You haven't seen ANYTHING tangible from this film except a couple BTS shots and some rumors floating on some gossip sites..
I'm talking before the Nick cartoon came out. When they showed all those early trailers many people thought it looked bad or that the show was going to suck.

Its only after the first episode aired that everyone shut their mouths and realized it was good.

You go to youtube and look at the comments to the very first trailer of the Nick show from 2011....its all negative. Thank god all those fears were unfounded and the show turned out pretty good.

Cubed, he means the movie might actually be GOOD when it finally comes out...

which I personally highly doubt... I mean it might be good as a movie in general, but as a Ninja Turtles movie... I really don't know.

You just proved my point further.. They actually saw a trailer and judged the series from something tangible.. You're ripping this movie without seeing even an official still, let alone an entire trailer.

I'm not saying this movie is going to be great or even good.. But you have to have some kind of patience with these kinds of things before you condemn them entirely.

THIS IS PROBABLY DESPERATE RECAHING... But what if it's a Ducard/Ras al Ghul deal like from batman begins? That would explain the 'no comment' in regards to Japanese ethnicity, and Fitchner would be 'Shredder' right up until the end of this movie, then we'd have the real shredder set up for the sequels.

IDW is the best version of TMNT

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.

That's not outside the realm of possibility, especially with so many franchises these days taking inspiration from Batman Begins.

I could see Karai factoring into a reveal like this somehow. Maybe she's depicted as the second-in-command throughout the film, while Eric Sachs is presented as the reincarnation of Oroku Saki as some sort of cover or something. And then it's revealed that Karai, the true descendant of Oroku Saki, is actually the current Shredder.

That's a bit complicated, and who knows why they'd need to do something like that, but I personally wouldn't mind Karai taking up the mantle in some form or another.

So how long until people learn to shut their mouths before they see something?

Sure, have a tentative opinion or impression on what little you have seen, but like the example you gave above (and countless others unrelated to TMNT), keep in mind that you could always be wrong, no matter how unlikely. Acknowledging that will help you appear much less foolish, paranoid, and arrogant.

To be fair every single piece of news we've heard about this movie so far has caused reasons to alarm. I can even deal with Megan Fox as April as long as the other elements were removed.

Ever since we heard about alien turtles and white Colonel Eric Sachs as Shredder, it has been all downhill from there.

No, if you really wanted to be fair, you would not only focus on the things that you've heard that you dislike; you would also admit that no matter how alarming the news you hear may be, it still remains to be seen how the movie will actually turn out. Until you can acknowledge that little bit, no one will take you see seriously.

And I actually feel kind of opposite about the whole thing. Everything that we found out before production began, was discouraging.

But a lot that's come out since has been fair or better, in my opinion. Seeing that April isn't sexed up was huge plus. The turtle actors seem good - at least the three I've viewed previous work from. Will Arnett as Vernon is plus. Whoopi as Burne is fine by me. The Foot's appearance doesn't bother me.

There are all kinds of bad things from the past that may find its way into this movie, but this white Shredder and Splinter is the only confirmed stuff that really bugs me.

I'm still optimistic about this.

Did they confirm anything for Splinter yet? I assume he's going to be a rat before mutation to avoid a Japanese actor, but have we heard anything else?

On that note, I'm worried there won't be a Hamato Yoshi backstory whatsoever. If they can't use Oroku Saki, obviously Yoshi will be cut as well.

Stormsink said in a video that one if the 'little people' from Jingle All The Way will be Splinter. Don't know his name but I think he was the same guy from Me Myself and Irene. Other than Megan being April which I'm indifferent to almost everything we heard was bad news after bad news so we can complain.

Sure we can have crackerjack shredder be in the movie and leave the real shredder hinted at the end for a sequel.... But then I'd rather not they waste time with Eric to begin with. If the real shredder us saved for the sequel how bout we skip all the bs and see that movie instead?

Whoa! That's my favorite Christmas movie, and I didn't even realize that.

But yeah. That's the guy.

Yeah, agreed. I don't think CyberCubed actually knows what it means to be fair.

This comment alone makes all of your points null and void. Way to be elitist and a douche at the same time, bravo.
Anyway I'm holding off crucifying fichter and the movie execs until I at least see a trailer. It sounds terrible IMO but I'm not gonna throw a little tantrum about it.
I'll just wait and see what happens.

I have no idea what's going on. My brain exploded upon realizing someone's favorite Christmas movie features a guy in a jetpack. No. Way.

I think that the reincarnation bit would be cool and a different take on Shredder. I think the name Eric Sacks is definitely as close to Saki as we're going to get, but maybe he was reincarnated as Saki or was Saki in a previous life. Either way, it sounds kind of interesting and different.

Watch the movie turn out pretty good, and I'm gonna laugh because of all this casting controversy.

Is Eric Sachs supposed to be a play on Oroku Saki? I don't get where they came up with that name from?
