I actually will be getting all except turtle variants. Yes, even Spiderbytez.

That was my original intent, but after the disappointment of horribly out of scale figures and minimal articulation on secondary characters, I'm picking up only a select few. Currently in my sights are Leatherhead (even though he's tiny) and a ton of mousers.

Yeah the Leatherhead figure seems more lengthy... I guess that's how they're making up for a lack of height. And agreed, the lack of articulation is a downfall. Looks like he has an articulated tail, but none in the arms & legs.

I'll still purchase them, of course.

The way his legs are bent and his posture make him appear like he is leaning down to talk/getting ready to charge for an attack. I think he would look great with a toy pot of Pizza-noodle soup in front of him.

Hmmm, y'know the more I think about it... Leatherhead is designed quite similarly to Batman's 'Killer Croc' or Spider-Man's 'The Lizard.' There are several versions of each character figure-wise... so, the potential for custom Leatherhead figures is something to think about! 'Cause the more I look at it, I'm liking this Leatherhead less and less.

I think the current "Swamp Attack Killer Croc" available in stores now would make a good custom if you're good with that sort of thing!

Guys. What do you expect? The economy isn't in good shape right now. These toys have a reason for limited articulation. Am I right?

No matter if a character is out of scale or pose little, it doesn't matter. I'm still going to buy these figures. I don't know about you, but I want a 2k12 Leatherhead.

None of us are saying that we don't want it... But there's no denying it could've been done better articulation-wise, which is why I mentioned the custom idea.

And no offense but I don't think the economy has anything to do with these figures lacking in articulation... It's just playmates being playmates and sticking with their roots. If it works, don't fix it seems to be the motto. I'm sure it does cut production costs and makes the process quicker but with all the merch out there, I don't think it's an economy issue as much as it's just something they simply don't deem necessary. I guess we should be thankful the turtles were articulated so well.

Maybe you're right. Still, maybe outside of TMNT, other toys are suffering from lack of articulation (e.g. Iron Man 3). What do you blame for that?

If Playmates are seriously going back to their roots, they must know it's 2013. Things have changed. Kids are not the only ones who want the toys. It seems like a bad excuse, if you ask me. Still, we are lucky that we're getting toys period. Also, I have plenty of toys from my days that don't have that much articulation or paint jobs, but I still love them.

I really wish they'd given him an opening/closing mouth like the original figure, other than that I have no complaints on his articulation.

It's funny, the 4 basic turtles are clearly intended to be a sort of throw-back to the first, original turtle figures in how they were conceived, but with all the other figures it seems like this has been less of a factor. Leatherhead's opening/closing mouth was one of the coolest features on a figure back then. It's a shame they didn't revisit that idea.

Yeah, I'm always focused more on the sculpt and likeness rather than the articulation and action features.

Hmm.. Do you think maybe they have plans for a second Leatherhead of some sort? While I would have liked an opening/closing mouth, I'm willing to sacrifice it if it would have interfered too much with the head sculpt.

I for one care for articulation, but I don't even ask for much just head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, legs, knees and possibly ankles if possible. TO me those are the minimum in articulation and I still would buy a second version of Snakeweed if it meant he's bigger and more cartoon accurate, course the one were getting already makes me more happy than anything has ever made me lately.
