Because as someone who loathes them, I thought it was actually funny here. As someone else pointed out, it was just setup for the actual joke of the Turtles staring at this terrible alley like it's the best thing in the world.

I wasn't expecting much, but I really enjoyed the first 2 episodes. Really looking forward to the new ones. Going to tell my friends and nephews to tune in. Felt great having new cartoons to watch on Saturday morning again with tmnt, clone wars, and DC stuff.

oh boy, I was JUST able to see the second part finally...and I am really excited for the future now!...love the action and I must say in two scenes I was reminded on a kind of a subconscious way of the stop-motion animation of films like a nightmare before christmas which was a really nice touch!...I felt that in lets say a little bit of a quirkiness in some of the action scenes.I really enjoy this show tremendously and I hope that those who are griping at the moment for this or that may receive at least a little part of the joy it brings to me...

Icegaze, I also laughed at April's escape attempt. It was hilarious, especially when she was biting on the Kraang, and he just stood there with no change of expression.

I wanted to add that I found the 2d flashback with tang shen and miwa so beautifully crafted!cannot wait to see more flashbacks this way!and the clan crests of hamato yoshi and oroku saki looked very nice, too..I wonder why they were wearing different mons though...splinter just said they used to be friends before tang shen entered their lifes...maybe in this incarnation hamato yoshi was not a member of the foot?comment please on what you think about this, compadres!

Forgive me if I don't believe any of that. But as I said back then I was 5 and I cared more about the action. To me April was just there. Just a friend of the turtles. Realistically I can't see anyone who isn't at least ten having those "feelings I don't understand" for April.

Watching the UK premier now. There's a noticeable cut of Mike hugging the mutagen cannister and calling it "mom". I wonder if they'll keep the reference to it at the end of part 1.

Well I'm a bit late to the party but I did watch part one Friday night and then watched both parts 2 times on Saturday when they played them over and over.

So obviously I hated it right?
The truth is I went in a bit bitter about a few things and thinking it would be dumb based on how some of the people working on the show and people at Nick acted as if they knew their stuff when often they didn't.
But that what just the nerdy fan boy know it all in me wishing I was working on this show. (It is my dream job after all besides working on a Muppet project).

So anyway! I hands down loved it!
It's such a nice blend of everything and the amount of detail put into the turtles and the backgrounds is just breath taking.
I do have to gripe though and say Splinter looks rather stiff and the human character are really plastic looking.

I've always been a huge Donatello & Raphael fan since I was a kid but I think with this new series Mikey may in fact be my favorite.
I do like Don second best though in this even if I can still hear old toon Raph in the voice (Rob really should have did some sort of difference in the voice as it's just way too close).

I love all the throw backs and hidden things I saw like Mutagen Man on the cover of the comic book, the antique shop!, & Casey Tags.

The Kraang are odd and remind me of Mojo Jojo from the Power Puff Girls with their way of speaking.
I saw someone mention that there will be a female Kraang, I'd like to place a safe bet she will be Krang and the leader or Queen of the Krangs.

I am so in love with the comic style flashbacks and I hope it becomes a staple in the series.

Oddly enough the anime influences didn't bother me at all and I really dislike that stuff.

Snake was a creepy junkie for sure and even creepier mutant.
It was also really nasty when he pulled his roots apart to make legs and we could see his old human bones inside.

I really did think his mutation scene was beautifully animated though, for just being done in shadow form.
Speaking of I couldn't believe Raphael was going to dump the Mutagen on him.
I thought that was a bit dark and shows me Raph has a bit of a dark side.
But in the same hand is the old softy we all know with his pet Spike.

I seriously loved everything besides the look of the humans though but I hope in time they will put more detail into them.
I'm also not a fan of April or her Dad but that could just be chalked up to disliking how the humans look in this series (plastic).

Over all a fantastic start and I'll be watching every week like a giddy kid on Saturday morning from years past.

Yes it's science fiction and the FW mutagen made no less sense than a lot of toxic waste or chemcial forumal related mutations in various media but when the TMNT knock-off Street Sharks method for making animal human hybrids through gene splicing (gene slamming) makes more scientific sense than the FW mutagen... science gets angry.

Though I'm not going to lie I always felt the mutagen was a bum deal for any human who was unfortunate enough to come in contact with it. The Mirage ooze seems quite a bit more beneficial. It seems like that might make a human super strong, super smart or some combination of the both. So I probably just don't like FW mutagen out of spite from nightmares when I was a kid and I still hold that grudge. I seriously still avoid watching the Mutagen Man episode it was so disturbing to me back then.

Anyhoo, I loved the first two episodes and look forward to more.

Great action, hilarious comedy and they managed to mix elements from Fred Wolf and Mirage while throwing in some great ideas of their own. They've done a good job not dating themselves and it will help the show stay "timeless" where as the Fred Wolf series use of pop culture and the look of the characters date it horribly though I suppose that is part of the charm.

Just watch the 2 episodes, well......... I thought it wasn`t that great....... I THOUGHT IT WAS FANTASTIC.

I am so surprised it was as good as it was, it was genuinely funny, fresh, and well thought out. I loved the way they used their weapons, and the fact their eyes turned white when they kicked butt.

Snake weed was an interesting character, glad he was not killed off at this point.

Rob was great as Don, and so was Sean as Raph (my mane casting concerns)

All in all, Great 9/10 for both eps.

Yeah, I like the idea of scars for Shredder. It makes him seem more sinister and gives him a motive to hunt down Splinter as well as the Shen backstory as well.
