Can we take a moment from all the hating on the episode and talk about how beautifully done the raining mutagen containers were. That was seriously just such an amazing visual... Even if based on the speed and trajectory of the stealth ship it would. Have never happened as beautifully.

Still since it felt the whole episode was about those canisters falling and the start of the mutagen situation story arc. I think they at least gave us some pay off in that moment.

Who needs Mikey to be sensitive when we've got the whole damn fandom being so oversensitive? Pfft. His reactions were funny and I don't see the problem with them at all. Kirby's still a bat, regardless of whether people dance around the issue or not.

It was a really good episode. I'm glad they've set up a reason for new mutants to keep showing up throughout the season and April's meltdown at the end was both shocking and completely understandable at the same time.

It's literally called 'Mutagen'. Do you know what that even is? It mutates organisms. Mutations are some of the most inconsistent scientific reactions - they pretty much do whatever the hell they want!
So why can the turtles talk and have enough focus to be able to be trained in martial arts? Why aren't they random growling monsters covered in spikes and such?

because the mutagen is random :3

Pigeon Pete was able to talk and think and be calm

so the Turtles and Splinter just got extremely lucky XD

so did Bradford and Xever

not so much Timothy.....and Kirby.

That's interesting and I never thought of it until now, but Leatherhead walks the fine line between being a sentient talking mutant and being a mindless monster mutant.

Leatherhead's fits of anger seem to be a result of the Kraang's efforts to try and control his mind. The way I see it, his mutation alone came with his intelligence and personality(like the turtles and splinter)... However, because the Kraang were trying to crack his mind during their experiments to use him as a living weapon("They could not break my spirit"), it's left his brain damaged. His mind is healing though... and he's getting better at controlling it.

I thought the season premiere was great; it perfectly sets up the major story arc for this season along with other potential arcs (mutagen creating more mutant villains/allies, the turtles having to collect all of the lost mutagen, repairing their relationship with April, finding a cure for Kirby, Shredder leaving for Japan, the Foot's dynamic with the Kraang, the introduction to Casey Jones, etc). It's a perfect way to set things in motion, which is what a sophomore season opener should be like. I'm very excited how all of it plays out over the course of this season.

Two average joe's can retain their sentience but a man with a PhD can't? OK....

The way it's been written would point to kids that lying is the way out of a difficult situation, which it isn't.

Eventually April (or ones parents for that matter) would discover the truth and be more disappointed and angry.
I agree. My better half was thinking the same thing as well. Mikey was actually big enough to own up to their mistakes. I was expecting Don to be the one to up and tell her, so I think it was very mature of Mikey to tell the truth. She probably would have been even more upset had they waited longer to tell her. Besides, lying by omission is a very dangerous thing to do period. It is a Very poor foundation on which to build any lasting relationship. So kudos to Mikey.

Yeah, Mikey's honesty is definitely one of his positive character traits. Remember when the Turtle's lost the power-cell and Leatherhead said he trusted they did all they could to protect it? Mikey was going to be honest with him had Raph not stopped him.

Yeah there ya go, LH. That moment really stood out to me too. I'd forgotten about that on top of all the studying I've been doing. Great example.

I don't think Mikey was being the bigger person in this case. I think the writers have consistently made a point that Mikey is the least mature/intelligent of the group. He told April the truth because he didn't know any better and thought nothing of it until he realized it was a mistake.

Sitting here at work I realized this whole story arc could result in the ooze launching turtles action figure designs actually making an appearance in the show. You have the final episode of the arc see a huge outbreak of mutants rioting through out New York and Donatello designing the ooze launchers as a way to distribute his newly developed anti-mutagen (which he used to restore Tim) an contain the outbreak.

Heck I can even hear Donatello say now "the only problem is if we come into contact with even a drop of this stuff (gulp) it's back to the pet store."

I can also see having to use up the entire supply of the anti-mutagen to stop the outbreak as a way to explain away why Splinter is forced to stay mutated and it also act as an explanation for why Dogpound, Fishface, etc. are left mutated as well.

Not to mention the fact that the anti-mutagen is unable to be replicated because a significant ingredient was something Tim secreted as the Mutagen Man.

Well you never know. I'd buy the action figure. Although he'd have to come packaged with the evil clown from Mikey's dream about being a rodeo detective. Cheese demons really sound disturbing though lol. I'm beginning to wonder if Mikey's growing something down there in his room.

I loved the episode especially the part with April being angry at the guys. I like the fight with the Biodroid thing as well.

Is it me or does April look better animated and has more facial range?
