That would be as misleading as it would be insulting to the source material.

So Bay was filming two at the same time? Never followed Transformers so I cannot not say anything about the movies, but wouldn't the studio want to give a solid weekend to a perspective franchise opposed to another one that may not have to come out at the earl May to July 4th time frame? By the end of July only the mediocres are usually held out. I am a little concerned about timing with the releease and yeah it looks like the studio is playing favorites with Trnasformers opposed to the franchise I long followed.

Hey maybe they should avoid all potential competition and just release this straight to DVD?

Maybe they should have just adapted IDW #1-12 and made that into a movie.

They pushed back the release date three times, they don't usually do that to films they think are gonna do well.

Usually, but the earlier delays were production-related (reworking the script, etc.)... this is the first delay that is solely based on scheduling. And it's not so much that they don't have faith in TMNT Part 5 (although I don't, and neither should you) as much as it is slotting it on a date that maximizes the profitability.

Keep in mind that the move puts TMNT5 a week after Guardians of the Galaxy.

We got a movie with a talking anthropomorphic Raccoon that shoots guns, and a talking anthropomorphic Tree. After that, We have a movie with a talking anthropomorphic Rat that teaches talking anthropomorphic Turtles the art of Ninjitsu. I think its safe to assume that the movie will do fine.

Actually, if Raphael was voiced by Will Smith and Mikey voiced by Martin Lawrence, and then it became the unofficial Bad Boys III starring Raphael & Mikey...Then I'd be there Opening Day.

Maybe it thinks it'll have the success of Rise of the Planet of the Apes...didn't that have an Early August release date?

Yes, because a movie with human-faced Turtles, whitewashed colonel Eric Sachs as Shredder, possible alien Turtles, a militrary foot with gorilla masks and Megan Fox as April sure sounds like a winning combination, right?

Don't judge a book by it's cover. Unless you've read it, then judge the crap out of it.

Insulting to the source material? Insulting. Really. How so?

Didn't know that was a week after Guardians. Sounds like they're moving TMNT to help Transformers, not TMNT.

The all-red bandanas kinda hint it would be a hardcore Mirage-style themed movie... only to have the Channel 6 news crew and Turtle Van and other ish.

As long as the movie comes out I'll be fine. That said, this is most definitely favoritism. Even worse that it's favoritism towards a **** movie franchise. Oh well, like I said, as long as this movie sees release, I'll be fine. They've passed the point of no return, so this movie will be released...eventually. It probably won't do well at the box-office, but then again, no matter when they released it next year it would have been going up against something stronger audience-wise.

That said, no matter how this movie turns out, I want it to be considered a financial success. I don't think it failing would kill the franchise, but it wouldn't help it. I'd rather this franchise live with a sub-par movie series, than to have to recover from a big box-office failure. The Transformers movies have, somehow, been huge financial successes thus-far, so who knows. We could have a similar situation with TMNT.

I honestly almost want this movie to bomb so no chances of a sequel can happen.

I hope that one day, when they do make a movie that sticks to the "source material," it's full of Utroms, Triceratons, Fugitoid, space ships - and all the casuals say, "Dag, this crap is ridiculous. Why didn't they just use Krang and the Technodrome?"
