I honestly don't mean to be rude, but is this a thing that seems difficult to spell out? Obviously the intention of the writers and artists was never this was a "black and white universe." Like the Sin City movies or something. I'm positive Kevin and Pete would have run TMNT Vol. 1 in color all the way if they could've done so monetarily. I mean, I'm glad they didn't... I do LOVE their duotones. But I suspect that given the means they were working with in those earliest of days coloring the books would have been like a cost that would seem easily cuttable. And there were plenty of other books at the time in B&W that found their niche.

But then we have other factors. Like, hello... the covers are in color. Are we just to ignore those? Pretend they are nothing? And then we have the specials and one-offs within Vol. 1 that were in color. And the ENTIRETY of Vol. 2 at Mirage that is in color. All the while with color covers.

To strip all of what I've just written and just do a, "Nahhh... Mirage is just a black and white universe" seems extremely insulting to the material to me. I get that certain people enjoy the variety of visuals that affords but... it's not needed and literally makes no sense.
