A bunch of them will even give you a free head sketch or something, so I would suggest you bring a spiral bound book to get some doodles in! Most of these guys bring prints (usually 10 or 20 bucks a pop) and original art too (varies in price but is more costly), but several will also be down to take commissions on the spot, or arrange them with you to have 'em delivered to your home the week after.

What about Kevin? Considering the site is pimpin him out as the big cheese and all...

The venue is pretty massive. I think the only thing I disliked about NYCC is they like to put Artist Alley all the way in the middle of nowhere so it's far away from everything else. It also sucks if you're female since the line for the women's restroom is always massive. Saturday was the only day where I found it to be really annoying to get around, if you go on that day you can expect to be huddled together with people the whole time. The rest of the days are busy, but you're not pressed against the person in front of you like you are Saturday.

I combed over NYCC's AA list again and realized I missed a few, so I added 'em to the first post. They are...

Gary Fields (Archie letterer/inker)
Michael Dialynas (Popular for his TMNT fan-art)
Rob Guillory (IDW's #6 Enter The Dragon parody variant)

Yeah, I think you've misread something somewhere dude. That Murphy is Stephen Murphy, the Murphy all TMNT fans know and love.

When I googled "Sean Murphy ninja turtles" a comic book website had him credited as the writer. Their typo, but my mistake for not double checking.

These may come off as stupid questions, but again, I have no Con experience so I'm kinda going in the dark, but should I be only bringing cash to buy stuff like Toys/Comics/Art? Or will these places be accepting debits? Another thing, is getting signatures on the actual comic itself a dumb idea? Does it degrade the value? If so, where should signatures go?

I usually bring cash, but nowadays most vendors accept debit cards too.

As far as I know, signatures do not degrade the value of a comic, and in some cases they will increase it.

If given no instruction, artists and writers will generally just sign the cover of an issue, but really signatures can go wherever you want them to if you ask the creators nicely. Sometimes I like 'em on the front, but often I don't want to cover any part of the art, so I'll have them sign back cover, or better yet, the inside cover next to their name in the credits.

Most places take credit/debit cards. There are plenty of ATMs.
The only thing that degrades value with autographs is personalization, which is your call. I get my stuff personalized because I don't plan to sell it!

First, put a list together of what you want to get (exclusives, merch) and who you want to meet. Then figure out what you want signed most ... be reasonable! Not only will you have to carry what you're getting signed, but whatever you plan on buying as well. By noon on Saturday, it will be VERY hard to get/move around. If you're buying large prints or poster size stuff, bring a decent poster tube so you don't **** it up! I brought only what I could fit into my backpack for signatures on figures/comics

It will look like this by 1pm:

Download the map & schedules, get the app. Organize a plan to optimize time. If 2 things are close to each other, try to schedule those things together. The artist alley is FAR away from the dealer floor (which is opposite side of building and 2 floors up). Kevin will probably be in the autographing room which is also somewhere separate. If you're gonna be on lines for bigger names, like for Kevin, plan on waiting a LONG time. You'll have to factor wait & travel time between rooms and finding things/places as well.

Eat your wheaties, take your vitamins, bring your phone charger, a water and a couple snacks/energy bars. If you're only going Saturday, I'd be there by 8am latest. Good luck!

I won a signed NYCC NECA set from Peter Lairds blog a few years back, and it came to me directly from Mirage. My most prized TMNT item. I'm bringing that to have Kevin sign (and to show him my TMNT tattoos). That is priority 1 for me Saturday. \m/-_-\m/

Updates!

Rick Remender, of Tales fame, has cancelled. I've removed him from the list.

Added Rich Buckler, who did the covers (and a bit more here and there) for the old TMNT Training Manual comics of the 80's. Also added are Tyler Walpole, known for the Villains Micro Series covers at IDW, & Dave Rapoza, whose TMNT portraits went viral on the web.

Michael Dialynas, who I had listed solely for how popular his TMNT art is, can now add the TMNT to his resume in an official capacity, as he is doing a variant for #29. So that's something neat.

Khary Randolph & Emilio Lopez appear to be sharing a table, so that's two 4kids artists together! Twice the fun & mondo convenient.

not comic-related but the event schedule is up and there will will be a panel on the Nick show Friday eve! http://nycc13.mapyourshow.com/5_0/se...ionID=18A8CFC3

Also found this panel that suggests Paul Castiglia (TMNT Meet The Conservation Corps) may be present, though the title suggests it will be Phyllis Novin instead: http://nycc13.mapyourshow.com/5_0/se...ionID=18ABC6C3

Annnd small but noteworthy: this guy David Kraig, listed in The Block attendees, who has made some awesome TMNT vinyl figurines: http://www.davidkraig.com/24451/1395...tom-vinyl/tmnt

Make sure to always bring cash for haggling. Don't be afraid to ask if a resale booth will accept lower than what they're asking. I find that nine out of ten times they do, but only if you're paying cash. For instance, if something is marked $20, offer $15 and let them counter at $17 or $18. As long as your offer isn't ridiculously low, you won't offend them and you can end up saving a sizable amount over the course of the weekend.

As far as signatures go. It all depends on what you intend to do with them. If they're just for your collection and you don't care if they're authenticated, then yea, get those signatures! If you're thinking resale, then you need a member of CGC witnessing the book being handed to you by the artist. You'll then go over to the CGC booth with the witness and pay them to encase it which will increase the value being a "Signature Series".

I definitely don't care THAT much as far as the whole CGC thing goes. I guess I will need to work on my haggling skills lol. On a side-note, other than Kevin being there I was most excited about Gillian Anderson being announced. I will still be paying for it..but $60 for a friggin autograph/picture is friggin gouging.

Yeah some of the signings are reducilous. $75 for Shatner?! (Plus hours of waiting in line...)

On a TMNT note - does anyone know exactly where & when Kevin Eastman will be appearing on Saturday? Artist Alley? The autograph area?

The costs are definitely nuts, yo! Tickets & stuff are expensive enough... Billy West & John Dimaggio are charging $40 each, $80 to have two signed pictures of cartoon characters is total BS. When I went in 2010, none of the VA's were charging. I was excited to see those two, but with a price like that... I may have to say F it.

I got ya covered regarding KE's panel (which is in a bogus turn of events, not TMNT related), and I'll add relevant panel info to the first post too.

at boston there were some scheduled photo/signature ops with a few stars. the dwarfs from the hobbit (fili and kili) were charging $100 to take a pic and get a sig after you waited in a long ass line. i thought they got paid to make an appearance? i wanted to shout, "save your hundred bucks, they get killed off in the next movie anyways!" but out of respect for their busines i kept my mouth shut. back in the day actors use to have a nice selection of photos on hand for $10-20. you buy a pic and they'd sign it for free and chat with you a bit. whatever happened to taking care of the fans who take care of you? i know they gotta make a living but damn. it's just a sig.

if you plan on getting anything from kevin, be prepared to wait in a looooong line. in boston 2012 i got there early and had to wait a half hour, but a friend who got there a little later waited almost two hours i just met him again last week at Fanta which was a very small venue and his lines were still about a 30-40 minute wait (though he was doing free sketches). i was the first one at his table. i got there before he did, lol. he's a super great guy and well worth the wait. he never makes you feel rushed

No, it's on Friday, as stated in 2 different posts in this thread, including the first.

Considering he seems to only be doing this "The Other Dead" panel, I don't think anyone will have the opportunity to meet him, let alone purchase something or whatever. Considering he was the reason I even bought tickets (at a ridiculously inflated ebay price, mind you) I'm pretty disappointed.
