Oh man, that's just rude. Becca wears it to work but that's about it. She says she doesn't put very much on. I bet it is very time consuming for those who apply it.

That's so true. Some women even look better WITHOUT makeup.

Yeah, I know it was supposed to be a compliment, but it made me feel that the person said it to imply that I'm prettier with makeup on than without it, and that kind of hurt.

People who support more than one soccer* team. I really don't get it - perhaps because I am old-school? You should support one club and one club only. I understand admiring how other teams play football - I admire plenty of clubs around Europe, but to actively support them is just bizarre. I was speaking to a guy the other day who claimed to support Barcelona AND Arsenal - where did his loyalties lie in 2006, 2010 and 2011 when they faced one another in the Champions League?

Does this sort of thing go on in American sports? Perhaps it's more acceptable there due to the less tribal nature.

*I hate using the term 'soccer', it's anathema to a Brit, but I will use it here from now on so I don't have to clarify what sport I mean as you call American football 'football'. Hope nobody I know finds this place and sees me saying it lol.

I'm from Minneapolis, but I live in Los Angeles. I'm firstly a Minnesota Twins fan, but I do root for the LA Dodgers. It's not such a conflict as it seems because they play in different leagues, but if they faced each other (unlikely) for the championship, I would pull for the Twins.

Fair enough. As I say, I always got the feeling that there was a more relaxed attitude to sports in the USA (although Leo656 sort of put me right on that). I guess there would be less stigma over this sort of thing in the States. European soccer fans generally hold those sort of soccer fans in disdain. I don't have anything against them personally - I just don't understand the mindset.

There are some notable occurrences of something similar. In Portugal many people support their local team and then one of the 'big three' - Sporting, Benfica or Porto. Prowler would be able to give accounts of this sort of thing as he is Portuguese.

It's common for some Americans to root for more than one team if they like more than one team in a certain sport. I remember in the NBA when it was still worth watching we supported the Indiana Pacers because of being from Indiana but we also supported the Chicago Bulls because we liked them, too. Now we don't watch NBA basketball anymore, but when we did, it was a good day for us.

In the same vein as math for most people, for me it's accounting. Combining math and tax laws turned my brain into a block of Swiss cheese. It just wouldn't register with me.

And BTW, contrary to popular myth, he always did very well in school. The "he got poor grades" myth came from misinterpretation of the grading system of the time.

Thanks, KROW. I agree that it's interesting that Einstein used it, but he was smart enough to grasp that stuff whereas I'm not because of my learning disability.

And, KROW, I love your Cena sig. That's hilarious.
