A little took dark but that would an awesome set up to do an adaptation of volume 4 from the Mirage comics.

Probably why they didn't go for it. However, you just gotta love how the guy's constantly pushing the limits of what he can do with the show to make it more serious.

On topic... if dead Splinter is somewhere on the table, I wonder if they'll end the show that way. Or kill him off in a later season?? That could be really cool, even though it pains me to say it. This is hands down my favorite version of him to date.

I kind of want to see as a movie like one of those animated dc movies that you see on Netflicks. Take out all of parts that didn't make sense from volume 4 and you have my money.

Yeah I think he said things were going to get a lot darker towards the end of Season 02. I for one, am STOKED for that.

I like him a lot, though I wish he would be more of a father figure to the guys. More protective of them I mean. Most of the time (at least for me) he comes across like he just doesn't care. Like he is missing that protective father thing other splinters had. Maybe they had to do that cause he is too OP to have him go around the streets with the guys. With that in mind, I really doubt they'll kill him off any time soon. The show kind of works as it is right now. However, since ciro said that he eventually wanted to give the series a definitive end, I suppose splinter dying is a very possible scenario. It really depends on what they want to do. It's all wild speculation at this point.

Splinter reminds me of those hard nosed warrior type father that you would see in a Gladiator movie that tells his son to not come home until he's cared a bear with his bare hands at the age of 6.
