Agreed. That was uncalled for. I'll agree the way that anger was directed was the wrong way.

Unlike you guys, I don't feel sympathy for Ciro. He made those creative choices.

Who April's aunt is should have defined April's arc in season 1, just like who Splinter and Shredder defines who the turtles and Karai are. Instead, we have a case where the series that is ostensibly about substitute parents doesn't deal with the only one of those relationships that features women in both roles and is a necessary part of their main female characters' story arc. Heck, we're more than one season in, and we don't have anything but the most general sense of what Kirby and April's relationship is like.

NO. THATS. WRONG.

april was defined in season 1 by her desperate want to rescue her father. she loves him and truely cares for him. we know that by that being her goal in season one and the anger she has when hes mutated. we can see their close, she stays home with him after being rescued because hes terrified, and doesnt want to lose him again.

and the turtles do provide substantial growth for april. sure donnie hogged some time, but that was for donnie development, and after all, he is 1/4 of what the show is about, so thats fine. We see april as the stubborn determined loyal friend she is. shes not afraid to risk herself for her friends.

with april, the show isnt about "april and her relatives" the show is about "aprils relationship with the turtles.

and unlike some people here, i have no sympathy for the people who feel they arent fairly represented, because ciro is writing a great show, and if youll let a lack of representation ruin it, while the show isnt whats defining societys issues, then you dont need to watch it

More of the characters' parents in the show? Admit it, you helped Bay on the Transformers movies, didn't you?

I'm glad you think Ciro is such a "poor writer." I guess that's why he has a hit TV show, and you have... a tumblr blog.

So Ciro basically said this has already been renewed past Season 3 internally but hasn't been officially announced for legal reasons. Cool cool cool.

Can you imagine how many rats would be complaining about the lack of a rat in the show? I think the fall out would be to great. Especially with all the rats Donnie mentioned that live in NYC.

From hearing both sides of the argument, it's hard to agree with any of you guys but my two cents was all of it was taken way too personal on tumblr and with that being said, none podcasters should taken at fault here. If anything what happened was someone from tumblr took Ciro's words out of context, ran with it like a crazy rapid dog, and now everybody venting out their frustration on the podcasters. I swear every time someone make a well thought criticism on the new TMNT, we all lose our minds. It's freaking crazy! Anyway, I surprise that none of you guys have said anything about how Ciro mention the shortcomings of the show. Of all things, I would think Ciro would get a lot of trouble for mention that, particularly from the heads of the studio. That was kind of ballsy.
