Everything he said was music to my ears... still apprehensive though. Liebesman hasn't been able to hit anything out of the park for me. It needs to be much better than Wrath of the Titans if they are trying to set things up for multiple films down the road.

I never seen Wrath of the Titans, But I did really enjoyed Battle: Los Angeles which was his first big movie at the time.

the story of that movie was pretty forgetable to me, but i did like how everything looked. considering it was a decent film for his first effort and i'm sure he's grown in his abilities since, i'm really looking forward to see what he does with this.

The thing about Jonathon Liebesman is he really isn’t that bad a director. He knows how to put a film together and how to get good performances from his actors, and I think he’s got a magnificent visual style. However, he’s had nothing but piss-poor scripts to work from. He’s not a writer himself, so he’s one of those directors who are incredibly reliant on the script.

Have you looked for it? I'd wager that the whole thing is on youtube, but as I said before, this person just did TMNT fans a favor.

In all fairness, Kevin seems to react the same way about everything ever. So it's really not a sign of anything good or bad.

That Panel was freaking packed! I was able to stay for about ten minutes and then I had to bail but it was great meeting him there.

I agree with electric_sheep to an extent.

No offense to Kevin, but if he's involved with the movie, what's he supposed to say? That it looks terrible and they aren't doing a very good job with it? Of course he kinda has to go out and say it looks good, that instills the audience with some confidence that the movie will be good so they'll go out and see it.

And about using The Avengers as the bar. Again, what's he supposed to say? "We're using Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer as the bar"? Of course you're gonna hype up your comic-book movie by comparing it to the most successful comic-book movie of all time.

I love Kevin, and while I don't think he would want to come out and lie to us, I understand the position he's in and am skeptical about how much he believes in what he's saying. But then again, maybe he truly does believe in the production and maybe it really will be awesome. We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Fight scenes up to par with The Raid? Now that I have to see in a Ninja turtles movie! I can't see that happening in this movie but if the fight scenes are up to par with The Raid then that would be awesome!

I remember seeing somewhere that Kevin Eastman was trashing the second film, which granted I know a lot of people don't like Secret of the Ooze but I enjoy that film a lot. Granted it is his opinion, but I disagree with Eastman on that. And I can guarantee I'll enjoy that one much more than this flick. That's just a personal opinion though.

And to Kevin Eastman, i'm sorry, but STOP saying "the fight scenes are going to be up to par with The Raid: Redemption." If this film has fight scenes up to par with The Raid, then I will bow to it just on that fact alone.

But Nickelodeon is still a part of this film too Eastman, you really think they are going to have a Ninja Turtles film with fights scenes like that in it?

That makes zero sense. Why compare a Brutal, R-rated, no bull action picture like The Raid with this film...

Especially since all I've seen are characters like Vernon/Will Arnett, Whoopi Goldberg with the Don King afro going on, Megan Fox giving Raphael his sais in broad daylight and in public, and seemingly taking a page from the 80's cartoon.

Yeah, because when I think of the 1980's cartoon I immediately think of action scenes "up to par with The Raid: Redemption".

And Eastman, you and Laird were the ones thinking up that ridiculous "4th Live action film that never was" where the Turtles mutate yet again and get Powers. Like Leonardo could morph his skin into a chrome-like substance, Mikey could project a human appearance so he could talk to other humans, Raph could morph into a creature with claws, and Donnie got telekinetic and telepathic abilities.

Plus a villain called "Kirby" (I mean really, Kirby? Not a scary name for a bad guy. All I think about is that fat, pink puff/video game character).

And yet 'this will be the best Turtles movie ever!'

No, you know what will be? The 1990 film will be the best Turtles film ever.

And yes, before you say it, yes I am judging the film before it comes out. It's not like "oh some poor redneck in Iowa aka me ruined the film cause he was displeased". It's not like anything I say will make the people behind the film go "oh yes sir!"

And also, I hope to not see entire scenes of Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and Whoopi Goldberg just chatting away about nothing. Because, yeah, that's EXACTLY why I should go see a new Ninja Turtle film. For that!

Whew, sorry about that ranting from a fanboy, I'm calm now. Again, I apologize for that. Just to Eastman, don't go throwing out names like "The Raid Redemption" (a badass film) or The Avengers.

Because guess what, The Avengers didn't have folks like Megan Fox and Whoopi Goldberg in a Don King haircut (yes she won an Oscar...back in 1990. Since then she did Theodore Rex and The View...well Sister Act was after Ghost, which I liked. And I do love Jumpin' Jack Flash, that's my favorite film from her.)

Anyway, sorry bout that. Just letting off steam.

He's just expressing his opinion on here, like everyone else. Nothing wrong with that. (Granted, some of the people on this forum do say stupid stuff. i.e- liking the kiddy/childish aspect more in the movies and cartoons than the real gritty stuff in the original mirage comics. That dumbed down stuff only works with little kids)

Sidenote: Eastman and all the other TMNT heads should scroll through here and post here. So they can ACTUALLY listen to the fans and not whitewash and dumb down everything. (some of the stupid fans actually like when they do those two things)

Like has been said previously, if its anything like The Raid: Redemption's fight scenes, which is some of the best fighting ive ever seen in a movie, it could be fantastic.

To sgtfbomb, yes of course I know Eastman doesn't post on this forum.

And there is no way it'll be like The Raid with its' fight scenes.

So let me get this straight...no one else in Hollywood are doing fight scenes 'up to par with The Raid: Redemption' or Fist of Legend (another film Eastman mentioned), but yet Eastman thinks that this film will do it? Give me a break!

And to do stuff like The Raid or Fist of Legend, it would need to be R-rated. Just like both of those were. Not just for blood, but for intensity as well as various other things that the MPAA pick on (yes, even if a neck crack is too 'intense sounding' that's just one example).

And with Nickelodeon aka "Nickel & Diming" still helping produce the flick (along with Paramount) you're Not going to have anything near that.

If the guy said "the fight scenes will be like The Avengers", then I could understand and say 'ah ok Eastman'. That makes sense.

I know he said "Avengers will be the template" for the rest of the film (which again, I call BS on that. More like "The Avengers is a big hit, so let's throw that name out to the fans in order to make people Shout YAY."

But using references to R-rated martial art films, especially The Raid which is one of the best in the past 10 years, in comparison to this film is just silly and ridiculous to me. But again that's just my opinion.

That would be like if Michael Bay came out and compared his new Transformers 4 to Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Anyone else think that it'd be kinda hard to emulate the kind of action from Raid: The Redemption with the those huge ass bulky shells?

We have no clue how the shells will look in proportion to the actual sizes of the turtles or if they'll use the same shell casing for action scene filming.
