Mona Lisa needs to be on this show

As with anything else for a new version of the series, if she's done well, fine. If she's not, don't bother.

That said, most people only seem to bring her up because she can be Raph's totally hot mutant girlfriend, which is not well done. That's asinine.

I think the reason for Mona Lisa's appeal even after just one OT episode is that she was the first female character to not only meet but at times exceed Raphael's wit and sarcasm that no other character could match.

This playful antagonism of "Raphael Meeting His Match" seemed to open the possibilities of Raphael finally being on the receiving end of cutting remarks, jokes, puns, etc. and with Mona Lisa being female, it hinted at subtle flirtation as well.

...Because what's more hilarious than a notable sarcastic, know-it-all FINALLY getting all of that same aggravation right back on himself?

I think the appeal of Mona Lisa is the fact that she is the first female mutant. Granted April got turned into a Cat and a Fish Lady beforehand, but Mona Lisa was the first female mutant we met who didn't get changed back into human form. Up till the point when she was introduced every mutant that we ever met was a male. Even in the toy line where they made up mutants to sell figures I think she was the only female mutant.

That is why I have always liked the character because it opened the door to explore having female mutants in the show. I mean there was that chicken lady and giraffe lady in the Mutant Hunter episode, but the only one to get a toy and any actual character development was Mona Lisa and for that reason alone I like her.

In regard to the new series, I don't need a retread of Mona Lisa, but I would like it if there were some female mutants in the show, because it just seems somehow off that its only males who are exposed to the ooze.

I dunno if I'd want to see Mona Lisa in this show. It'd be different if this was a continuation of the original cartoon and we actually got to hear the witty banter between her and Raphael like before, but it doesn't feel right setting her up with Nickelodeon's version of Raph or any of the other Turtles for that matter.

I'd like to see her included at some point. Would be nice to have some female mutants in the show, and another mutant allie for the Turtles. Also, it'd make for some interesting scenes with Raph, and maybe even for some interesting conversations (the one-way's with Spike, and maybe a talk with Splinter...).

I'd rather they just come up with new characters, honestly, assuming they're well-developed. I've also never liked the idea of the Turtles having girlfriends, I dunno. Shouldn't kicking ass and being ninjas be like, priority number one for a show like this?

kinda lost me at 'reptilian mutant babe'. I'd say no for the sake of not seeing Mona with extra scales, spikes, potruding bones, a venom tongue or any other weird whacked-out deformities the mutants on this show seem to have.

That would be kinda interesting. Just don't go overly romantic. I've seen it before and it would be entertaining to see as a subplot here. Say...

April is annoyed by Don and ignores him. Don likes Mona, April acts annoyed/jealous. Don doesn't like Mona anymore for whatever reason. April goes back to ignoring Don.

I don't know, I kinda liked the scene where they thought they were gonna use April as pigeon-bait, Mike was like 'I thought you liked April!' and April quickly said 'yeah!'

Either way, we DO need a female mutant in there somewhere. They don't HAVE to be a love interest. But c'mon... after a while with all these Snakeweeds and Dogpounds running around, the viewers are gonna ask why none of these mutants or accidental mutants are ever female.

Pretty much this for me. There is so much to explore in the TMNT-verse outside of romance, which is absolutely everywhere, I don't see any reason to have to inject it in this series. It honestly feels like it waters down everything else, and takes the focus away from the true threats and their overall tight family unit. Nick is honestly barely behind the line for me when it comes to this whole Don/April crap, I'd hate to see it turn into another brainless preteen romance drama with fight scenes and mutants tossed in. At this point I'd be fine if they didn't even add in any other mutants for awhile after Leatherhead, they've got plenty to keep them going and there's no point in adding a token female mutant just to have her there.
