Official Episode Discussion #23: "Pulverizer Returns" - NOW with clips! - Page 7

This episode blew me away. I feel like I haven't been too thrilled with the last few eps but this was just...wow. I LOVE that we get some character development from Donnie that doesn't relate to April. We really see how much he took to heart his responsibility over Tim and even once he was mutated he was still determined to help him. That's just awesome. This is going to be something weighing in on his mind in the future and I'm super excited to see how he deals with it. Not only that but he got in some really badass fighting moves for once too, even without his bo!

And I'm glad there were a few others also slightly disturbed at Tim's mutation. Hearing him scream was really unsettling, and I personally never really disliked The Pulverizer like I know many others seemed to, so I felt really bad for him. It shows just how far he was really willing to go to be just like his heroes, and I don't know if the creators intended for his backstory to be quite so deep, but it makes me really sad to wonder how he was treated to make him idolize the turtles THAT much, that he'd be willing to throw his whole life away just to help them and be accepted by them.

Anyway, the mix of humor and darkness in this was just spot on. I genuinely laughed out loud more than a couple of times, yet the serious turn the ep took still ran smoothly and totally gripped me. This episode was just excellent from start to finish and I seriously hope we get a lot more like it.

Liked the idea where Splinter made them switch weapons, then takes their weapons away. That gives me an idea for a fanfic!

Wow! How fast these episode discussions pile up... I haven't been part of one as it was new in about 8 years! Man, time flies when you're working so much!

I'm still waiting to get home just to see this ep. !! I hope it's not as bad as I've been reading...

I honestly feel this is one of the BEST Episodes so far! I'm really glad they went with the direction they did, and Mutagen Man turned out Better for it.

I also noticed the Turtles totally suck without their weapons. They suck with each others' weapons. And even when they have to get makeshift weapons, they still resort to something similar to their own weapons. In that aspect they suck as ninjas. I know the Turtles are famous for their weapons... after all, people identify with them by their weapons as much as they do with their bandana colors... but still... they're martial arts fighters. They should be able to hold their own without weopons.

Also my girl pointed out how funny it looked how they seemed defenseless without their weapons, and then when they get them they start doing spin kicks and such.... which is something they could have done without their weapons anyways... It's like Leo kicks harder when he's holding his sword or something.

There may have been descriptions that state Tim is a teenager, but to me, he looks a lot older than that. Oh well, I'm having him as older in my fan fic that I'm working on since that's how he looks to me.

I always viewed him as 25ish

I don't have anyone to confine with the show so this was the best place to express how I feel. I plan on re watching it once it's on On Demand.

Yeah... at first it was kinda funny like 'ow... this stuff kinda burns.. does it always burn..?' then it stopped being funny as he started screaming and running around begging for help. Then I realized 'oh crap.... he's not gonna become the Newtralizer... they're gonna turn him into Mutagen Man....' and there we go. Yeah, that transformation was pretty dark for a kid's show.

I still don't know why everyone thought he was gonna become the Newtralizer. It didn't fit. Plus there was never any sign or mention of a random newt running around so he could come in contact with it.

Well did not see that coming.
Like many other I felt sorry for Tim when he change into what will likely become Mutagen Man. He just what to be one of the guys. That said I dont feel that bad do to he was sort of asking for some thing like this to happen.

It be like me what to join the army and never think of all the bad thing that can happen.Plus I can see how he will become a big bad guy next season. He will 100% go after Fishface and Dogpound once Donnie give him a body that can move.

It also was kinda of sad that no one was able to help him. He would run to the Foot Soldiers (and yes I know they are the foot) but they backed away, The Turtles couldn't help him so he was like begging for help.

I was saying from the beginning he wouldn't be Newtralizer but tons of people still hopped on that wagon. They thought because Newtralizer sounded like Pulverizer that was a valid reason.

This wasn't my favorite episode but I was happy that Karai didn't appear I'm so sick of her shes not even an interesting character anymore. As for Timothys mutation I felt bad for him eventho i dislike the character something about it made me feel bad.

I kinda figured that since there was no newt, we the saw Mutagen Man comic earlier in the episode (foreshadowing) he wasn't going to become The Newtralizer. Maybe The Newtrailizer is like an outlaw or deadly criminal in Dimension X, and The Kraang transport him to earth to defeat the Turtles.

I don't know, the end scene still leaves me with a bad feeling. The screaming "it burns!" and "help me!" the scene of Timothy mutated looking into the mirror when Donatello calls his name (trying to calm him down) and he rubs his tentacle n his face and is about to cry. I mean for God sake's I could watch films like Cannibal Holocaust and that **** won't phase me. But this, wow. I wasn't a big fan of the Pulverizer but this really bothered me.

Well, in my fan fic, I was going to have him and his sister be thirty, but I suppose I can bring their age down to maybe twenty six. I haven't mentioned their age yet, so it'll work.
