I'd do that if I still wanted to do Computer Science, but I don't want to do it at all. After giving this a lot of thought, I've decided to leave Computer Science entirely and go for Physics. I know most of my credits transfer. After reading up most college's programs, I don't have to completely start over. I'll just be set back a year. So when I transfer, I'll be basically a sophmore. That's not so bad. Hopefully, everything will work out in the end.

But Ai... are you really sure you won't lose your interest in Physics within the next 2-3 years - and then you'd like to switch once again?

That comes from a person who changes his life plans once in a while...

Ever had a dream & thought..WTF in the morning? Well last night I had a dream that woke me up and I thought ,WTF?

Here is what happened,
It was about the 4 Ninja Turtes in the 90's version before Red Sky.They where arguing in a store that appeared to be a mall. I was there with a guy and saw them. Mikey loked at me and asked,"Why is he here?" I looked at the guy and he was like a light skined dude with brown hair. He just shrugged and walked off. I told Mikey ,"i don't know." Well Leo and Don where arguing more and Mikey, Raph & I left. We went outside and it was all green with hills. We found some meadow area and then it became a make out session!
Meanwhile back inside Don handed Leo a soap bar and said,"Just take the damn thing." The soap was blue and shaped like a tounge. Leo took it and put a red bow on it then bought it. :o
Don went to the turtle van and saw a couple shells out in the feild and called to them. Raph blurted out,"Busy! Catch you later." Leo came out in a dress then said I'm walking home. Don got in the van an left but it was one of those streets you see in movies.

Thats it....I told my friend online and he said,"What did you do last night?" I tld him I was talking to a friend on MSN IM, had a snack and watched the downloaded TMNT eps. He said the downloaded one gave me that nightmare. I think he might be right! What a messed up dream.....

Anarky

Now what exactly do you expect us to do? I have nightmares every now and then, and it usually helps me a lot when I tell myself that it was just a dream over a nice cup of hot chocolate. Or when I wake up in the middle of the night I open the window and sit with my back against the heater, waiting for something to happen. I prefer the latter, to be honest, gives me more "space" to think. But to be honest, there's no real "cure" for nightmares.

If you're just thinking that you should share some of your random dreams, then why did you use the Café, where people seek advice and help? A seperate thread would have done too.

Oh whatever. I was just sharing something.I'm sooo sorry I offended the great Mod Anarky. Maybe you should just back off and let people post w/o offending them and trying to make them look bad publicly.

One of my friends online says dreams usually tell you something, he asked if I knew someone while watching TMNT asa kid.I said yeah. My friend thinks maybe this guy really liked me and I offended him by choosing cartoons over him. Well when your a kid you don't always think of relationships. I know i didn't. Still a messed up dream..

Well he's only stating the truth, this thread is for problems and asking for people to solve them, while people can't solve nightmares, everyone gets them, and its normal, we just have to deal with them, get them off your mind, maybe you should actually get a real problem before posting in here.

Right, well...

Technically, The Cafe is strictly for advice or rantings on problems... as is the nature of the thread (and explained throughout). Please let's not take corrections personally. It's no big deal, and I don't want to make it such.

And, thinking on it... maybe we could make a thread on dreams and their meanings. I always was very interested in things like that. In fact, I have a few books on dreams here in my room! And the internet is a plethora of different dream sites, (not all saying the same things as per the meanings) so comparing them could be fun! :)

Meh. The HDD was just being stupid. No noises comming from it now... weirdness.

And, I just remembered that I'll make some money this comming weekend. Whee, and stuff.

And my income taxes are going to be enough to FINALLY get the parts to the new computer. I can't wait to get it, build it, and get up to speed. *sigh*.

Spitfire
02-06-2006, 04:04 PM
*sigh* I'm tired of making art...on one cares. I make wallpapers, drawings, movies, music videos, whatever I make. No one cares. All they can do is complain about it. They find some little thing to nit pick at. They either say nothing at all or never point out the good just the bad. There are exceptions but their few and far in between. I feel like I'm not at all appreciated and if I stopped making art all together no one would care. I strive to be recognized and no matter how hard I try I just can't make it there.

I push myself further each time and each time people just want more. Like I'm never good enough. What happens when I can't do any better? What happens when I'm at my limit? Then am I just useless? No one is going to look at my work 15 years from now, 100 years from now and say "Wow I really like that"

This is senseless whining I know but I've put up with this for far to long. I'm never good enough for the people, I never give them the stuff they want. I never will be.

There's something you must realize Spitfire. People are stupid. Do what you want and don't give a fu*k about what they think about it.

Spitfire, were you making art because you wanted to please and impress people, or were you doing it because you genuinely enjoyed it? Did Picasso quit and cry about how people don't appreciate him after critics blasted Guernica as "a hodgepodge of body parts that any four-year-old could have painted?" Hell no.

"Art" is a tough business. It's very oversaturated right now and it's hard to make much of an impact. Those who succeed, however, must have a thick skin and be absolutely dedicated to their craft. Yes, recognizition and praise does wonders to fuel the pen, but you can't rely on that alone. Not everyone is going to like what you do, but to hell with them.

You're young, and to swear off something that you've got an obvious talent in simply because your aren't garnishing the attention you want is beyond foolish. Reconsider.

Kid Icarus

I can't add much more to what TMB and DH have already said...

But I really do like your artwork. It's interesting, it looks cool as hell, and even if there are spots for improvment, no one's *ever* perfect.

An artist is never, and never should be, totally satisified with their work. If they hit perfection, why should they create anymore? Just something to think about.

Spitfire
02-06-2006, 10:39 PM
You guys are totally right, I mean I know this I just. You know when someone is being an asshole to you and they say something and even though you know you shouldn't listen or take it to heart you do anyway? You try to defend yourself but the things they said bother you so much that you can't get the right words out there, and thus fail at defending yourself. This is what happened to me. It for some reason discouraged me. This person told me I'm not an artist so I showed them my DA site and they started mocking my artwork even further. I don't know why it bugged me so much. I've always had the "If you don't like my work tough crap" attitude about my work....but it just didn't apply to me this time.

I won't quit art no matter how bad things get or how hurtful ones words are. Being an artist isn't just about art. It's about sacrifice, you make things now to be remembered later. Ever lasting fame is your goal and to be regonized in your lifetime is truely something special. I guess I strive for that and in that process I forgot how young I really am. Hell I'm just a kid and no matter how mature I act or am nothing will change that.

Thank You for the kind words.

Huh? That's the weirdest reason for making art I've ever heard. Fame? Recognition? I always thought that making art is about giving something to the people, making them smile or feel sad or whatever you want to do with the piece you're working on. Sure, fame and all that are nice, but they are usually just a nice sideeffect to the whole thing. Artists who are just in for the money and the fame usually won't last too long.

No not money, to be remembered. And I don't do it to be remembered I want to be remembered for doing it. I was always raised to make a name for myself and become something. I was susposed to astblish my place in the world and stick with it. I make art for people and I want those people to remember that. I want to make my parents proud and become something they always wanted me to be.

My Dad tried to make it in music and he couldn't I want to suceed for him. He wants me to surpass he cheers me on and wishes I do the best. I guess it's a family thing. It's how I'm repaying my Dad for how good he was to me.

Jesus... don't sweat it, dude. Frankly, how many people do know your music? I didn't see you post a link to your latest works here. And I still didn't receive the last two tunes.

And you can't say I wasn't positive about it. The fact it is not appreciated enough comes from a little number of its listeners so far, methinks.

And Spitfire - don't listen to some people. You can't just please everyone. Just please the ones that honestly enjoy your art.

I know what you're going through Spitfire. I too, am thinking I'm over looked one too many times for it to be funny. If I'd known any better, I would stop posting my works and just call it crap all wrapped up together in a big ball of text begging people to take me seriously as an artist and to look at my pictures, heck, even make a comment on them. Everyone loves my pixel art, and I don't mind that. It's the actual pencil and paper kind of thing, the one that illustrates who I am and my style as a person. The lack of responce is the thing that really upsets me. Now that I think of it, I may have even posted my last peice of artwork on the Technodrome. If anyone wants to see any of my works that aren't pixelated can just look at my deviantart account

But enough about me bitching. You are one of the best artists I've ever known Spitfire. You're work is incredible, no matter what you think, or anyone else for that matter. Even when I have kids of my own, in over a decade, I'll still remember your artworks. You know what you're doing and how to express yourself. And that is all you need to do as an artist. Express yourself, no matter how bad you think you are

And Ben? I also know what you're going through. I've got a serious case of writers block. It's now roughly one month since I've written anything O_o But all the same, I look forward to your Quickies, no matter if you think they suck or not :)

Awww Spit! I know what it's like too.

How many times have I looked at a new post to one of my stories and wondered 'what if I just didn't finish this? Would anyone (besides Masked Ninja) notice?'

We all feel like this occasionall. Our works are like our babies. Ben's music, your art, Stryker's stories...my stories. We put our souls into them and sometimes something said just kinda catches you off guard.

I look at your work and I am amazed. When I first started here I thought I would maybe share some of my art....but there are so many here so much bettr than I am and you are one of them. I am happy just to sit back and take it all in. :D I know I am guilty of not posting my comments when I find something is to my liking or whatever...but I bet we could all say that.

Just remember, you do have an audience...all of us do...and be happy for that!

Heheh, hope you fave lots off fun Gwgtrunks. I'm sure orginizing the championship will be a blast :D

And now...time for my ranting!

As some of you may recall, I've had a few friend issues last year. If you can't, here's the short version - A so-called 'good friend' of mine found another friend last year. I had no objections until I was excluded. I packed up, moved on, and never forgave them

Come this year and I'm as happy as can be; I have a lot more friends, I'm in a few clubs, and all of my teachers are interesting. What more could I want? A life without my ex-friend would be a start (I'm going to call her Miss Malice from now on). The first week of school is back in and I'm drawing; busy in my own little world, but totally aware of what's going on around me. I was aware of a little shadow a the corner of my right eye, but paid no attention. I keep on drawing. After awhile, I notice the shadow again. This time it gets larger, coming towards me. But without looking, I knew who it was - Miss Malice. She had her books with her, staring down at my drawing. After a minute, she sets her books down next to mind and sits right in front of me, staring at me draw. Truely unnerving. I ignore her and keep on drawing, hoping she would get the message and go away, but no. She sat there and stared at me as if it was the only thing of significance in the world. After five minutes, I have to look up to get something and she stares at me. I have no choice but to react.

Me: Oh! Miss Malice. I didn't see you there
MM: I was sitting here for five or ten minutes
Me: Oh... *thinks* No duh
Me: So, why didn't you say anything?
MM: I just liked watching you draw
Me: ...okay...
MM: It's funny
Me: ...?
MM: You keep on drawing and then rubbing things out. It looks quite funny
Me: ...yeah... *thinks* RETARD!
MM: ....*stares at me*
Me: ...*really quickly* I've got to go to class... *picks up books and runs off*

Now she's following me everywhere. No where is safe! I go the libary, she's there within ten minutes. I stay at my locker, she comes to me when everyone is gone. I go to the bathroom, she isin the next cubical for the love of god! I'm trying my best to sake her, but I don't want to really talk to her. And whenever she finds me, she does the same thing - sets her books down next to mine and watches me do whatever

So...does anyone else think I can put a reistraining order against her if all else fails? :ohwell:

Anarky
02-08-2006, 03:38 AM
I'd try "all else" before going for a thing like a restraining order. That would be really hard to enforce by the way, since you're at the same school and bumping into each other is kinda unavoidable.

Maybe she wants to talk to you about what happened. Not necessarily apologise, but maybe she wants to end it for her. Or maybe she wants to have you back. But conversations like these are really hard to start, so she probably doesn't find the right words. If I was you I would ask her if there was a reason she's following you.

Ra
02-08-2006, 03:47 AM
*nods* Yeah. The problem is that I've been living with this for about a week  It isn't exactly 24/7, but it's enough to make you wonder if she has nothing else better to do or if she's turning into a mock stalker (And I seriously doubt both options)

I'll ask her tomorrow (or whenever she starts following me) why she's...well...following me. As you said, it's not really an easy thing to talk about, but heck, I just want her out of my life. Or as away from me as we can both get

Thanks for the advice Anarky :D

Okay, at the ened of last year I posted a rant about losing my dog, boyfriend and Job with in a week of each other. I just thought I'd give you an update.

Dog: My mom has gotten the 'family' a new dog. Family is in quotes because it is more her dog than anyones. It is a three year old pure bred whippit by the name of Jake. He his skittish and stares at everyone... Just this monday I had to chase him a mile and a half (just in case you don't know, a whippit is a type of GREYHOUND) after some guy's dog scared him off. Needless to say, I'm not exactly happy with him at the moment.

Job: Still jobless, but that's okay. I'm focusing more on school anyways. So far I've got a B in most of my classes, I'm working on As.

Ex: I figured out over the past month and a half a few things about Scott. One was that he actually CHEATED on me four months prior to our break up. Now, what really makes this sting was because Scott is one of those people who claims he would NEVER cheat on someone and yet... he went out on a date with some chick and made out with her. Secondly, he is now dating the girl he cheated on me with.

I let the anger fester a little while becuase I finally sent him this message VIA IM:

Know this: You are nothing but dirt in my eyes.

You talk the talk, but don't walk the walk. You said you wanted to be my friend? I don't want to be yours. I will give you the respect you deserve as Jessica's friend, but you and I are not.

Then, I blocked him. I'm sure I might regret this later, but right now... I don't really care. Even when it does come to bite me in the ass I might just turn around and bite back. I hate hypocrates, even if it is hypocritical for me to say that.

Anarky
02-11-2006, 07:33 AM
I dunno whether this is just one of my claustrophobic attacks I have from time to time, but I don't really care at the moment.

Everybody seems to expect something from me at the moment. My family wants me to write more application letters, but I can't apply for jobs that don't exist. But that simple math-thing won't go into their heads. And in addition to that, my grandma also thinks that I don't get enough excersise when I sit around all day and wait for better days. So she had the brilliant idea of getting me a subscription at the local gym. Of course, this is the worst idea someone could have and I wouldn't be caught dead in a gym, but you know what grandmas are like. So that covers my family, they're worrying too much. I mean, I'm more or less fine at the moment. Sure, I'm broke, but what the hell do I care? I've been broke before and I survived. My brother is actually quite okay at the moment, at least one thing I don't have to complain about.

Then there's my buddies. Of course, they're worried about my current situation as well, but now they stopped making jokes about it and started to do the same my family does. I just can't hear it anymore, I can't stand it. Then, in addition to that, my two best friends have a sort of different view of "spending a night at the pub". One wants to just sit there, drink beer and talk about stuff. The other wants to get women to sleep with him. So everytime we're going out, he's going "Let's call in some b*tches". And because I know most of the people, I should be the one to get him those "b*tches". Of course, I don't want to do that, since I'm not really a guy who knows prostitutes (okay, I do know prostitutes, but I wouldn't want them to be around him) and I'm certainly no pimp. So much for that.

Then there's that girl who more or less obviously wants me. Okay, fine with me, but she couldn't have picked a worse timing, especially since she was in a relationship until like two weeks ago. And I feel as if I'm not too innocent in those two breaking up. But it gets worse, her ex is actually a really nice guy and I don't want to fight with him or anything.

To cut a long story short: I can't stay at home, I can't go to the pub, I can't talk to anyone. And I can't even afford the booze to get drunk.

The End.

Maybe you are just not in the mood to deal with those issues right now... , but I can assure you that your family and friends only nag to you about it cause they care for you and love you, which is a good sign, so don't take it personal....things will get better, and enjoy your friends even if they have weird petitions lol..

Since I woke up today I feel like Im about to K.O anybody that tries to bother me and I almost did awhile ago.... I don't know whats wrong with me lately I guess I just had enough of everything ... I really hope its just temporary and or just a bad day.. Its really not like me...

Hello...

I have a small problem...

I'm curious...if a girl chatted you and you found out it was someone else's girlfriend sent to test your flirting skills, how would you feel?

Now that same guy's calling to MY home to insult me, filling my e-mail account with hate mail, and he's ganging up with his friends to do it...I'm thinking of breaking all of his limbs. What would you do if you were me?

Anarky

I think I'd be the worst person to ask... I'd go and introduce him to my old pal baseball bat. But history's shown me that that leads to lots and lots of problems.

You could go to the cops and let the system work for you for once. They're pretty good when it comes to crap like that... at least over here they are.

Hire a hacker to mess up him and all his friends PC's. Get an AIM bot to rape his PC with windows to the point where he can't use it. Or find where he lives and see how tough he acts when a pissed off guy is at his door.

Yeah, real mature.

I'd go with the cop route. They may not pull something like a restraining order, but if your local cop shop isn't too busy, they may be kind enough to drop by his house and have a little chat with him in the back of their squad car. Also, I'd contact his ISP and let em know about the harassment/constant emails. That may not amount to much, but if you're lucky, they'll freeze his account.

Barring all that, you could hire the biggest, baddest, most tattooed guy you can find to go down and have a chat with him. Avoid a fist-to-fist confrontation with this guy, because loads of tough guys are complete idiots who think it's noble to fight for the girl they love. He won't quit until he's beaten you down and reaffirmed his manhood, or he's in the ICU.

EDIT: Also inform this delightful young gentlemen that your father could beat up his father.

Oh man....I have a sinus infection from all of the stress that I have been experiencing. Everyday, I have something due until finals week. I am on the quarter system, which has it advantages and disadvantages. Mainly disadvantages if you ask me. My terms are 10 weeks long + 1 week for finals. So, everything is quick and furious. The good thing about the quarter system is that I do not have any assignments due immediately after spring break.

Other than this, things are pretty good. Oregon is dry for once since December. We have received a total of 30 inches of rain since mid-December.

I know how you feel Sci Freak, I'm going through a lot of stress myself. Like tomorrow I have a job interview for a position I really want and right now the waiting is killing me. I'd love to hear either a yes or a no regarding the job tomorrow morning. Well I'd love to hear a yes at least, hearing a no would be very disappointing and discouraging but I think it would probably be better than just the constant waiting. But I'm sure I'll go there tomorrow, speak with the guy then hear the we will let you know about the position soon. And what exactly does soon mean? I know some people take soon to mean we will give you a call by the end of the business day while others mean we will call you next month. Why can't people just be honest? I'm sure the guy will look at me, look over my resume again while I'm there, and then think to himself yeah I can't possibly hire this guy because of his lack of realworld experience. Or at the very least that is what I fear the guy will think. Anyways, after the interview I'm headed to the beach for a few days to get away from all the stress and hopefully if I don't hear something tomorrow, I'll have some kind of message waiting for when I get back.

and Duke, That whole "experience" thing is a vicious circle. They want you to have experience to hire you..but you are right out of college....you have the know how, top grades, good ideas..but how do you get experience if no one will hire you because you have no experience???

I ended up working for a major bank after i finished school with my marketing degree, no one would hire me to do advertising, which was my passion back then. Then, I caved and figured I'd never get to do what I loved and earned my Master's degree in international finance...only to find I was now more qualified than my boss' boss...and stuck under a glass ceiling of jealousy. Now...well. we'll see what happens. I'm pretty happy, but with no experience in the field I love....I'll never be in advertising :ohwell:

Graduating from college sucks! Last week I decided to turn down the only real job offer I've received. And now I'm seriously starting to question my decision. While the job had absolutely nothing to contribute to what I want to do w/ the rest of my life, atleast it would have been a decent paying job but I just couldn't bring myself to accept a job I knew I wouldn't enjoy. I guess I made the right decision but like I said I'm still questioning it. And then Monday, I finally heard back from the job I really wanted and that didn't go the way I had hoped. They told me that they decided to take the position in a different direction and hire someone w/ more experience in data management & manipulation instead of rehiring another data analyst. What really made me depressed was they said if we had went in the direction of data analyst, you were our first choice. And while the guy could have just been trying to BS me, I really do believe I was on the top of their list for data analyst. But they did tell me that if they do decide to add an additional data analyst they'd keep me in mind. So now I find myself jobless and graduating in less than 3 weeks. Life sucks sometimes.

You want to know what happened? While you were studying at college, all the jobs you wanted were taken. Now all you have left is a piece of paper.

Sometimes it pays to be an intern.

But don't fret. My friend has a BA in Graphic Art but never got the chance to apply it properly; there were simply no jobs for him in that field. Then, suddenly, I saw an ad in the paper from this company that were looking for graphic artists. I told him, but he never followed through, and now he's looking for a job. He missed his opportunity.

Keep looking, guys. Something will pop up eventually.

Actually, I worked my way through all those degrees. I refused to have student loans and my parents couldn't help me out with tuition.

What really happened was that I was in a highly competitive market and could not afford to move away (at the time)

KROW...that is not what happened in society. 9/11 is what happened. When that event occurred, a lot of people got laid-off from their jobs so they go back to school to get a higher degree than a 4-year degree so that they can get a better job. So, gaining access to graduate school is hard to come by because the applicant pools are very large and competitive.

Right now, a bachelor's degree in science does not guarantee a good job but one that used to only require a high school diploma. If I stayed with my original route of careers, I would have been a lab tech. So, I changed my route to being a secondary science teacher, which does not pay much but is a noble job.

It's been five years since that happened. Where did you go to school? I live in New York State and the colleges here weren't staggeringly overcrowded during that time. I don't even think ESU was packed. I'm guessing the competitive pools were mostly for business and economics, since the WTC held jobs dealing with marketing and the economy.

Were there really a lot of people vying for a degree in science after 9/11 occurred?

I was in college earning my first degree from 1997-2003. In 2002, I tried to go to graduate school but no one would even look at me. Some of the applicant pools had 200 applicants for 20 spots. I was in Colorado at the time when 9/11 happened. After I graduated, I could not find a job so I went back to school in Oregon. Starting this summer, I will be working on a MAT degree.

Right now, as I type, I'm on the phone with a business associate. If I don't let off some steam here, I might just say some stuff I regret...so I thought I'd share with you all....sorry in advance :)

I'm from Alabama...I currently live in Tennessee. Now, it's bad enough that I am the butt of my office's jokes because of the State I was born in...but this guy has taken it to a new level.

him: what kind of accent is that? (he's from Iowa...and I do not have a very profound accent, though it is there)

Me: I was raised in Alabama

him: OOOOOH! so you have a cotton farm?

Me: no

him: So...are you in the Klan? (VERY offended at this..but I cannot chew him out...I'm half Choctaw...this is not funny to me.)

me: No...*goes on with the business talk*

Him: So...maybe we should get someone in on this deal with more than a 8th grade education....you know since you're from Alabama...har har har

me: hehe anyway...

Him: have you ever been to one of those big cities? bet you'd be amazed at the new fangled technology....

he goes on and on....grrrrrrr

I hate when people stereotype me like this just because I am from Alabama. I think my next call will be to HR.

Ok...I'm better now :)

well, Anarky lessee...

Alabama seems to be regarded by alot of the rest of the country as being backwards and poor and stuff like that. There was also alot of bad awful horrible stuff that went on there during the 60's with civil rights. horrible stuff.

Choctaw is the Tribe of Native Americans that my Dad is...the whole Klan thing...The KKK would just as soon throw a burning cross up in my family's yard...very Offensive stuff

And...I really felt Like going for that guy's throat...but somehow stooping to his level of immaturity just would not have been satisfying. That and it would have been a really good way to get myself fired too. I've had my share of run in's on the street with ignorant people....this just wasn't the venue for that kind of retalliation.

Right now, president-wise, I have no opinion, but whatever yours is, please remember a few things:

1. He's not really from Texas, he just claims statehood there. I don't remember exactly where he was born, but I've heart Maine and Connecticut-- and I'm betting on Connecticut.
2. He's not a cowboy. I'm happy he likes them so much, though.

I'm just clarifying.

Ah, Katie... I know your pain all too well. I was born in Montgomery, and even though I moved away within a year of poppin' out of ol' mom, there's no escaping the stiffled laughter of most folks when I tell em where I was born. There's no denying it either, as both of my parents are proud (as in both of their cars are covered in bumper stickers) graduates of Bama who boast wonderfully melodic Southern accents. It's not so bad now that I live in Georgia, but living anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon (where I've spent most of my life)... oh yeah, Funsville, USA.

It pisses me off sometimes, but then I remember they've probably never set foot in the state and have no idea of the awesomeness of Dreamland BBQ, Alabama Football and MOTHERF*CKING SPACE CAMP!

So, to combat all the negative Alabama hate, I always make sure to ask people like that where they're from and proceed to make snide comments about their state/country of origin. It works.

People have not figured out where I am really from. It is too bad that people on forums cannot hear me speak. I am native to Texas...born and raised. However, I do not have the accent that people associate with King of the Hill. My accent is relatively soft and light. When I left for college, I went to Colorado. People would joke around about me being from Texas. Coloradoans do not like Texans but I eventually got used to it. I told them that if Texas did not win its Independence from Mexico in 1836, then there would be no state of Colorado. Then I went off to Oregon, which is where I am now..Here people still do not know where to place my accent.. some would say Europe or Midwest.

As far as accents go, every time I say I'm from Texas people are surprised and say I can't be since I have no accent.

I tell them "Yeah, I do have an accent. Can't you hear it?" It's best to help people lay the blame on themselves, I find. If a person thinks they're crazy, nothing can stop it from being true!

I'm from Australia, period. :|

Well, today I've had my offical first taste of alchol without realizing it. And it tasted like soya sauce.

The full story starts at the shopping center. I decided to have some sushi, since I felt hungry. My mom coxed me into having some soya sauce on my sushi (it was two rolls, so I used two packets of the goddamn stuff). Near the end, I decided to see what was in it, so I flipped over the packet. There, at the end of the ingreadients, was "alchol -2.5%".

It's no big deal, but I always thought my first offical taste of alchol would be something like chugging down a bottle of beer or wine or something...

*nods in agreement with Doom* Like I said, I didn't feel any different, but I was watching myself. After all, I DID manage to get high on water at some point in my short, miserable life.

Yeah, that's what I thought when I first read it. I've had rum cake or something, and it was good, BUT the actual alchol wasn't in there, since the cake was cooked, leaving only the rum taste. I honestly don't know...

Okay, how tall are you? We if you want us to calculate how "drunk" you were (although I doubt that you'd even get 0.001% blood alcohol = not drunk) we'd need some "body specifications" if you want to call them that.

Besides, 2.5% alcohol is nothing. Normal beer has between 3% and 5%, strong beer goes even up to 12%. Those Smirnoff-ice things as well as all the other trendy girl-drinks out there are between 6% and 12% and those are still considered weak. Pure, white vodka has 40% alcohol, black and red vodka (both pure) are 17% to 25%...

So you see, you could say that your 10ml of 2.5% alcohol don't count anything.

Water intoxication, my good man... hyponatremia. Consuming too much water in a relatively short amount of time can dilute the body's needed sodium and cause a whole host of problems. My dad, an avid runner, was always afraid of hyperhydrating.

Why do I hate my job?

Not anymore though. I don't have the time to take off from work. To make matters worse I've already paid for my badge and the trip. Badge fees are non-refundable. Thankfuly I didn't go nuts with registering for tournaments.

Week from ****ing HELL.

14 hour shifts all week, dealing with stuffy thespian types who think they're so much ****ing better then us. I can deal with that, it's fine. But I'd rather not have to. On top of that we've been pushing 1,500+ people through our kitchen in an hour and a half. That's 16 people a minute, but they all come in this huge groups. It sucks.

Then this morning, as I'm leaving for work, my mom decides it's time to tell me that she's putting her house on the market and that I need to move out pretty soon.

What?

This wouldn't be a big deal, but I got suckered into helping her with bills... so on top of my own I've been flat ass broke. Way to be a parent, mom.

So yeah. I'm in a mad dash to find a place to live now, and get my stuff moved out.

Duke

That sucks about getting kicked out and having no money to move with. I'm in a similar situation, although most of that is my own fault.

Last month, I just spent basically every dollar I had saved on a 2002 Honda Accord, so now I'm broke. But this morning I got a call that I got a job I had interviewed for several weeks ago. I had previously come to the conclusion that I didn't get the job and they were just being jerks about notifying me. I guess I was wrong. The problem now is that the job is about 1 hour 30 minutes from were I'm living now and I have no money to move with. But I'm still really excited about getting the job, so I can't complain. Although, I think I might be traveling 3 hours a day until I build up a few paychecks and that totally sucks.

Okay, here's the low down. I'm 23, and I've not been in a relationship, muchless a date since last early december when my boyfriend of a year and a half dumped me. This, of course, was a major blow to my ego and I have been struggling ever since to get back out there and find someone better. A little over a month ago I thought I found him, he gave me his email and later that week I asked him out... we exchanged emails for a while trying to plan when to go but then he stopped emailing me back.

I'm not just going to keep emailing him, I don't wanna come across as a stalker or anything.

So, I let it pass and decide that at least I had the guts enough to ASK someone. Then, yesterday... no Friday a friend told me that the gang was going to have a party at the Marriot and I was welcome to come AND bring a date. I knew exactly who to ask...

Well, I went up to him and I asked him what he was doing the evening of the following day. He had to work but asked me why, I told him about the party and he was intrested and so I told him where and when and left my number.

Mind you, I knew full well that there was a VERY BIG CHANCE that he would not show up and so... I wasn't worried about it. Anyways, I get to the party and... *sigh*

Well, not only did the guy I liked not show up, but... the only person... THE ONLY PERSON who showed any interest in me was a men ten years older than me whom was drunk. Might I add that he already had a girlfriend.

Let's just say it wasn't a very good boost to my ego. Can I get a man? Yeah, if he's drunk off his ass. >.<;;

That's rough, but like GK said, you gotta hang in there. I know what you mean about guys acting "tough". I personally know quite a few complete fruit loops who act like macho assholes when they go out anywhere with girls. It sounds like you know the kind all too well.

My problem was never getting a girl to like me, but getting a girl to like me that I liked back. Also, getting one to accept me for who I was was really tough. After they got to know the "real" me, a lot of them would think I was a big nerd and borderline gay.

I've never been ashamed to show my feelings, probably because it's mostly been my mom who's been there for me when I was young. Not that my dad wasn't, but he worked a lot when I was a kid, so it was always mom for me. I guess that's why I grew up the way I did.

My obsessions for the nerdy things in life, Star Wars, videogames, cartoons, comic books, fanstasy novels, etc. Led a lot of girls to try and change me into the person they tought I should be. It was pretty rough for awhile. To be honest, about 2 years ago I would have killed to be in the position of having no one at all. No one there constantly annoying me and making demands of me, but that all changed last March.

I hung in there for a couple years, and now I have the greatest relationship I ever could have dreamed of. I'm accepted for who I am and I've never been happier in my life.

My point, life is always going to throw you some curve balls, but hang in there as best you can, because sooner or later life is going to throw one low and fast, and you're going to knock it out of the park.

Katie

I know how you feel about the drunk guy.

After Trent died I told myself I wouldn't date again. It takes me a LONG time to get over someone when a relationship ends...and for it to end that way just magnified things. But about a year and a half ago, I thought I'd test the waters and see if I was ready to date. I started going with one of my friends to see her husband's band play. One night these two guys came up to us and asked us if we wanted to dance. Of course, it was all in fun and her husband was grinning like an idiot as he sang....but then...those two guys actually faught over which one would "get the cute one and which one would be stuck with the other girl" Guess which one I was. I felt like melting into the ground....I never wanted to see or hear another guy again. I was so hurt and after that I figured all guys thought that about me and any guy that seemed even the least bit interested in me was just out to hurt me.

well...two years later and many lonely nights...and alot of patience and coaxing and I have a nice relationship again. I had to stop being afraid to be hurt..and had to trust in honest intentions when I wasn't sure at all what intentions were...but I think things are prety darn good now.

my long point is...Peanut and GK and everyone are right...odds are in your favor that the right person is gonna come along. Just don't get discouraged by all the BS you have to shovel to get to your Prince Charming...that just makes the relationship that much sweeter in the end ;)

all these other i can't get love posts here...

Whadda you do when you really like someone but they don’t like you back?

There’s this girl I know…I mean, she’s perfect…but to her all I am is a friend. She even calls me a brother ‘cuz our families have been friends so long it seems like that. I just wanna be with her. It sucks so much. Sometimes I drive by her house and think about all the things we could do together. Sometimes I see her and I want to stop and make her see how great I am.

And she’s so freakin’ happy with the guy she’s with. All she does is smile and talk about him and it sucks! Even if I did talk to her she’d just blow me off like I’ve seen her do with a couple other guys. She loves this guy and she’s not one to give anyone else even a second look when she’s in love, which is great, but it sucks for me. She’d learn to like me, right? I mean, that’s how it works isn’t it?

How can I get her to like me? Am I trying too hard or not enough?

JameO
07-10-2006, 03:26 PM
She's a taken girl, therefore she aint looking for anyone that way, so you aren't in the wrong, but when and if she breaks up with this guy, you got to get close to her and tell her how much she means to you, that should help alot, and she knows you as a brother figure, so she'll know she won't get in another bad relationship or trust you. But she can't notice you if she's not in a need of that kind of guy at the moment. So just wait it out and hope gets rid of him, I knnow its bad but hey, you could KILLLL him, or just blackmail him somehow, thats all I got at the moment, the kill is a much better plan, but messy!

Well, thing is, love's a tricky little bastard. And everything love-related just can't be easy. You can make it somewhat easier though, but it still won't be easy. If you say that she won't leave the other guy, and you're sure of it, then I'd maybe just wait until they hopefully split up one day, speaking from your perspective. I mean, you can't just go to her and say something along the lines (just maybe add more fluff) of "Woman, I'm here, love me!" no matter how great you are or will be.

From my perspective, all you can do right now is either wait or screw it all up forever. If you interfere with her relationship at the point where she's in utter bliss and he's great and all that, you can't do anything that would not make her hate you. If you ask me, you did the right thing up to now by not making a move. I know, this sounds cruel, but if you really want a chance at conquering your heart, then now's not the time.

Sorry that I couldn't be of more help.

That's not a bad idea after all, but most probably you are going to hear that she really appreciates your brotherly friendship and doesn't want to risk ruining it by some unhealthy relationship.

They always say stuff like that. So, the best option is to wait patiently for her current relationship to break up and then attack, like a crouching tiger...

...unless she gets pregnant with the other guy, like... like...

Thanks Barkworm. The kid's 4-month old now, so I had my time to come to terms with it... but there was a moment I really hated myself for being such a hypocrite - when I openly exposed my enjoyment towards her pregnancy and tried to cheer her up as much as possible - and at the same time I kept on quietly consuming the bitter grief growing inside me.

well....she didn't exactly like hearing I had feelings for her. But I'm making sure she doesn't forget I'm there. I've got a feeling she's going to come around some day. i'm going to make sure of it.

AND...I was driving by her house last night and she was sitting there watching TV...not her normal habit for that time of night...could it be that the rooster has left the henhouse unguarded? Maybe it's time for me to visit her again.

Hopefully I'll have my queen soon.

.... I don't wanna read back and see what happened, do I?

....ANYWAYS... Good News! For me at least:

For the past several YEARS now (try like 7+), I have been suffering with a sub-par computer and dealing with below adiquate internet service. i.e. NetZero and AOL dialup; however, as of two days ago, my family as purchased a brand new, up-to-date computer with high-speed compatibility. Meaning we'll be soon switching to a cabel line or something akin to that and... well, life will be moving much smoother for me. Compaired to the minute or more it takes right now for a page to load up now.

Since I now have a full time Job, (and benifits, yay!), I went ahead and put a MMORPG that I've been wanting to play on hold for when the computer finally does arrive and the cable is installed: World of Warcraft.

Also, this means I can actually scan pictures again! What a Joyous thing! Granted, my art is nothing like what I've seen here, but still... it's my art!

Anyways, compaired to how I was Last december, things are looking up.

asked out this cute little korean girl :) said mom won't let her date... :(
but maybe if i try to earn their trust..maybe

what do you guys think

Katie
09-02-2006, 02:26 PM
not trying to be negative....but proceed with caution. "My mom won't let me" could mean SO many things in girlspeak. (I know I like to avoid direct confrontation alot of times)

Girls think in circles and guys think in straight lines. chances are, as a guy, you let people know exactly what you mean and do not dance around with your words. Girls aren't always like that. Just so you know.

BUT I will say that sometimes being persistent pays off. (that's how I ended up being in love again...my guy was very persistent and put up wit alot of my wall building BS) It's a good plan to hang around...be friends...earn trust....But also be prepared if your girl ONLY wants that from you.

Good Luck!

Katie

heheh you should never give up....you just need the Girl to English Dictionary!!! Here, I'll give you some nice examples and translations:

Girl and guy have been seeing eachother every night for several months. Guy decides to skip hanging out with his girl and go hang out with the guys. Guy thinks this is ok because surely Girl must know by now that he loves her. Girl feels rejected...did she do something wrong? Asks the guy if he had a nice time while he was out. Really means "Did you miss me?" Guy shoud say something to reassure girl.

Guy starts doing this alot, thinking things are ok (she didn't say she was upset with him doing it after all, right?) Girl feels abandoned and like Guy maybe has found a girl out with the guys that he likes better (she does not know that Guy loves her with all his heart...just does not realize the communication gap) When he comes home, she kids about said scenario, "Oh you must have found some cute waitress out with your guys.." and laughs a little." Really means "DID you find someone better out there?" Guy should take the time to tell the girl how he feels about her and no one could EVER take her place in his heart.

Girl comes home from work on the night guy has started going out with the guys. Ususlly he has dinner with her and then goes out. Today there is a message on the machine that he has met them for dinner. not even an In person explaination. not even an "I love you" girl cries all night and decides to go out with her friends and show his ungrateful ass up. he finds out...she says something like "it's ok for you to do that but not me?" Big fight....end of story.

Simple communication errors led to their downfall.

This has NOT ben a real scenario having to do with anyone, but just remember, next time a girl says something to ya, she may just be leaving the door open for you to say something reassuring to her (on your own without being prompted) that's what we like :D

Oh, and guys in relationships: DO NOT take your girl for granted. we won't always be there if we begin to feel like you have something else going on.

Jo Dawn

I could use a tip of your woman wisdom on one subject - what does a girl really say when she claims she desperately needs a true friend (not a boyfriend) and that it has to be me?

That's kind of odd for me, being asked for just a friendship by a female.

Katie
09-03-2006, 09:48 AM
just a friend and it has to be you? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Have you known this girl a long time? Has she had bad relationships in the past?

My first impression (not knowing this girl and her history) is that she wants some kind of commitment but does not want to open herself up to being hurt. OR maybe she really wants something nice with you and does not want to spoil things by moving too fast

Either way, she may be looking at the possibility of more later, but she is not sure about you for some reason. Best thing is to just be there :D

We do need a thread for this stuff....I'm making it!!!!

Yeah and to keep on listening to her depressive rants about life, suicide thoughts and cravings for sex with every single guy on Earth safe me, because she values our friendship so high.

And no, she's never had any relationship in her life. I think all she sees in me is a teddy bear to whom she might talk about everything, not a guy with his own problems.

Katie
09-03-2006, 11:43 AM
see, now that's different.

I would quickly drop a friend who was like that much less a boyfriend. If there's something I hate more than anything else in this world, it's someone who talks about their problems constantly. I have an Aunt that does that and for me, going to visit her is like hearing someone scratch their fingernails down a blackboard. Everyone has problems.

this girl needs a therapist, not a good guy like you.

Oh, and BTW, that is a classic example of attention seeking behavior. I bet this girl has pretty cruddy self esteem. She is co dependent and measures her self worth based on the person she is with. Threats of suicide are a way of controlling someone. I'd be surprised if she would actually do it. She just wants to feel like she is wanted. She wants you to get all upset and try and talk her out of it when she says that kind of stuff.

And that means my position has been eliminated. I was expecting it.....but our bosses did not even tell us it was coming so when we stumbled on the memo on the company infonet yesterday, we freaked out.

we will not be getting severents packages, because they created some Mickey Mouse administrative position (I basically go from being an analyst to being a secretary) for us for the same pay. I got a story that relates to my school day if anyone cares. It happened in my World Histroy class. The dart board referenced is used for normal class time; there's numbers on it and if someone's number get landed on, then the teacher reads a definition and they have to say the correct word(s). If the person gets it right, then they get points for the answer. If they're incorrect, no points.

I finished a worksheet on The Enlightenment about fifteen minutes before the bell rang for everyone to go home. I quickly turned in my paper and decided to hang out with the already-finished kids that were playing darts. They were having a good time and encouring each other. I got to throw the dart once or twice and that was easy for me. As time passed, one kid broke the dart cuz the head got stuck in the board. He had to pay a quarter for it. After that, I looked on a nearby desk and noticed that the pen wasn't attached to the clip board for tardy people. Some people blamed me for it even though I swore I didn't do it. I handed the teacher the pen and clip board, so she could fix it.

One kid went to get a new dart (from the teacher) that he was trusted with. It got stuck in the dart board real quick and he had a heckuva of time removing it. Upon removing it, the board stated to come off the wall. Two dudes noticed that it was secured by screws and they wondered where those came from. :-? I told 'em, "That's how it's attached to the freakin' wall," and someone made an "well, duh" remark. It got worse as it came off the wall -- then the teacher noticed. "All these kids screwin' around...", I commented. She was very ticked off and made us all sit down. Then I said, "What a way to spoil our fun." That caused one kid to laugh. After that, I just stood around and talked with some people.

That's pretty much it. :)

Actually yeah. I dated a girl like that Sewer Bull. And it started the same way. She wanted just a friend to talk to, then more evolved out of it etc. Eventually I realized all conversations were about how upset/depressed etc she is.

Even if you end up with more than "just" a friendship out of it, it will still take it's toll mentally on you. You'll be stressed and grow to not want to talk to her after awhile, because of the stress. I had to stop talking to her completley in my case, which isn't what I Wanted it was just the only way to get out of it.

Well, that's my experience with it just thought I'd share.

Thanks for sharing that, Michi. I had the same feelings exactly. Plus, I'm bored with her weepings and whinings. And when I try to indicate that I have some problems too, I'm called an egoistical brat who wants to go on living his pretty comfortable life. Yeah, like my life was that comfortable.

Like, yesterday for instance. Some of you might have heard that I had some problems with my right eye recently. I thought it's some kind of inflammation, like Conjuctivitis. Well, I visited a doc yesteday and let her examine me.

And it's not a Conjunctivitis. It's a juvenile cataract. Or, to be more precise - cataracts. Because I have it on both on my eyes, tho' the one on my left eye is not that big yet for me to notice it - but it will grow bigger for sure. So either I should undergo an operation or gradually blind with time. Of course it's obvious that I will have to decide on a surgery one day. But my life won't be the same after that. I wouldn't be able to practice any sport at all and I'll have to be careful as hell, because one harder hit in the head might cause me a frigging blindness for the rest of my life.

And I'm just 23 and still pretty active. That's why I'm feeling a bit down now as if something important has ended in my life.

Sorry for that rant but I just had to let it out.

so... random bitching.

I went to a showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show tonight. I put on black eye liner, and since it was gonna be chilly I tossed on my leather trench coat.

I leave there, go to the store to get some eye make up remover and cat food.

When I get home the neighbors are sitting outside, drunk as hell (we live a few blocks way from the UNL campus, we had a game tonight that I'm guessing we won, so 98% of our neighborhood is smashed) and one chick decides to come talk to me... about my roommates dogs.

Now, I pretty much ignore her. She's going on about how she thinks they're mistreated because they're outside dogs. I explain to her that we have three cats.... can't have the dogs in the house. Then she goes off on how she doesn't think we feed and water them... which is crap. They get food in the morning, and at nite, and their water's refilled at the same time.

Then she starts talking about them having fleas, ect. and how it's a violation to not have dog houses for them... when they have other means of shelter.

At this point I need to get inside with my cats food, he's hungry and sees me at the back door. I excuse myself and head inside.

I go into the bathroom to take the eye liner off and I hear them talking. Saying stuff about how they were worried I was going to whip a knife out and cut her, and that I pry had pipe bombs and such on me. Now... yes, I have a full length black leather trench coat on, and black eye liner... but the rest of the clothes? blue "fruit loops" shirt, plain jeans, and neon orange chucks. How this screams "crazy gothic slasher" to them is beyond me.

Now they're in our yard, my roommate's out there talking to the crazy bitch pry making her feel stupid, and I'm tempted to run out there with my Nerf gun.

Anarky

Hahahaha, so you're the neighbourhood-maniac as well? Nice. I know that feeling. With me, they even go as far as to call their children when I'm approaching. Okay, but then again, I might have the Kimveer Gill look a little more than you do. Combat boots, black cargo trousers, T-shirt with some sort of skull on it or plain black, no make up, leather trenchcoat which is of course black too.

So the kids like me and as long as they don't really annoy me, I talk to them. But their parents... that's a whole bucket load of fun. But I noticed a change. I used to be the local satanist, now I'm just the "guy who is most likely to run amok", which is ********, because I know at least three people who'll start shooting around in our neighbourhood before I do. Because they actually care and bother with what's going on around the block. I just live here.

If I were you, I'd make them believe that you're a complete maniac. That way they'll keep a healthy distance. If you want to get along with them... good luck.

For some of you that don't know...this little wolf works as a nurses aid at a nursing home. Let me tell you...a killer job that I do not get paid enough for. It's backbreaking and mentally draining. I work on the alzhiemers unit. (fun fun) So quite often I'm cussed at, spit on, and beaten. It's under staffed much of the time and so I end up with about 12-14 people to get up for supper, then put back to bed before 11pm. I'm in the process of trying to save up money...so this is my first day off in five days and two 12hour shifts.

The supervisors are horid creatures and all the nice people quit because of all the bullsh!t that happens. Great manufacturers think alike, no? :P

It sucks to hear you suffering like that, Stormy. I hope that things will get better :( (But by the sounds of it, that's wishful thinking). Hopefully some more people will be recruited in your sector as well. Keep your chin up and, if worse comes to worse, you can get another job, I guess...

Yeah, I think the mic slot is pink (it is for me). Just look for an open plug next to where your speakers are back there. You'll get it eventually.

Have you considered going to a motel, or the girl's place? Even the backseat of a car could work, though it's old fashioned and might be a little cramped nowadays.

Even when I was playing almost non-stop, I'd at least have the courtesy to vacate the room for a little while if I had a roomate who needed to get some. Being that I do spent so much time gaming, I understand how important such a thing is.

I once missed a raid because my roommate was getting freaky. We worked out a schedule, but he's been rather alone for a while. Oh well. Works for me.

No money, car isn't on campus, and her bed is about 3 feet from the ceiling

I think if I asked him, he would take a break from the game..the only thing is, he has nowhere to go. Like he doesn't do anything, so if I sexiled him the only thing he could do is hang out across the hall, but my gf wouldnt like the idea of him being right across waiting for it to be over.

Er... uh... okay. Um... You could slip the mattress off the bed and place it on the floor, giving you an extra couple of feet of space; unless it's one of those air mattresses...

God, I never thought I'd post in this thread.

Tomorrow I'm scheduling an appointment for psychological counseling. It's through my school, so it's free. I've been depressed on and off for 7 years now. It started in 9th grade of high school. Now that I have a big load of school work, realization of my poor social skills, and my self-esteem is at an all-time low, I believe it's time to get some help.

I just wanted to throw that out, in case anyone was wondering why I've been offensive and judgemental and an all-out prick for such a long time.

Aww...no need to beat yourself up over just being you, Lain *hugs* We are all of different personalities here, from the peverted, to being so young that we need to wait another year for our drivers licence. At least you are doing something about your depression. Remember, a journy of a thousand miles begins with but a single step; you have taken the first step to recovery :)

Uhh. So. My new boyfriend (Ryan) dumped me. I don't know what the reason he gave to me was, I was too busy being in like.. shock to pay attention. But he was all "I think we'd be better off as just friends." He got our friend, Vince, to tell me at first, though. Ugh. But, I guess it's better that way, because if he had done it himself, I would have started crying. So he's all "I'm sorry" and hugs me and sh*t. That happened at lunch.

So I go back to class, practically in tears, and amazingly, I have enough self-restraint to not have a break down in the middle of class. My friend, Steffan, sits beside me, so I asked him some stuff like if Ryan said why he did it or if he had told him of previous intentions of dumping me. Apparently, Ryan said the relationship wasn't moving fast enough. Steffan also said that he doesn't think that Ryan ever talked about dumping me before this, but he didn't listen to what he said anyway because "everything Ryan says is bullsh*t." That made me lol. But chyeah then he told me about how he slammed him into a locker for "having no morals."

Now, I go to my last block class, Science. By now, I don't feel like crying anymore. I kinda just sit there for an hour and a half. By the end of the block, I do sorta feel like crying again, so I'm in a hurry to get home. But when class is over and I'm getting my stuff out of my locker, and talking to my friend, Rachael, Ryan comes over. He's saying, "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry, (Please don't hurt me!) but can I have a hug?" (The "please don't hurt me" was directed at Rachael.) And I'm just like, "You aren't sorry." I'm like, smiling as I say this, though. I dunno. I'm weird. And he seems kinda sad and is like "Fine, then. Be that way." ...But I hug him, anyway, because I like him. Alot.

Soooo on the bus ride home, Vince sits with me and is like hugging me and kissing me on the head (lol) and telling me it isn't my fault. That makes me feel a little bit better. But when Vince and Steffan get off the bus, Calvin, Rachael's brother, lets it out that Ryan liked another girl. Her name is Natalie. When I get home, practically in tears again, I get online and talk to Vince.

He said that he knew about Natalie, but didn't tell me because he said that Ryan said that he didn't know if he liked her in the same way that he liked me. I was sorta pissed at Vince for a little bit, but I got over it. So, we talk more, and eventually, Vince says next time he talks to Ryan he'll ask him if there's a chance he'll go out with me again. Vince said he thought Ryan might, and that's basically what kept me from breaking down for the rest of the day.

So, my friends Jodi and Megan want me to go to some stupid International Night thing at school. So... I go. My logic was that if I didn't go, I would have my little breakdown, and I didn't want to do that, so I should go. But basically, most of the time there was spent in tears, or almost in tears. On the ride home, we passed his street, an I almost started crying. It was horrible.

And when I get home, I talk to my (and Ryan's) friend, Aaron. I told him I got dumped, and he goes, "Yeah, I heard. That sucks. You know why he dumped you though, right?" And I'm just like, "...maybe?" And he says, "He likes some other chick." So, right there and then I feel the most horrible I've felt in a long time. He shows me a picture of Natalie - and guess what, her locker is right beside mine. Great. Though, Aaron is like, "She won't date him. I guarantee he'll come crawling back to you." The sad thing is, though, is that I think I would take him back. Even if he likes other girls... I really really really like him.

I don't know why I'm so upset. We only dated for a month. But Jesus Christ. I feel horrible. I can't stop crying.

That's terrible!

You know....if he does come back...you would be best not to take him...odds are if he likes other girls...he may just keep hurting you.

I went thru something similar around the my freshmen yeah in high school. If you need anyone to talk to you can always IM or PM me.

I hope you feel better soon.

Ugh, boys are... yeah. It doesn't help, I know. But boys at this age are so immature. You are better off, Hannah. You don't want to hear that... I'm sorry. But you are a smart, and beautiful girl. You will get what you deserve, and that is a good man.

Yeah, it doesn't help now... But it will come. If you need anything, you know where to find me. Please feel better soon.

I think you took that blow like a true woman, Hannah. You kept strong. You picked yourself up, dusted yourself off as best as you could and kept on walkin'. Just as a suggestion, but maybe you could take some time away from dating for a while. It might clear your head and focus on other things. You don't need a boyfriend to be happy. Look at me. On the venge of turning sixteen and yet I still haven't been on a date, or let alone been kissed. And I turned out alright!

*gets egged*

Alright, not 100% fine, but you understand. Just take some time away from boys and focus on things with your friends. Maybe a girl's night out is in order once you feel you are over Ryan?

And I agree with Stormy. Chocolate is great for getting over a broken heart. Heck, go for an entire day just eating chocolate alone - Coco Pops for breakfast, chocolate drinks for lunch, chocolate candy bars for a snack, chocolate eclairs for dinner, chocolate with vanilla ice cream for dessert, and possibly some hot chocolate late at night while watching some good ol' TV. And if that isn't enough, try and make your own chocolate drink and name it your own heart healer. You can then summon it later in life in times of dire need. You'll be fine, I'm sure of it :)

Don't use age as a 'time' where you HAVE to have a date by. That always bugged me, I'm sorry. I was 19 before I ever went on a real date (my only 'official' one thus far.) And I was a good 24 years old before I ever got kissed.

I feel this 'timing' thing makes too many people angry. You can't EXPECT to be kissed by 15 or on a date by 18 or you will just make yourself miserable. Everyone's lives are on different time lines. No one is a standard by which others must live by, or face imminent disaster.

Your life is yours, and no one else should tell you when or how things should or should not happen. Things will happen as they should.

It is alright Hannah....I am approaching 30 and I am as "single as they come". Not many guys wanted to date me because I was a nerd and very busy with my extra-curricular activities. Do not worry if you do not get to go on frequent dates.

Thanks, everyone. I think I'm over Ryan, already. Haha. I just needed a day or so. I got over him rather fast, and I'm proud of myself for it. Well, I'm not so proud of myself, actually. I think the reason I got over him so fast is because my friend's brother is realllyyy cute and I kinda have a crush on him. Haha.
And the chocolate thing: I can't really do that. Hehe. Diabetic.

I agree with Jo Dawn completely about the time line. I was 22 before I ever found myself in a "real" relationship. And that was completely my own choice. I had pressure from friends always pushing me to date more or start a relationship with some of the girls I did date, but truthfully I knew that I just wasn't ready for that. It took me 22 years to find someone who I really felt like actually being in a relationship with. And while we have decided to go our separate ways for good now, I have zero regrets about waiting so long to get in an actual relationship. In my honest opinion, it made it that much more special, and she will always hold a very special place in my heart. And to be honest, for a while after we broke up, I never thought I'd find anyone that I'd actually want to be in a relationship with again. I mean it did take me 22 years to find someone the first time. And while I still haven't found anyone else yet, I no longer have that concern. I'll find someone someday, and I'm content with just looking and waiting until I do.

hey hannah, hope you're gonna trash her locker, huh ;)

well last night i went on a boys' night out with the guys from my work (it was my mate sammy's birthday). we all got pretty tanked, done a pub crawl and ended up in a club called espionage. i decided to go home, so me and my mate phil left (he was gonna hitch a ride in my taxi to the casino, the little gamblin' tart.) so anyway, we get outside and the next thing i know, some prat has just punched me in the nose and it starts bleeding. i dont know what for, it was rather unprovoked. (and it wasnt even a hard hit, but y'know how at school there's the fat kid, the stinky kid, the nosebleed kid and all in your class? well i was the nosebleed kid, any little dunt and it flows like a tap!)
so phil jumps on him, (phil's a little guy, but rather fast and not afraid) and the guy tries to run away, but i grabbed a hold of him and started scrapping, punchin his nose a few times...) and then the guy's mates come over (another guy and two chicks) and they drag the guy away, while the girls are apologising to me for their friends behaviour. so that nugget got his just deserts! so we went to the taxi queue, and a coupla policemen come over and start asking us what happened, so whilst wiping the blood from my nose, we give them seperate accounts and our names, addresses, etc, wait around for 5 minutes or so while they talk to the CCTV dudes over their radios, and after they find out what happened on the CCTV, they tell us we're all clear, cos the guy did hit me first, and for no reason. so then i went home!

now, i absolutely hate fighting, havent been in one since i was 15 at school, (i'm now 23) but i aint gonna just stand there and let someone bust my nose for no reason whatsoever... (by the by, although a wee bit sore, there aint a mark on it! only got a wee bruise on my right arm, was he trying to gimme a dead arm or something?!)
