It depends on where they are at in the production cycle. Ciro dropped the nugget back in August/Sept that he just drew a a Triceraton so they're coming at some point. The question is, would he be doing that for S3 or S4? I know they started voice recording for S3 back during the summer but I have no clue at what point the artwork/animation would start.

I really hope this whole thing doesn't affect his vision of the series at all, so he can just keep adding characters, female or male, that fit the story he is trying to tell.

Yes, Ciro was joking about Bebop and Rocksteady turning into women. Man, can't believe this has twenty-one pages already.

I'm also curious about Splinter and Shredder's friendship and wonder if we'll get more flashbacks or stories about it. I really want to know how they met and became friends in the first place.

Honestly, the number of female characters don't matter. It's the quality that counts. I don't care that Karai and April remain the only major female characters as long as they are well developed. BTW, how do we know all of the mutants are males anyway? The squirrels and that butt canon monster thing could have been chicks.

And let's not forget that this show has to remain marketable. I know a lot of commenters are citing the Legend of Korra as a show with gender diversity, but that show isn't selling toys and has an older target demographic. Throwing in female characters just for the sake of diversity is pretty silly business wise.

Last thing. Karai and April were used as love interests to further develop the Leo and Donnie's characters. I doubt stereotyping female charcters has anything to do with it. I think this is what Ciro was refering to when he said Donny needed the crush on April more. TBH, Donnie and Leo have been bland characters and the romance adds something to their character. And while we can argue that Donnie's crush on April may be a bit much, he's the most complex of the turtles due in part to his relationship with April.

And for the most part it's been really civil on Tumblr too.

I do feel like splashing your opinions all over someone's fb wall is bad form (especially when you could just PM the dude), but whatever. People are always tagging him with their terrible fanart anyways, so I'm sure he's used to it.

Ciro's FB is set up to only allow comments from people he's friended, so if people are able to post on his wall, it's because he's let them. He does, however, accept private messages from anyone, apparently.

Both of these things are bold decisions to have made regarding one's private social network, and the man should get props for allowing himself to be open to his fanbase.

Yeah, from what I've seen on FB it's been very civil. Tumblr, eh, some and then some not.

Either way, civil complaints and questions are perfectly fine. The stuff that should never have occurred were the death threats and petitions.
