Anyone else love how both Splinter and the Turtles are younger but still feel like a family?

Splinter is probably only around 35 years old (as Hamato Yoshi), and the Turtles are actually believeable as 15 year olds.

Anyone else think it is strange that Splinter is so tall? While watching it came to me that it didn't bother me as much since the turtles feel younger, and splinter is someone they look up to even more in my mind.

Not really. As a fan of the Archie books, a taller than average Splinter isn't unusual to me.

Okay, so, did anyone catch the van's license plate? It ended in 84, but I think it started with a 5 (May).

Also, there was a hidden Casey graffiti tag in the alley when the Turtles were checking out the surface for the first time.

I paused the preview clip and it says "K8E252R".

The clips weren't the finished products though, so the actual episode might have had it as something else.

I loved the scene where Leo does the hand signals and Raph's reaction. I can't wait to see more interaction between the two.

Definitely worth checking out. I love Archies and I looooove Tall Splinter

I am kicking myself so much tonight. I got busy putting books back from renovating, missed the whole show.... but I'm so glad to see everyone's reactions. After what... three years of sneak peeks(?), we finally ALL get to enjoy the new turtles.

Anyone really like April so far? I know we haven't seen her do much, but a teenage April makes SO MUCH sense now.

In the other series, the fact that she was older always made a bit of sense because I figured on the surface they needed help since they didn't exactly know much about the upper world. (Or like in the comics even though they were entirely capable, she gave them someplace to crash) In the shows context, unless the turtles get all chummy with who I suppose is going to be april's father, that won't happen.

^ The first negative review. I knew it was coming.

The show had a consistent stream of entertaining jokes and amusing scenes. Splinter's, "Everyone above is a stranger!" the training scene, Mike being amused by the hand/eye lights in the store window, Mike getting his chucks grabbed from the robot, etc.

While I agree the CG could be a bit better in some areas, its hardly distracting.

Ok for part 1: Spoiler: I loved the 2D 60's style animation for Space Heroes. It was essentialy STAS!! Leo is such a geek. The picture of Splinter's family isn't in the tree it seems. Instead we have a framed photo of Splinter, Teng Shen, and their infant daughter on a bookshelf. Yeah. Karai could very well be Splinter's daughter if she was an infant 16 years ago or whenever it was he left Japan. I wonder if Leo will forever have a fear of toilets? lol __________________

It is still rather... a little over mediocre to me. The jokes to me were not that good? I only recall bathroom jokes, a fart joke, and a burp? But... oh well. The show reminds me of Kung Fu Panda, but with a darker background drop. The animation, is still not that good. A million and one things could attribute to this though so I guess this is something I shouldn't think about to much? I liked that Leonardo isn't as bland of a character anymore, and each turtle had equal screen time for once. Mike is still an equal of a goof to me as the 2k3 series, which has always been ok with me. Him being the comic relief that is. Some smaller things bugged me a lot, like the pizza scene. That entire scene, and the beginning algae worm scene is just ridiculous considering they are able to get tv, comics, magazines, arcade machines, computer equipment, animals/pets, etc. That is just nitpicking though. The show was just a little above dorky to me. I liked the characters but nothing really else. I am thinking it will get better since this is kind of their pilot type episode, which is usually the worst produced episode of the series. I will most likely not be waiting eagerly for all the new episodes. It is an interesting take of the TMNT it just isn't my cup of tea. Meh.
