Karai's Design

Based on this one picture alone I will say that I do not like it compared to previous Karai designs. But again this image doesn't have any context and I'll wait for the episode.

I simply do not understand that hair... at all

If that is Karai I honestly do not understand what is up with the design. I thought this iteration of TMNT was supposed to look at all the past TMNT stuff and distill it into a kind of 'ultimate' version -- but this doesn't seem to be very similar to past Karai designs at all. I am wondering if this is actually Karai or some kind of mix-up.

Well Rat King looks drastically different too so they're obviously taking liberties.

This is defiantly a very different design for Karai. I'm not sure if I like it, or am sad by it. It looks kind of like a hybrid monkey...

She is supposed to look like a young Japanese woman... I do not get that feeling at all. Her hair isn't even black its brown.

I think Rat King's will work since this version is probably more ghostly than a human in bandages.

Karai though, there is no explanation. Even a teen Karai shouldn't look like a chimp with an awful hair style. It looks nothing if what Karai should.

I mean how hard is it to design a young Japanese woman? That's all Karai really is.

Blech, that is DISGUSTING! Dyed hair, ear piercings, a tattoo - she looks like a wolf-witch thing.

Armed with the knowledge that any bad guy besides Shredder is doomed to be a mutant in this show (because for some bizzare reason the writers don't think a normal human is evil enough) she'll probably mutate into a wolf.

Edit: Oh, and look... she's following the latest fashion trend by wearing tight yoga pants.

Miko from Transformers Prime is the most annoying character ever..

Karai kinda reminds me of Miko over here, hope she isnt annoying like Miko. If her personality is nice, i can get over the looks.

My gut reaction at first was,"Holy hell, she looks like she's got a unibrow."

Now... looking at this more, I can understand Some of the elements the design team used.

She looks older than the boys... like, closer to 17 years old. Plus, that pose and facial expression is not the most photogenic look for Anyone. So she's not going to have the soft round face like April... smarmy smart-ass is going to jut their chin out like a jerk.

In the matter of her Wolverine Hair: She's been raised as a warrior. Long hair is going to be a nuisance and probably less of a hazard if it's been cut short. The bangs... probably the only thing to show her as female compared to the rest of the foot when in uniform. *shrug*

If they go with a Leo/Karai love/hate relationship... it's gonna take a lot of hits to the head (or some good drugs) to get him into that love side of the relationship.

My only hope is that we can get some more pictures of her in Different poses...

Huh. I kind of like her design, she has a very sinister look to her. Guess I'm in the minority...

What's gonna make or break this one for me is the voice actress. Anybody know who's voicing her? I didn't care too much for the 2k3 version of Karai (voice or design) but I LOVED the Imagi film version of her.

Totally agree. One of my pet peeves has always been female warriors with long, flowing locks. I think her hair looks cool, but I'm a little biased I guess. I used to rock a chelsea myself (similar style, but shaved in the back) for years.
