I'm going to tell her but my Step Dad is going to come with me to go pick her up in the morning. He's going to come to the door with me to make sure her parents don't try anything. He won't do anything to her Dad unless he hits her...I hope nothing bad happens.

Good luck.

That really sucks Spit... :ohwell:

What do her parents have against you and Mai being together and happy? They don't like you, they want to choose her spouse by themselves or they think she's not prepared for any peer relationship?

Honestly whats up with this people theyre acting crazy

Have you tried maybe having your parents talk with her parents in a nice way and try to ask them for theyre permission that way theyll know youre serious about the relationship, maybe they just need to get to know you better and find that youre a really nice guy.

Uhm... I dunno if that's such a good idea. I mean, what is your stepdad supposed to do, if he hits her? Hit him back? Bad move because a) her parents are going to hate your family even more and b) it could lead into a really bad lawsuit.

I'm just going to assume that she isn't happy with the treatment she gets from her family. Especially with her dad. And apparently he hits her, right? If so, recommend her to get something like a tazer gun, or a mace. It will stop him for sure and of course he will be pissed, but I mean, she doesn't live at home anymore, right? And you don't have an idea how many cases of domestic violence there are. She could always testify that she was afraid that this time was "the last time".

Of course, it's a really drastic suggestion, but I mean, you and your stepdad you can only protect her for that long, but what happens when she's alone with her family?

As a solution for the whole crap... I actually have no idea but to give them time and hope that her family will grow tired of mobbing her because of you.

They're old fashioned freak bags Spitfire. I've had some limited experience with these type of people. They don't listen, they don't care, and they don't want change in their life in any way, and they want to control the lives of the children.

From the way you've presented the info, I make the assumption that Mai's parents have treated her like this her whole life, and that when she's in town, she has to stay with them. I make the assumption that though she loves her parents, she can't stand living like this any more than you can being around them; but she has to because they maintain control over her, even at this age, by holding her college tuition over her head.

If that is the case, you'll just have to live with it, for now. They've got you both over a barrel and they know it. they sound like they enjoy it. Don't fight them. They'll just go after you harder. They want to drive you away from her out of frustration. Don't let them. From what I can tell, the only thing you can do is wait until enough time has passed that they no longer have anything to hold over her, then you both leave. Get away from them when you can. It'll take a few years, but the time will come (like when she's out of school). But that won't be the end of it. These people sound like they're crazy enough to chase you down for awhile. I wouldn't be suprised if her crazy dad came after you. It's just the mentality of these type of freaks. For Mai and you to break free of these nuts, the only thing you can do is be patient. if you try early, it'll just make it even harder when the real time comes. How they see it, it that you're taking their daughter away from them, and they want to

I know it dosen't sound like much help, but the only thing I knwo that you can really do is to wait it out and when the opportuinity to leave comes, take it, but not before. I'm sorry I can't say anything else, but there really isn't anything you can do outside this. It's a problem you can't beat, but you must escape. Just look at it like this. Its only a matter of time.

I really do feel for ya man. :)

My Step Dad is just there because if he's there I know her Dad won't pull anything. My Step Dad is pretty scary looking escpally to someone who is half his size like her Dad. My Step Dad is nice though ^^ But they judge people by how they look and not who they are <_< I told Mai if things get bad to call me. She still has to live with them until the last week of Setember where she goes to Davis and lives in a dorm there. She's visiting me on Thanksgiving and the last week of Christmas Break. She doesn't want to ever see her parents again once she moves out but sadly she will have to. But they can't keep tabs on her while she's gone so she can do what she wants. She's 18 now. They have no more power.

Your right TMB but I have a fighters spirit and their chances of breaking me are about that of breaking a steel door down. I don't back down, or give up. Ever. Her Dad can chase me down. I sometimes hope he does try to pull something so I can show him just the kinda person I am when you cross me. But my threats mean nothing so I don't say them to them. They judge people by their actions and they have no idea how unstable I can be when I'm pissed off. And I don't ever want to show people that side of me. Well part of me does. But that part of me has always been like that...the past is cruel

I'm stubborn sorry...

Of course that will be a great help... as if.

TMB meant nothing like "Fight him to death and back three times", I think he meant "Wait. Wait long and then you will get what you want". I fyou use your stubborness on being patient, then you're through this without any problems.
My Step Dad is just there because if he's there I know her Dad won't pull anything.
My piece of advice: Don't count on "knowing" when it's about emotional matters. People react rather odd, when they see their image, their existence or their family in danger. I used to work for social services a while back (in my four years of college we had to work for one year and I chose this hell, which was rather cool, looking back) and the things I got to see. Beaten women attacked and smacked unconscious in front of police officers, me having to actually knock a refugee out, since he felt like probably raping one of my coworkers... Emotions. So, don't count on them, you might trust the wrong feeling.

Waiting...waiting until she's out of collage. But I'm not going to stop seeing her just to please them. I can't and won't. And you guys don't mean for me to do that I know but this is someting deeper then just feelings. Emotions...this is a fight with myself more than anything else. I am two people. It took a long time to become this other person. But the old me wants control back and I don't feel like giving in just yet. I'd be considered insane I bet. Sometimes I argue with myself on what to do. Talk to myself...I need to think for awhile. Get back control, I'm sick of this crap. My counselor never paid any attention to it when I told her. She thought it was just some stupid childish game I played to get attention. I don't want attention. I don't need it. Just sometimes I need to vent. And writting out my problems or telling them to other people is how I vent.

Sorry if you guys don't understand my issues. It's hard to really even for me. I'm just posting it here because I feel better when I know someone cares. When life is at it's worst someone cares. Rather that person be a close friend or a distant stranger. It doesn't matter to me.

Thats messed up. Poor spitfire, but if he is beating her that's just wrong, how old is she? I dont care if they got the college tuition, beating a child is just wrong, child services should be in on that. That would make alot of things worse, but if he beats her hard enough, she needs to get out of there. Anyways, hope you can be strong and stay with her, cause she's going to need someone there for her.

Yeah, never trust school counselers. They're just pricks who are out for blood. Hell, when I was 7, my school counseler tried to put me in reform school because I pretended my jacket was a cape and that I was Super Mario during recess. Even had a mock Italian accent. They spotted me as a terget and tried to lock me up for that of all things. Then again, it was an "Arkansas" school, so there ya go.

Point is, everybody is unique. Your personality is what makes you special, and don't let anyone make you feel inferior because of it. You are who you are. If somebody else can't deal with that, well then fu*k 'em. :) :D

Nobody said anything about not seeing her. I mean that you should go on with the current situation until she's out of college. That's four years, and if youre the stubborn guy you claim to be then it shouldn't be a problem. Of course, you will hear a lot of crap from their part, but just don't care. Of course, they won't stop, but it will make it easier for you two.

Wow Spit, that's awful. I've heard of situtaions where fathers don't want their daughters to date...stories of fathers sitting on their front porch with shotguns, but come on...this is 2005.

It's awful that her parents won't let her do what makes her happy. You'd think that's what they'd want for their child.

Waiting may be the best option, but as crazy as her parents seem things may never change. Even if you and Mai continue on with your relationship and get married in the future, you'll still have this crap to deal with. Even tho they don't know you, it's obvious they don't like you and that may never change.

There isn't much I can say. I've never heard of such extreme measures.

If you and Mai really love each other you'll work it through and find something to alleviate, if not solve the problem eventually.

Things will work themselves out, Spit. i know it's had to do but you should pay no mind to the trash her familly pulls. I'd continue seeing her, being cautious in the process, yet still doing what you feel is necessary to keep the relationship intact.

O_o Man...just when you think things can't get any worse!

If her parents can't deal with the fact that she loves you and you love her in return, this might be a little bit of a problem. It doesn't really matter on what skin color anyone is or what not, we are all human. If everyone can just grab a hold of that simple consept, the world will be a much happier place

Of coarse, life wants us to have a life that can rival a soap opra, so it makes things harder for us :P Sadly, in this case, it just has to be with love

Geez, this is very long. So if I get this right, he took her laptop and she gave it to him. She hates him and stuff and points out various points of his fuzzy logic. Your name is Chris and that's about it?

Anyhow, what you can do... my suggestion is, that you're there for her. If she needs to talk, then listen, if she needs help, help her. Offer her a stay at yours, don't force her. I mean, what she lacks is choice, if you take the choice off her back, you'll probably hurt her. Oh yeah, and tell her to file a thingy with the police (my english just ran out of the door and broke its ankle on the way back) for domestic violence and psychical abuse.

*sigh* I always do something to mess it up. If everything is going perfect I come along and mess it up with one simple but utterly stupid act.

Earlier in the morning I had to go take a shower so I told Mai and I logged off. Then my friend came over and I didn't log back on AIM to tell her I was going to be hanging out with him. So she got mad at me and now she doesn't want to talk to me -_- I hope she's okay. I read her Xanga and yeah...I hope I'm good enough for her. I know I do stupid stuff alot and I probly don't deserve her...but I love her so much >_< I couldn't bare to see anything bad to happen to her. Or to be without her.

Not to be offending, but this relationship of yours sounds entirely too high maintenence for my likes. I know love isn't always rainbows and puppy dog tails, but when your partner stops talking to you because of a minor squabble, something's seriously wrong. Relationships that bounce from one extreme to the other have a tendency to blow up most spectacularly in your face.

Then again, you're both young and teen love is nothing if not exorbitant.

Yeah my Mom even pointed that out...she told me Mai just acts this way to guilt trip me into doing things for her or feeling bad when I don't do things for her. Then I get depressed and feel awful about it. I can see it now but I don't know how I go about telling her I'm fed up with it and she needs to stop. Because it's getting to the point where if I just don't even go on AIM sometimes to avoid her because if I do and she's on then she won't let me go until she logs off. And if I go early she guilt trips me into staying longer or making me feel bad for leaving.

KROW
09-06-2005, 07:50 AM
Well, if it were me, I'd just apologize for not being on AIM and leave it at that. If that's not good enough for her, just say something along the lines of, "Well, what else can I do but say I'm sorry?"

Be strong and stand firm. Hopefully, she'll respect that kind of authority from you. If it gets worse, guilt trip her and say that you two might need some time apart if little things like this get so blown up for no good reason.

Ryona
09-06-2005, 08:28 AM
I agree with Krow. It sounds to me that she's hanging on to you on AIM for as long as she can as a means to escape her Hellish life at home. Chatting with you online helps her to forget about the world around her, and as soon as you're gone, that crappy world of hers fades back in again.

If she becomes clingy, ask her if she would like to get together to hang out some time soon, then basicly wrap up the conversation there. It'll give her a sense of hope and pleasure knowing that she'll get to spend time with you somewhere and have a good time.

No she's my 6th girlfriend. She explained to me why she did what she did. She noticed everytime she treated me poorly that I would let her. I would let her walk all over me and I would never stand up for myself and yell at her or lash back. So when I finially did today she confessed that she acted the way she did last night to get me to do this. She wants me to stand up for myself more. Espcially with her, she said she knew she was treating me poorly and was about 5 minutes away from telling me I needed to do not tolerate her crap anymore. I actually feel alot better. And hearing that from her kinda opened my eyes to why my other 5 relationships didn't work...

spitfire666xXxXx (6:23:43 PM): If its no longer unique
spitfire666xXxXx (6:23:51 PM): then what do you need me for ><
kecharakittie (6:23:56 PM): the feeling may not be unique, but you are
kecharakittie (6:24:05 PM): if i wanted to leave you, i would tell you
spitfire666xXxXx (6:24:30 PM): What if you meet this Greg guy and fall in love with him instead
kecharakittie (6:24:41 PM): lol
kecharakittie (6:24:44 PM): then that's what i'm going to do
kecharakittie (6:24:52 PM): what happened to your no what ifs?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:24:58 PM): And that in no way would affect us?
kecharakittie (6:25:22 PM): would you rather me stay with you if i were in love with someone else?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:25:38 PM): Then you would be lieing about being in love with me in the first place
kecharakittie (6:25:45 PM): would i?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:25:55 PM): I dont want to lose you Mai
spitfire666xXxXx (6:25:57 PM): Not to anything
spitfire666xXxXx (6:25:58 PM): Not to him
kecharakittie (6:26:00 PM): i know you don't
spitfire666xXxXx (6:26:01 PM): Not to death
spitfire666xXxXx (6:26:12 PM): You made some promises to me I hold to heart
spitfire666xXxXx (6:26:15 PM): and I made some to you
spitfire666xXxXx (6:26:22 PM): I dont want to see them broke by either of us
kecharakittie (6:26:56 PM): i never said i was going to break anything
spitfire666xXxXx (6:27:15 PM): I just dont know how to react to you liking another gyy
kecharakittie (6:27:19 PM): how are you going to trust me in college if you don't trust me with an online friend?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:27:23 PM): Im sorry I over reacted
spitfire666xXxXx (6:27:38 PM): You wouldnt cheat on me
spitfire666xXxXx (6:27:43 PM): You wouldnt leave me for someone else
spitfire666xXxXx (6:27:46 PM): You told me these things
spitfire666xXxXx (6:27:48 PM): I need to remember them
kecharakittie (6:27:52 PM): lol
kecharakittie (6:27:54 PM): don't tell them to me
kecharakittie (6:27:56 PM): i said them
kecharakittie (6:27:59 PM): i know what i said and i remember
spitfire666xXxXx (6:28:03 PM): ahhh brb
kecharakittie (6:28:05 PM): hai
spitfire666xXxXx (6:29:00 PM): Yuck...
spitfire666xXxXx (6:29:03 PM): Anyways
spitfire666xXxXx (6:29:07 PM): Ive just shared so much with you
spitfire666xXxXx (6:29:11 PM): And I want to share so much more
kecharakittie (6:29:16 PM): i know
spitfire666xXxXx (6:29:38 PM): And you know my past
spitfire666xXxXx (6:29:47 PM): Ive been left for another guy so many times
spitfire666xXxXx (6:29:52 PM): This is probly why I get like this
kecharakittie (6:30:07 PM): did you love those other girls?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:30:18 PM): At the time I had convinced myself I did
spitfire666xXxXx (6:30:21 PM): Like a fool
kecharakittie (6:30:26 PM): stop convincing yourself of things then
spitfire666xXxXx (6:30:32 PM): And this is why I dont trust myself either
kecharakittie (6:30:36 PM): if you didn't love them, what loss was it to have them go?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:30:41 PM): None
spitfire666xXxXx (6:30:46 PM): But its the fact that it happened
spitfire666xXxXx (6:30:47 PM): and everytime
spitfire666xXxXx (6:30:50 PM): I beat myself up over it
spitfire666xXxXx (6:30:54 PM): because I didnt see it comming
kecharakittie (6:30:57 PM): stop beating yourself up over things
kecharakittie (6:31:04 PM): what do you see coming now?
kecharakittie (6:31:22 PM): ah, that was one thing i was thinking when i was walking with my dad back from the pier
kecharakittie (6:31:28 PM): you beat yourself up over the past too much
kecharakittie (6:31:45 PM): when you told me that you wanted to tell me you were going to go lay down first and made the >< face
kecharakittie (6:31:52 PM): i didn't like it
kecharakittie (6:31:57 PM): and i figured out in words why
kecharakittie (6:32:04 PM): you need to stop beating yourself up over the past
kecharakittie (6:32:09 PM): you figured out what was wrong with it
kecharakittie (6:32:12 PM): and you're fixing it
kecharakittie (6:32:18 PM): so why go "><"?
kecharakittie (6:32:22 PM): if you're fixing it
spitfire666xXxXx (6:32:26 PM): Im trying to fix it with you
kecharakittie (6:32:43 PM): so why continue to make the "><" while you're fixing things?
kecharakittie (6:32:48 PM): you're not making anymore mistakes
kecharakittie (6:32:54 PM): why still feel like you are?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:33:10 PM): I dont know
spitfire666xXxXx (6:33:17 PM): I always punish myself
kecharakittie (6:33:17 PM): think about it
kecharakittie (6:33:21 PM): why?
kecharakittie (6:33:24 PM): ask yourself that
kecharakittie (6:33:28 PM): and find out why
spitfire666xXxXx (6:33:33 PM): Id rather hurt myself then others
spitfire666xXxXx (6:33:35 PM): even if they deserve it
kecharakittie (6:33:39 PM): why?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:33:45 PM): I dont like hurting people
spitfire666xXxXx (6:33:49 PM): Other people
kecharakittie (6:34:10 PM): why should you put your neck out for them if they don't deserve it?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:34:30 PM): Sometimes I sacrifice my happiness for someone elses
spitfire666xXxXx (6:34:34 PM): Its how I am
spitfire666xXxXx (6:34:39 PM): Im very careing
spitfire666xXxXx (6:34:44 PM): I like to help
spitfire666xXxXx (6:34:51 PM): EVen if It doesnt benfit me in the least
spitfire666xXxXx (6:34:57 PM): Or I lose something
spitfire666xXxXx (6:35:13 PM): My friends ask for money I give it to them
spitfire666xXxXx (6:35:16 PM): Do I get ie back?
kecharakittie (6:35:16 PM): is it because you're very caring that you let people walk all over you?

Spitfire
09-13-2005, 07:14 PM
spitfire666xXxXx (6:35:17 PM): No
kecharakittie (6:35:22 PM): or is it something else?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:35:24 PM): But I do it anyways
spitfire666xXxXx (6:35:32 PM): Yeah -_-
kecharakittie (6:35:32 PM): don't respond right away
kecharakittie (6:35:34 PM): stop and think about it
kecharakittie (6:35:37 PM): sit and stop and think
spitfire666xXxXx (6:35:39 PM): No that is it
kecharakittie (6:35:44 PM): is it really?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:35:49 PM): When I was writting my essay
spitfire666xXxXx (6:35:52 PM): About the Caregiver
spitfire666xXxXx (6:35:55 PM): My Archetype
spitfire666xXxXx (6:35:58 PM): I thougth about it
kecharakittie (6:36:04 PM): it's not that you don't want others to think you're stingy?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:36:06 PM): Im to careing
spitfire666xXxXx (6:36:13 PM): No
kecharakittie (6:36:14 PM): it's not that you want them to stay?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:36:19 PM): I dont care what others think
spitfire666xXxXx (6:36:22 PM): No
kecharakittie (6:36:25 PM): are you sure?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:36:27 PM): Yeah
spitfire666xXxXx (6:36:31 PM): If I was like that
spitfire666xXxXx (6:36:36 PM): Why would I help strangers
spitfire666xXxXx (6:36:45 PM): Why would I help people I dont like
kecharakittie (6:36:55 PM): that's not for me to answer
kecharakittie (6:37:03 PM): i would help people
spitfire666xXxXx (6:37:04 PM): I just like helping
kecharakittie (6:37:08 PM): because i didn't want to be worthless
kecharakittie (6:37:11 PM): i had nothing left to me
kecharakittie (6:37:17 PM): i didn't care about anything else
kecharakittie (6:37:20 PM): i didn't care about myself
kecharakittie (6:37:24 PM): so why not make myself useful?
kecharakittie (6:37:30 PM): why not do things for others and not for myself?
kecharakittie (6:37:34 PM): since i didn't care about myself
kecharakittie (6:37:43 PM): it made me feel like i had a purpose
spitfire666xXxXx (6:37:47 PM): I help people and then they feel better and that makes me feel good. Someone else is happy and thats good I am happy for their happiness
kecharakittie (6:38:03 PM): that it was okay if i was worthless because i was using my worthless self for some purpose
spitfire666xXxXx (6:38:18 PM): You have many purposes Mai
kecharakittie (6:38:21 PM): lol
spitfire666xXxXx (6:38:30 PM): And one of them is making me happy
spitfire666xXxXx (6:38:33 PM): and you do a good job of it
kecharakittie (6:38:38 PM): i am telling you what i used to think
spitfire666xXxXx (6:38:44 PM): I know
kecharakittie (6:38:45 PM): why i used to go out of my way to help people
kecharakittie (6:38:53 PM): why i would time and time again let them waste me away to nothing
kecharakittie (6:38:55 PM): stretch myself thin
kecharakittie (6:39:08 PM): to help ungrateful people and give them a split second more happiness
kecharakittie (6:39:14 PM): while i gave myself hours more of misery
kecharakittie (6:39:19 PM): i was already miserable
kecharakittie (6:39:25 PM): what would any more misery mean?
kecharakittie (6:39:40 PM): if i could make others happy while they sucked the life out of me
kecharakittie (6:39:45 PM): and took up my time without caring
kecharakittie (6:39:51 PM): always coming back for more no matter how tired i was
kecharakittie (6:39:55 PM): and i would put out a strong front
kecharakittie (6:40:04 PM): smile with all the falseness and cheer i could muster
kecharakittie (6:40:20 PM): and make them happy again until the next time some god awful **** happened and they came back to drain me even more
kecharakittie (6:40:44 PM): i did not do it because i was a nice person
kecharakittie (6:40:53 PM): i knew i wasn't a nice person no matter what people told me
kecharakittie (6:40:58 PM): i did it because i had nothing else to do
kecharakittie (6:41:00 PM): i had no self respect
kecharakittie (6:41:09 PM): i had no self esteem
kecharakittie (6:41:15 PM): i had no confidence in myself to be worth anything
kecharakittie (6:41:27 PM): that is why i helped those who grabbed onto me as if they were drowning
kecharakittie (6:41:34 PM): and that is why i let them pull me under with them
spitfire666xXxXx (6:41:48 PM): I see
spitfire666xXxXx (6:42:04 PM): Well thats a bit different then why I do it
kecharakittie (6:42:07 PM): lol
spitfire666xXxXx (6:42:08 PM): But I see your point -_-
kecharakittie (6:42:17 PM): i wanted to be nice because i had nothing left to contribute
spitfire666xXxXx (6:42:32 PM): Well like you said the past is behind us
spitfire666xXxXx (6:42:36 PM): Right?
kecharakittie (6:42:43 PM): yes
spitfire666xXxXx (6:42:50 PM): *kisses* then lets have awonderful future
spitfire666xXxXx (6:42:51 PM): Togther
spitfire666xXxXx (6:42:59 PM): You and me
kecharakittie (6:43:30 PM): *kisses*
spitfire666xXxXx (6:43:35 PM): I love you
kecharakittie (6:43:38 PM): i plan to be with you
kecharakittie (6:43:45 PM): things don't always go according to plan
kecharakittie (6:43:49 PM): but that's what i plan
spitfire666xXxXx (6:44:04 PM): Only we can make this kind of plan work
kecharakittie (6:44:30 PM): if the plan doesn't work, i don't want to hear any blame
kecharakittie (6:44:40 PM): you can blame me, that's fine
kecharakittie (6:44:43 PM): i wouldn't mind it
spitfire666xXxXx (6:44:49 PM): Dont talk like that
kecharakittie (6:44:59 PM): but i do not want to hear you blaming yourself for anything
spitfire666xXxXx (6:45:11 PM): I dont want to the plan not to work
kecharakittie (6:45:25 PM): *sigh* i love you
kecharakittie (6:45:27 PM): i really do
spitfire666xXxXx (6:45:31 PM): mmm I love you too
kecharakittie (6:45:42 PM): if things don't work, they won't work
kecharakittie (6:45:49 PM): we can try anything to make it work
kecharakittie (6:45:59 PM): but if the ship is sinking and beyond repair, i'm not going down with it
kecharakittie (6:46:02 PM): and i won't let you either
spitfire666xXxXx (6:46:14 PM): Yeah I know
spitfire666xXxXx (6:46:37 PM): You told me you wont leave me for someone else and that is honestly my only concern when it comes to losing you
spitfire666xXxXx (6:46:40 PM): I believe you
kecharakittie (6:47:09 PM): *sigh*
spitfire666xXxXx (6:47:22 PM): You promised me you wouldnt
kecharakittie (6:47:37 PM): if i ever can't fulfill that promise, i'm sorry
spitfire666xXxXx (6:47:48 PM): You act like you plan on leaving me for someone else
kecharakittie (6:47:52 PM): lol
kecharakittie (6:47:53 PM): i don't
spitfire666xXxXx (6:47:58 PM): This is why I get so damn insecure about it
spitfire666xXxXx (6:48:08 PM): You leave it open
kecharakittie (6:48:11 PM): i don't plan on leaving you
kecharakittie (6:48:16 PM): i told you what i've planned
spitfire666xXxXx (6:48:21 PM): mmm yes
spitfire666xXxXx (6:48:25 PM): I feel stupid now
spitfire666xXxXx (6:48:30 PM): I dont even know why Im worried about Greg
spitfire666xXxXx (6:48:32 PM): He has a girlfriend
spitfire666xXxXx (6:48:39 PM): and from what he told me hes happy with her
spitfire666xXxXx (6:48:40 PM): -_-
spitfire666xXxXx (6:49:02 PM): And he seems very respectful so knowing you have a bf he wouldnt make any moves on you anyways
spitfire666xXxXx (6:49:14 PM): I dont know why I never think of this before I say something
kecharakittie (6:49:32 PM): he is respectful
spitfire666xXxXx (6:49:57 PM): Even if you came onto him Im pretty sure he would push you away and remind you that your with someone
spitfire666xXxXx (6:50:01 PM): Not that you would
spitfire666xXxXx (6:50:02 PM): But yeah
kecharakittie (6:50:03 PM): lol, yes, he would
kecharakittie (6:50:09 PM): i would be very disappointed if he didn't
spitfire666xXxXx (6:50:12 PM): I forgot how nice he was when we talked
spitfire666xXxXx (6:50:48 PM): mmm I want to fall asleep with you
kecharakittie (6:50:51 PM): lol
kecharakittie (6:50:53 PM): that'd be nice
spitfire666xXxXx (6:50:57 PM): Sunday
kecharakittie (6:51:14 PM): i'm not going to try to shield you from anything that you need to see
kecharakittie (6:51:24 PM): and i'm not going to try to hide anything from you unless you want me to
kecharakittie (6:51:33 PM): and i'm not going to like it one bit if that's what you prefer
kecharakittie (6:51:47 PM): ah, greg and his girlfriend broke up a lil while ago
spitfire666xXxXx (6:51:50 PM): You know whats going to needlessly worry me and whats not going to affect me so you cn decide that yourself
kecharakittie (6:52:13 PM): so you would rather me not tell you something if i know it's going to needlessly make you worry?
spitfire666xXxXx (6:52:24 PM): Well if it isnt going to affect us being togther
spitfire666xXxXx (6:52:31 PM): and its just something that would worry me for no reason
spitfire666xXxXx (6:52:35 PM): Then theres no point in telling me
spitfire666xXxXx (6:52:44 PM): Ill just get worried
kecharakittie (6:52:48 PM): *sigh*
spitfire666xXxXx (6:52:49 PM): Over nothing
kecharakittie (6:52:58 PM): i'd rather be able to tell you anything
spitfire666xXxXx (6:53:04 PM): You know
spitfire666xXxXx (6:53:06 PM): Your right
kecharakittie (6:53:07 PM): the meaningful and the meaningless because they all mean something to me
spitfire666xXxXx (6:53:20 PM): I need to learn a little more
spitfire666xXxXx (6:53:30 PM): Honey you can tell me anything
spitfire666xXxXx (6:53:53 PM): I need to learn to deal with things
spitfire666xXxXx (6:54:00 PM): I tell you anything
spitfire666xXxXx (6:54:04 PM): You should be able to do the same
spitfire666xXxXx (6:54:34 PM): I havnt been in a mood lately
spitfire666xXxXx (6:54:37 PM): Litterly
spitfire666xXxXx (6:54:41 PM): Ive had no mood
spitfire666xXxXx (6:54:45 PM): I feel empty
spitfire666xXxXx (6:55:04 PM): Mai?

kecharakittie (6:55:54 PM): and it's not a little that you need to learn
kecharakittie (6:55:55 PM): it's a lot
kecharakittie (6:55:59 PM): but the first of it you have
kecharakittie (6:56:03 PM): you need to learn to deal with things
spitfire666xXxXx (6:56:27 PM): I deal with alota things -_- theres just some I chose not to
spitfire666xXxXx (6:56:33 PM): I only tell you about those
kecharakittie (6:56:38 PM): that's what you need to learn to deal with

Sorry I know it's long but you really have to read it to understand why Im so weird...cant we just have happiness for one day without this pointless drama. It's like she says this crap to me on purpose just to get me all worried and concerned. I shouldn't have to worry about this crap all the time. I'm fed up with it. I need a break from all this drama. She knows how I am and I understand she wants to be able to tell me anything but telling me she loves another guy does nothing but get me worried. And I've had a past of girls leaving me for someone else so no matter who she is or if shes the most trusting girl ever I'm obviously going to be concerned. I have trust issues because of it.

You're a fickle and petty guy, Spitfire. And I want my 5 minutes back from reading that. :(

Stop worrying so much. And let the high school drama go. You're better than that. Have some faith.

I have really bad trust issues -_- Thank You for reading it though. I should let it go. I don't know why sometimes I don't. Sometimes I just need a kick in the right direction.

You know Spitfire...I was really quite confused by what she was saying. Maybe she was just trying to be honest and not promise you something she couldn't do?

I don't know. From what I read I can understand why you would be worried...If KROW were to start typing that type of thing to me over a chat or even face-to-face I'd go absolutly friggen insane with worry.

kecharakittie (6:09:43 PM): o.O i didn't say i'd rather spend time with him
kecharakittie (6:09:45 PM): i don't think
kecharakittie (6:09:48 PM): hmmmmm
subliminaldeathx (6:09:56 PM): direct quote
kecharakittie (6:09:56 PM): maybe but not in those exact words
subliminaldeathx (6:10:03 PM): i even asked twice to make sure he got it right
subliminaldeathx (6:10:51 PM): but the curshing thing in itself
kecharakittie (6:10:57 PM): ?
subliminaldeathx (6:11:12 PM): you have a crush on him?
kecharakittie (6:11:54 PM): not that i know of
kecharakittie (6:11:57 PM): possibly o.O
kecharakittie (6:12:03 PM): but i more like the feeling he gives me
subliminaldeathx (6:12:18 PM): how so?
kecharakittie (6:12:22 PM): i dunno
kecharakittie (6:12:24 PM): when he's on
kecharakittie (6:12:36 PM): he gives me the same feeling i get when i'm laying with chris and listening to his heartbeat

How could you not worry when it's someone you love deeply? I don't see how Ignoring something like that could be possible.

Don't let anyone guilt trip you about this Spitfire. Isn't she basically admiting to liking another guy....even when he's in a relationship? How can you be fully trusting when you know that kinda thing?

KROW

Kee-ripes.

Here's what you do: Watch her close, but do it subtle. Act all, "La la la, I'm in love and it's all good, la la la," but at the same time watch for telltale signs of this cheating garbage. You'll know it when you see it.

Of course, if you don't want to do that, thinking you shouldn't have to and not need to, then you don't have to.

You could have a talk with this Greg character about it all, just to see his reactions to all of this. See if his interest is perked, or not, or whatever.

I'm wondering... Is this the same guy that she wanted to meet and spend that night in his house some weeks back?

Spitfire
09-13-2005, 09:58 PM
Yeah it's the same guy...I talked to him before and he reassured me he wasn't intrested in her like that. But he's single now so you know. She wouldn't cheat on me. I just don't want to see her leaving me for someone else. That's happened to me too many times. Thank You guys. I think it'll be fine. She told me for her to leave me for someone else she would have to love them alot more then me. And she loves me way more the Greg. One of her friends i talk to assures me everything will be okay. Greg seems like the kinda guy who respects her enough not to flirt with her so yeah. I just have trust issues.

The funny thing about trust? Most times it's stems out of self-doubt rather than actual mistrust of someone else. I know how that feels. I used to think that I wasn't good enough and expected to be cast aside. Now, though, I could care less. Age'll do that to you.

This Greg guy...you want I should rough him up a little? ;)

But seriously, I couldn't deal with being in a relationship where my girlfriend admits to liking another guy. What's the point in the relationship? I'm not telling you to give up, because if you love her then you shouldn't, but perhaps you really need to weigh your options, pal.

Were I in your place, I'd cut my losses and run. Not out of fear for her cheating, but simply because no healthy relationship is going to have this much petty squabbling and drama. I think every one deals with crap like this at one point or another, so it's not as big of a deal as one would like to think. It just sounds like both of you are wound so damn tight that you can't just enjoy the time you have together, because I can guarantee it's not going to last forever. The chances of growing old with your high school sweetheart are pretty slim to none these days. So enjoy it while it lasts and make the most out of it.

Quick question: are you her first serious boyfriend? If so, that could explain a good lot.

So, this isn't really anything massively important, just hugely annoying, and since most of you guys'll understand what this is, i'm bitching here. good? good.

My roommates are pretty cool and all... but they know less then I do about computers (quick trip to Ai's thread should show you just how sad my roommates are...). The downfall... they *insist* on using their Apple AirPort 802.11b router, ****ing ELEVEN B, when I have an 802.11g router right next to it.

I've explaind that my router has faster transfer rates. I've explaind that it has a stronger connection. I've explained that we can actually wire a printer to it. I've shown them how many more security options (it has WPA and WEP, both at up to 128 bit encryption).

So, the reason they stick with their crap pile of a router? "Well, it's Apple... so we got it so it'd work with our Apple computers, and airtunes". To this, I connect their iBook to my network, and run airtunes off of it. Then, I run airtunes off of *my* PC. And I show them how much faster my PC's going on it. What do they do? "well, we'll just run both of them." DURH!. >_<.

Seriously, I love Apple. They've got some cool ****. I blame my roommates idiocy on this one. Last night, I had to go without internet access because they thought i'd be fun to unhook *my* router. That's just not something you do to someone who's addicted to the internet like I am.

Katie
10-18-2005, 05:52 PM
ouch! that sucks!

Two things its not good to not have...internet and cable. On the days when I feel like veging out at home I need those two things and with winter coming up.....

Anyway, I got one for you guys...and I usually do not talk about stuff like this, but I'm really freaked out about it so *deep breath* ok.

Most of you know my love life sitch...but if you don't, I'm a widow going on two years now. 29. I don't think much about anything but Trent as far as guys go and since he's not coming back, i have settled into being happily single. And I really was happy, satisfied in it all. I figure most people really never get to meet their soul mate, but I did. And If I never have that again, I'm ok with that. and honestly, I never have connected with anyone since him.

BUT last week one of my ex boyfriends that I have not seen or spoken to in five years showed up at my apartment out of the clear blue sky. I mean, I have moved away from our old home town...changd phone numbers....for all practical purposes dropped of the radar of my old life. Yet he still managed to find me.

and that wouldnt be horrible except he is the only other guy besides Trent that made me wonder what if. And I feel like I am being disloyal to Trent having these feelings. I really was feeling ok about everything but suddenly I am so sad again...and what's worse, I do not really know what this guy even showed up again for and now he calls all the time and comes up to visit me all the time. I think I'm losing it!

Kid Icarus
10-18-2005, 10:42 PM
Well, I'll give you my advice... ignore it if you want :).

It's cliche, but I would think Trent would want you to carry on with your life. Find someone else to be happy with. Not a replacement, by any means. No, no one can ever replace a soul mate, period... but someone to just be happy with.

This guy must care about you. I can only imagine the ammount of trouble he went through to find you. I say give him a chance, see what he's about now.

Things happen for a reason. If you belive in some kind of afterlife, maybe Trent led this guy to you?

Katie
10-19-2005, 05:08 PM
See, that's just it. After Trent died, I would have these long conversations with him....I still do....I told him that if he was ever ready for me to date, all he had to do was communicate something to me....something he always used to say when I was sad about us being apart from one another...he used to say "You're being awfully pathetic"

Well this guy said those exact words to me. I've never told ANYONE that that was our deal.

But the reason this guy and I split ways back in the day was because he lied to me and was engaged to someone else while he was seeing me. I just can't trust him that this isn't exactly the same thing all over again...just me more vulnerable.

I don't typically share my personal life on here because frankly, it's none of your business. Now, I don't mean to be rude or anything... I just don't share the inner workings of my existance with people I don't really know, it just isn't me.

I haven't been feeling myself lately.

Things haven't been going well for me for a few months now. I've felt like I was in a pit and every time I tried to climb out it'd only get steeper and slippier and I'd fall back to the bottom. I tried so hard to get out of my rut and was finally able to do so by convincing my parents to help me go back to college full time.

I pick a degree and sign up for my classes and I'm good to go. Right?

Wrong. A week later, I'm let go from my job. I am now jobless with out enough money to pay for my half of college tuition. To make matters worse, the district decides to cut out the payment plans and make everything due by the sixteenth of december or you get dropped!

Well, knowing that I don't have the money, my father pays for both halves, a total over six hundred dollars; but, you see, my mother has been going to college for a while now so we had to pay for her too. Add another hundred dollars.

Some of you out there know that my dog Murray got Luekemia. Well, naturally, we tried to save him... but this meant medication and lots of it. Add another hundred to the list. We did well, we made sure he had all his medicine when he needed it! He was too far gone...

I don't know how many of you have pets, or how emotionally attached you are to them; but, I was very close to Murray, I loved him dearly. Guess who woke up two days after his vet visit to his labored breathing? Guess who, though money less had to take him to the vet to be treated? Yeah, me. I don't cry over many things, but I sure as hell cried over this. They kept him there for observation only to the decide he has to be put down.

He's not suffering any more, but the cost of his cremation isn't cheap.

What does this all mean? A very small christmas for my entire family. I can't even buy presents because I don't have any cash. My own father went out and bought me something to give to my mother and told me not to get him anything! Wounded pride right there. The gift is something my mom wants, and yes, I'm thankful for what my dad did... and has done; but it's still a blow to the pride!

And now to the point that stirred me to even right this pointless rant.

I haven't been able to really talk to my boyfriend Scott in a while. He has been busy with finals up at SFA and I've been job searching amung other things. Tonight I got called by Jessica and asked if I was going to DM my D&D game and I consented. I asked her to pick me up only for her to say, 'I have guests over.'

Nothing out of the ordinary, she's got people over all the time; and so, I got Mike to pick me up. We get to Jessica's house and there Scott is, sitting at the couch eating a frito pie and watching the Mummy. Natrually, I'm happy to see him and want to give him a hug, a kis, the works.

He simply waves to me saying 'Hi,' and goes back to watching the show. Confused, I tried to get him alone to ask him what's wrong and he says, 'nothing, don't worry about it.' This in itself tells me that there is indeed something wrong so I ask Jessica what's up only to have her tell me she's not getting into it.

I put two and two together and quickly decide that I didn't feel comfortable in that house anymore, (can you blame me)? I announce I'm walking home and I leave. Scott follows and begs for me to stop. I demand to know what's wrong and he says, 'I think we should seperate'.

WHAT THE HELL!? Sepearte? We weren't even married!

I ignored the stupid term for a break up and asked for his reasons why. Scott's usually a logical guy so he should have his reasons. He says that I need someone more my pace. What the hell is that supposed to mean? 'More my pace'? Am I too fast, too slow, what? He then tells me that for the past six months that he's felt like my brother more than my significant other, (nice to know he fornicates with people he sees as a sibling).

I don't see it. I don't understand how I was more a sister than a girlfriend and frankly, I don't want to know. It's stupid, and it's something that some b!tch would tell a guy so she can break up with him guilt free: "I don't see you as a boyfriend, you're more like a brother."

He tells me he still loves me and that he's doing this 'for me'. Bull. He tells me that he wants what's best for me. I don't buy it. Scott even pulls the 'long distance' card on me, saying it's another reason. As if it wasn't 'painful' for me too.

I have never ever cried over any break up and I've been through some pretty ****** ones in my short dating career.

I cried over this one.

Now that I've gotten over all the points that I wanted to get to, I've more or less forgotten what I wanted to say about it. This all has happened in a months time and I sort of feel that my forcast calls for even worse days to come.

Howdy folks,
I just got off work-and my mother gave mea ride home. But she seemed like she was crying. She started to talk to me and then burst into tears...this was her story to me....

"I am so heartbroken, I never knew how awful Enedya (My sister) can be with your father. *Sob* Well your dad came home from work and at his dinner.Butthen your father wanted some coffee and some pastery. I told your father I hadn't bought any. Your father said, there was 4 pieces of cake in the fridge just give me a small piece of that." So I cut a small piece for your father and served it to him with his coffee. A few mintues later, your sister came in,looked in the fridge and screamed,"WHO ate a piece of Jason's cake?!" Yoyr sister gave your dad & I a nasty look. I tried to tell your sister it was just a small piece and that i only took it cause your dad wanted something with his coffee. Your sister growled in angry and said Jason's sister gave him those left overs for him and her. I said I was sorry but your sister just started screaming and arguing over the slice of cake.
Your father stepped in said,"The food in this house is for everyone!" But your sister refused to listen and broke your father's and mine's heart. I began to cry and went into the room where Jason was and said I took the spiece of cake and would pay for it. Jason said "NO! IT's ok, you can have some."
Your father went upstairs hurt by his daughter's reaction and I followed him, we began to cry about how our daughter could be so cruel over a piece of cake then we thought of you and remembered how good you are to us."

:( This upsetted me- My sister is a snob and has always been a drama queen snob. I mean if you had cake and your father was hungery would you not let him have a piece of your cake? That just disgusts me! My sister doesn't realize how good parents we have. She just cares about herself and cares more about others then her own family.
*sigh* I could never harm my parents in that manner,if they want some of me cake ...I'd share.wouldn't you?

Jade Im really sorry that your going through a rough path right now It must be pretty hard to lose your dog plus, having all those expenses plus having your boyfriend acting like a jerk.. maybe you should think that youre better off without him I dont think it would be fair to you to waste more time with him

Holidays are supposed to be mostly for family gatherings its sad that a lot of people just think of it as gifts and parties, so dont worry even if this isnt your best year money wise at least you have your family that loves you to share the holidays...

^|_|) What she said :P

I know where you are coming from Jade. I had a really bad time about two years ago, and a pretty bad time this year. Just keep your head up and sing your own turn, and find a way to let your fustration, anger, sadness, confusion and all other bad emotions out. I discovered martial arts last year, and I found that it really helped. When I felt down, I would go and do a lesson. If I still felt bad, I would go to another lesson the next day. Just focus on something and let your life revolve around that until you can pull yourself back together. It worked for me, but it may not work for you. Try it though, and most likely you'll feel at least a little better

*hugs Jade and gives her a dragon of good luck*

Talk about a WERID twist to a scary moment in retail. I was terimanted cause I hit a spoiled rich boy with a bag of chips. He was one of the cashiers too. Here is what happened.....

I was done checking out customers and decided to clean around my register because customers tend to leave stuff on the floor or near the register.THe cashier next to me was a spoiled rich brat who decied in a sarcastic tone and embrass me and say,"GET ON YOUR REGISTER!" I looked at him and asked,"What customer?" He again embrased me and pointed to the customers that I couldn't see because there was an aisle blocking my view.
Well the customrs came & I cleaned up again, he got off his register and got in my face and told me laughing,"Get on your register! Get on your register!"

He laughed at thisso I hit him with a bag of chips. He whined and told on me.THe manager spoke to me- I was terimanted. The rich brat just laughedas he saw me leave and Phillis the manager who helped get my name known for the credit card situation had a BIG ol grin on her face.

i tell you that DISGUSTS me, instead of working as a team, people at the front are against each other fighting over hours.

 Oh well that job wasn't worth it, God has something better for me where fat ho ho women won't get jealous and bitter and where bratty spoiled rich boys won't get there way.

So everyone knows what's up incase i dissappear for a while...

I have court in nine and a half hours. I should be sleeping, infact, but meh.

I'd been driving without insurance for a while, hit an ice patch, hit a car (less then $100 of damages done to theirs with no injuries, thank the gods), got a citation, and now I'm goin to court.

Do I expect them to put me in jail. No, not at all. This isn't anything massive, and It'd be ****ing retarded if they did do that. Do I expect fines up the wazoo? Of course. I'd be the stupid party if I didn't.

Anyway, regardless of what all happens (I figure a big fine, suspended liscense, and a deadline to get insurance to get my liscense reinstated, and a very stern slap on the wrist and frown), I'll find someway to keep you all updated.

Wish me luck.

I kill anyone for $35,000 plus travel expenses.

But then again, I'd have moral conflicts with him, since basically, you're at fault. One does not attack (and yes, you physically attacked him) co-workers, no matter how big of an asshole they are. And people who attack co-workers are not able to work in a team, thus unsuitable for the work they're doing. I'd try a cubicle if I was you.

It all turned out okay. Pleaded no contest, 'cause I'm not an idiot and I knew I'd get off easier.

$194 in fines, I have to get insurance by sometime next week (thank god payday's thursday), and I have to pay $50 to have my liscense reinstated.

Oh, and the sucky thing... I have to get a 'special' insurance, where the insurance companies can charge me up the wazoo. 2-3 times as much as I was paying before.

Lesson of the day: Keep your cars you drive insured, folks. It really is cheaper.

My girlfriend said she wanted to take our relationship back to square one. She says it's not a bad thing and that she feels it's what we should do. She wants to take things slower. I wonder how slow that is. This doesn't make to much sense to me. You can try to deny what we have already done all you want it doesn't mean it didn't happen. She said "This isn't how I saw my relationship going when I thought of having one" Well if you ask me life doesn't go the way you want it to. And everything we did was always her idea -_- How can she just go back like that? She starts all these things and then decides it was bad and acts like we shouldn't have. Last time she said this we ended up going even further then we had before. I don't know if that can happen this time. We went as far as we could last time. I doubt she will change her mind this time.

I just had trouble wrapping my head around all of this. I think I know what to think. But at the same time I don't. Part of me thinks this is the stupidest idea I have ever heard. And the other part in some ways isn't bothered by it. She refused to listen to reason. She told me it could only be the way she wanted it and we couldnt find a muteral agreement. She begged and pleaded and then gave me the 2 hour crying session. For once in our relationship I let her hear what I was thinking when she first told me. And she gots mad at me for it because I believed it was wrong at first. It took me an hour to convince myself to even consider saying yes...I just don't know.

Anarky

It is. You can't just CTRL + Z life. As you said, what's happened, happened. And no "Oh, it's all forgotten" will make it go away. But yet people still think that they can forget...

"This isn't how I saw my relationship going when I thought of having one."

That right there is the kiss of death. It sounds like she's more in love with the concept and production of having a relationship than she is in love with you. It's fairly easy to get caught up in, particularly because her parents disapprove of you so severely, Montague/Capulet style. And unfortunately, things haven't been living up to her expectations lately. But if she were to end the relationship with you, it would be akin to admitting defeat and proving that her parents were right all along.

So instead, she tries to reinvent it. And it's only a matter of time before she tries to reinvent you. I don't mean to play the devil's advocate, but run while you still can.

I don't want to lose her >_< She's very confused right now. A good friend of mine told me today the best thing I have heard on this subject. "Wait it out, just see how things go for awhile and if it's no good then get out of there." I think I'll do just that. I love her and I know she loves me. She wouldn't lie and she's very abnormal and hard to figure out. When she says these things she really means them. She doesn't have double meanings to her words. It sounds odd but that's just how she is. She's like no other women I have ever been with. She's not easy to figure out she's a puzzle. And for some reason I like it like that. Yesterday she told me she likes it when I make her mad.

I'll take your words with me, I find some truth in them. Thank You

It's best not to listen to my advice, since I might make it worse, and since I have never been in a relationship (man I suck) but hear me out -

I'm dead certain I have said this before, but oh well. Your girlfriend is a very nice women. I have spoken to her in PM here at the Technodrome, and she had a very positive attitude whenever I spoke with her. You've tried talking, you've tried reasoning. Maybe in your future you'll have to spend some time away from her. This is painful, I know it will be, but at times girls will need time to themselves. Until then, I agree with your friend and just wait it out. If you want her back and things aren't going to well, take her out to her favorite diner or restrant, or take her to the movies or something. Flowers as well...if you want. Just try to express to her that you love her, even though she knows it. Physical ways of showing love are probably the most affectionate

Man I watch way too much TV :P

Remember my thread of So I met a Turtle fan? Well this guy's name was Jesse. He is very cute and a very nice guy. But he is a christian as well. I have nothing against this ,plus I too am a christian but this guy found me on a personal my mom talked me into making a while ago.

The only reason guys are on that is because they are looking for someone and usually in my experiance the guys who chase me want to marry me quickly. Well Jesse and I had alot of fun turtle hunting and talk by email and cell phone but I don't think he & I connected.

My mom is mad at me now because she thinks I chased him off. WEll if I did I'm sorry. But I'm just nt ready to settle.I want to have fun with my friends, focus on school. You know just enjoy the single life.-Is that really wrong?

Bah, I got school to do.I like my freedom anyways. The idea of settling down and having a family. Not me. Besides I hate to attack my own race, but what I seen is the hispanic men around here just want to marry you quick, make you pop out a few then trap you.

Plus from what I seen in my experiance, I wouldn't be happy with 1 as my bf/husband. Plus the idea of cuddling and kissing isn't me.I had ALOT of heartbreaks and I'd rather hide behind a cartoon character crush for now.

I know it's stupid but I perfer it.

In fact, my last experiance with a guy friend taught me that being 24 and a virgin still really ticks off a alot of girls.

Here is what happened,
I met Mario last Thanksgiving, he was one of the Managers of Kroger. Everyone said he was a total ass but he fell for me love at first sight. I told him,we should hang out. He loved that idea! All we did was go from mall to mall, movies, explored Houston, went to his house to play ol school video games and discussed stuff. Never was sex, kissing or anything mentioned. We had so much fun with each other acting like kids again it never mattered. We even wanted to go TMNT hunting and build a site together over a year ealier. But Mario also had friends who hated that I had influncd him to stop drinking like an idoit. His female friends hated me cause I am 24 and look 16 and the fact I refused to "Live in with Mario" and sleep with him. In fact I told his friend, that's not my thing.- she got pissed!
Instead of respecting our wishes, his friend began to call his cell phone and then ask,"Oh....is SHE there?" He would say yeah she's here. Then his friends would whine and hang up. This 1 girl would call him 6 times a day and say the same thing. In fact she would drive to his house and spend time with him or spend the night. There was 1 incident where Mario told me she drove them to a "Club" then took them home and tried to sneak a kiss from Mario.
Then 1 day it happened, Mario picked me up an seemed pissed at me. We where driving and he told me he had overdrafts of 900.00 and put the blame on me. Then his friends called and said to come over for some drinks. It was also mentioned that 1 of their friends was being abused by her husband so they met up with her to cheer her. I asked Mario,"They don't like me do they?" Mario turned to me and said ,"No.They don't." Mario told his friend he was going to take me home & he'd meet them in half an hour.

When Mario dropped me off he only said,"I'm sorry..." Then he left.

I was shocked.I could of cried but I was too shocked to cry or get angry. I sent him a goodbye letter and moved on.

I don't understand why are friends so disrespectful to another friends's happiness? If Mario found a good, sweet, christian girl who was "Pure" and came from a good family why be so vain and ruin the relationship? I never understood this

Love is not something that is understandable. Love is just... love, you know. Weird, irrational and all that. Love never ever makes sense. Besides, being a virgin is overrated anyways, there's no way you can prove whether you are a virgin or not. Your word has to be enough. And if you really love someone virginity doesn't matter anyways.

And I don't like the word "race" in your post... not at all. Thinking in races can only lead to trouble.

Love sometimes occurs to me as a treaty.

There are two singles. Out of the blue, the one is infatuated by the other and starts to show interest in the other one. Now look at that other one. It (I don't want to use a gender in here) may not be interested in the first single as much as the infatuated single is interested in it, but nevertheless it likes the other one may accept its flirtation and possible relationship - for the sake of not being alone ('cos solitude sucks and society presses). So they have a deal. And sometimes the other single starts to love the infatuated one.

In my opinion it works in 90% of cases. It's not like "He saw her, she saw him and and in that very moment BANG! The Holy Infatuation Exploded In Both Of Their Hearts!".

IMHO, of course.

Though you form a special bond with someone if it's your first time, and espcially if it's theirs too. Well that's how I felt anyways.

WORDS

Sounds to me like Mario's initial intentions were far from honourable, but he genuinely enjoyed spending time with you. But eventually, he got so frustrated with having to wait and decided to just burn his bridge with you in a blaze of glory.

And as far as his friends being jealous of you and standoffish, I can understand. Have you ever had a friend who once they found a boyfriend/girlfriend/etc seemed to change overnight and never hang out anymore? Instinctually, you want to blame the person who caused them to change. And perhaps the fact that he stopped drinking and started spending all his time with a pious virgin struck them as somewhat hypocritical of him. I think once he really realized that your relationship with him wasn't going to ascend to something sexual, he blamed that overdraft on you to redeem himself in the eyes of his friends.

Good riddance, man. You don't need to be surrounded with people like that.

Oh ****, now that really sucks. I hope you get over it soon. I'm really sorry to hear that.

But from my experience at hospitals I have the following to say: Sleep as much as you can. If you get a couple of days off (Hahaha, some free time...), then you should sleep. You'll lack enough sleep again when you get outta there. Besides, there's nothing to do at a hospital anyways.

Hey folks,
Well today I recieved my first unemployment check. This is the note they left on the letter. "It was a misconduct for my actions on the job." But the reason for my terimanation has nothing to do with this misconduct."

Would you prefer "physically assaulted co-worker"? I say you got off better than expected. You even got your unemployment money right after you were fired. I had to wait for like two months before they even talked to me about money.

So, be happy about that. Besides, "misconduct" on a CV sounds way better than "attacking co-worker". The shop was actually good with you.

And, in addition to that, you can be lucky that you aren't sued because of this. People were charged for less and got to pay. Just imagine that "I didn't know what this wicked woman wanted. First she threw a pack of crisps at me and I was expecting so much worse. She could have hit me or something. And, oh my God, the look in her eyes... it was terrible."-talk you would hear.

And finally, being angry and frustrated about something is no reason to become delusional. I'd just go with misconduct when you apply for future jobs. People don't like applicants who talk rubbish like that, especially when the facts are clear (like in your case).

Turtle Dove
01-12-2006, 08:59 PM
Well it's not that that bothers me, is the fact the termination wasn't related to the misconduct.

Example: if someone here broke a major rule and was warned then did it again was warned again ,then again and he was banned. That's related to the musconduct correct? What I think happened here was the where looking for an excuse to get rid of me.I have 2 feelings.... 1. That time I told you guys about the poilce officer contacting me and asking about the stolen credit card or 2. the fact I brought a doctor's note so I could avoid the back room because the heat & dust was making me sick.

And there's no chance that you were fired because you physically attacked a co-worker? I know that if I was a boss and I had an employee who attacks other employees, I would so fire that person. He or she would no longer be supportable by my team and can therefore go wherever he or she wants, as long as it's not my team.

You were fired because of that attack, but they were nice and gave you a "misconduct". Now you have to deal with that. As much as you complain, it won't change anything.

I dont like to be one that drops a lot of my problems on everyone else, but well....i'm at the end of my rope.

Some of you know i was in a car accident at the beginning of last week. i have three broken ribs and a broken pelvis. no big, i'm not doing much walking (or anything else) lately, but i will heal eventually and be ok.

what happened was an 18 wheeler merged into the car i was in and crushed us against a concrete barrier. I was in the passenger seat. Lucky i made it. My friend who was driving was not. he died tonight.

I'm having a bad time of it all b/c i only lost my husband like 2 1/2 years ago. just when things are ok, they are not again. i am having those same bad thoughts that flooded my mind before. It is like every time i miss death by just that much. wears you down.

anyway. I just needed to trant and i feel better now so I am going to try and go to sleep. maybe I will see y'all tomorrow.

Just spend this time getting better and taking care of yourself. And don't let yourself get too caught up in that ol' "feeling of impending doom" for too long. Reflection is healthy, but obsession just ain't. Have you ever considered going to group therapy before for folks with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder? Well... I feel like I need to write this. I just don't know what its going to develop into, so bear with me.

Some people might have seen that I've been kinda absent from the Drome. Obviously with the Holidays on us and schoolwork, I don't get to come on here like I used to. And when I do, well... needless to say, a break is usually in severe need. My patience just isn't what it used to be..

Now don't get me wrong. This isn't one of those "poor me" posts with the violin music and melodrama. If anything, I can't stand that kinda stuff. Maybe thats why I've been kinda more quiet in parts of the forums now. I don't know. I just couldn't seem to do anything without getting targeted or harrassed.

Well, as I'm sure some can relate, working through my senior year as a fine arts major, not to mention dealing with the weird Illness that I've been suffering for the past number of months.... the forums were kinda out of the area of importance. The fact that I was getting more stressed out with visiting the forums than with some real life stuff made it real apparent that I had to step back and look at my priorities.

After several months of trying to deal with the stresses, I finally told myself that enough was enough. I got away from the forums, got away from the computer and focused on Real Life stuff. And I'm proud to say that despite the illness and everything, I came out of this semester with a 3.70.

The point of this post? I really don't know. Well, I do know some of it. I hate getting into the petty battles and the high school drama. I hate being on bad terms with folks, whether its my doing or not. I love the drome. Its my online home. Which is kinda why the next few months are going to be a bit difficult.

See, my senior project is going to be a Film, which is going to take up any sort of free time I'm going to have this semester. And then, I graduate... and I really.. don't know whats going to happen after that.

I'm kinda scared. Not of losing the Drome (I'm hoping to get net within the months after May), but of the post-college life. No more school? no more worrying about getting enough supplies for classes? Spending my days working at the store and paying off student loans. For what? Artistic students are in such high numbers, but the actual jobs in such short supply.

I want to write. Draw. SING. I've shared my talents with people both online and on campus. Teachers try to pull me into their classes. I've even got positive comments from important figures in the fandom. But even with all of this..
My worst fear is that I'm going to be stuck in a job that I'm overqualified for, and never get out there and make use of my talents. That no one appreciates what I do/can do. Its like I've been suffering a panic attack that's lasted for the past 10 years. These worries never leave me. They disappear for a time, but they always creep back.

So, after dumping all of this into those willing to read my spiel... I'm still not totally sure about why I typed this. Maybe its to just Explain why I've seemed so withdrawn the past number of months. After all the strength -- I don't know why I feel so fragile... Maybe you guys can see something I don't.

Anarky

I tell you what, it will be the biggest adventure ever: Life. Sure, I might be unemployed at the moment and it doesn't look good for me, but every day is a new adventure. There's just so much around on this world. And if it's not enough, there's always TV.

I mean, I have to fill out forms I've never seen before, go to places I've never been to, see people I don't know, it's an adventure. Besides, you can chuck out all your school stuff and then redecorate your room, which is also pretty neat.

Of course, work itself is rather pointless, but you'll learn stuff that school could never have taught you. And the working world is a cold and harsh place, full of stupid people who think they are someone. But hey, those people wille be around for the rest of your life and there's no way to get rid of them.

But it will take a lot of courage and that other stuff I can't remember at the moment. But it's worth it. It really is.

Kind of what I thought...:| I'm willing to read, Machias, and I can relate...

I've had a lot of the same fears you have. You've survived this long, so you also know how and when to push these fears to the furthest corner of your mind so you can stay focused.

Anyways... I haven't actually gotten into "the industry", myself, but... I know people who have, who were amazingly talented but were turned down, had their blood, sweat and toil stolen by developers and they never got a cent for their creations... but through it all, they realized a few things: that they loved what they were doing, and that they had to...

They said, "never forget who you are."

I've told a few other people here, but some of my teachers -- a few of them from Disney, and the late Joe Ranft (God rest his soul) told us the importance of contacts. (Which, I am sure you've heard by now.) Keep in touch with people. Talk to them, make sure they have at least have met you and have heard your name and have said your name and spoken to you in polite conversation. It is incredibly important, because who you go to school today COULD possibly be working at Pixar a few years from now, or... doing something equally as amazing. Stay friends with these people. Who knows what position they might be in to help you.

Overqualified? MB, you know that in almost any profession involving art, where you are some kind of employee, you will have to spend quite a while doing work you are overqualified for. That's how many animators got their start. Dear god, architects have to be draftsmen for like a decade before they get to do anything they want.:dead:  Crazy bosses (which you will sometimes never lose) It's hard crapola, but, as Anarky said, worth it. After weeks of not getting any more than four hours tops sleep per night, you see what you've done. You realize why you put up with the BS. The hard stuff. Art is worth it, if it means that much to you. Keep reminding yourself of that, and always keep searching for opportunities to improve your situation if you can. If you can possibly help it, try not to sell your soul. That's where the remember who you are bit comes in handy.

John Mahoney, who did a lot of the cool character designs for Treasure Planet said "Don't stop to contemplate the universe." Otherwise, your whole life will pass you by -- all your opportunities to do great stuff ... You won't live, you won't get things done. So, to heck with those self-depricating, self-doubting voices. They ruin everything. Fight them every day. You have to.

Do the things you love. Survive. Be a good friend to others. And survive.

And if it helps, stay away from the Drome. I'd be happy if I didn't hear from you for a whole year, so long as it meant you could devote your fullest to what you care most about.:) Go forth, think rationally, do passionately.

Thanks guys..

I have to say that since I got back to school last night, getting that off my chest and just reading these posts from you guys helped me.

Things have certainly been an adventure thus far. My worst fear is that after all the schooling, I’m going to be stuck working as a cashier for the rest of my life, with no way out. However... I had a few opportunities placed in front of me today, school… maybe future wise today. We’ll see how that develops.

But trying to think about all this stuff for the future, the new semester, all these different factors… I really didn’t feel like myself. Looking back, I can see where I just became an emotional mess.. I really wasn’t me. Having been away from things for a month, just being with family and focusing on Work and my phrogs, I feel like I’m getting myself on the way to some sort of recovery. Hopefully I’ll get back to talking with you guys like I used to soon… I want to be me again.

All I can say is good luck, Machi. Life after school really is something different, as Anarky said. Working for a living is a pain in the ass, and quite honestly, I never feel like I'm going anywhere or doing anything worthwhile, no matter how hard I try.

We're all still young, though. Things will get better down the line. I'm sure of it. For now just hang in there and try your best. That's all any of us can ever do.

I realized something today. I think I made a big mistake majoring in Computer Science.

Back when I was in high school searching for something I'm good at, I saw that I was a really good program writer. I kept my code structured, I went the extra mile, and my teachers were impressed with my potential. This made me happy back then, so I decided to go into that field. However, in the back of my mind, I didn't really want to do it. My mind just told me that it was all I could do with myself.

During my second year of community college, I took a Physics course. I was so fascinated with the subject. I did studying outside of what the class wanted out of me, and I did problems on my own. I did so well in the class by the end. That was when I realized I wanted to do something with Physics, maybe Theoretical Physics.

Unfortunately, I was too far ahead with my Computer Science program, that it was basically like starting over if I changed my major, so I brushed it off and kept going. But when I was sitting in my Concepts of Information Systems class this morning, I looked around and heard things that the professor said, it kind of hit me that this wasn't what I wanted. I don't want to be a part of this. Sure, I'm good at computers, and I have a vast knowledge of them, but typing thousands upon thousands of lines of code for a program isn't my idea of a career, nor a future.

I'm confused. I'm unsure what I should do. This is my last semester at community college before I transfer to a four year school. Should I transfer and change my major only to start over again, or just keep going now? I know I should follow my heart, but starting over doesn't seem all that worth it right now.

Switch man. THe worst thing a person can do is to get into a career or the next 60 years that they're not that fond of. It's better to make the jump now while you can swing it than to wait til later and wish you had.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was going to say. If you know that you want to do something, then go for it, do everything it takes to get there, because, in the end, it's your life and your future. And I can't wait to see this article in the newspaper: "Steve Rhen wins Nobelprize". :D

My worst fear is that after all the schooling, I’m going to be stuck working as a cashier for the rest of my life, with no way out.

There's always a way out. If you don't like it, quit. Easy as that. It actually is a lot easier than most people see it. Sure, bills and contracts and blah, but if you don't like your job then quit. You're young, you're clever and you're good-looking, so I wouldn't worry about not finding anything new.

Or maybe, you never know, you like being a cashier. My aunt could be a teacher. She could teach English, French, History and Art but she's happy with what she does now. She can afford her books, her cigarettes, her flat and her bus ticket and that's all she needs. What does she do? She's serving people at a restaurant and she's happy with it. Or take me, I never expected to be happy trashing heaters all day long, but it was one of my best jobs. (This is just a story I tell people with fear or "lowly" jobs.)

Ai Takahashi: Bridge the gap. Go for an Engineering degree, maybe Mechanical or Aerospace if you can find a good school locally. Computer Science is used rather heavily in both career fields, as well as an assload of physics. Do a bit of research... You'll probably find most if not all of your community college credits transfer flawlessly into the degree. My husband's going into an AE programme at Georgia Tech soon, having a background mostly in Computer Science.

Most community colleges don't have the upper-level courses that really define one degree from another, therefore the change may be fairly easy. You won't have to "start over", but you may have to spent a little more than four years finishing off that degree. Maybe a semester or two, depending on how the credits transfer. I'd have a chat about it with your conselor, to see just how much work it details.
