I don't know why they decided to change Shredder's name/origin. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised but it doesn't really sound menacing to me, just goofy. Every time I hear "Eric Sachs" I'm reminded of the Beavis and Butt-head episode where they prank call "Harry Sachs". It's one of the silliest names ever.

Are they really from Dimension X? I assume a different planet and the Neutrino teleporter was a way to cover vast distances through space.

That's only on the IDW series. In mirage I'm not sure they ever name where they come from other than 'the Utrom home world'. There were no neutrinos in mirage.

That's what I mean't but I worded it badly. Krang from the OT (if we want to call him an Utrom) is the only one from Dimension X

IMO Karai shouldn't even be in this. She just doesn't work while Shredder is still alive, without being demoted to being a lacky or a relative. I doubt the two even met in Mirage.

why would you buy a ticket to a movie, when you're full aware of it sucking before you even see it?

IDW implicitly mentions the Neutrino planet and Utrominom as being in Dimension X. Not sure why it's necessary to have them in an alternate dimension, though, beyond just some slavish need by IDW to adhere to things that are expected from the Fred Wolf cartoon. It could just as easily be in our galaxy or the next.

In Mirage the Utrom homeworld is never named but yes, it's just deeper into our own galaxy, not in any alternate dimension. The Transmat in Mirage only teleports across space, not dimensions/realities. There's even a big map in the Palladium TMNT: Guide to the Universe that illustrates where the Triceratons are, where the Utrom homeworld is, where Earth is relative to it, etc.:

In TMNT Part 5 Dimension X had been a big part of the previous script and, particularly factoring that we're talking about a production with a modus operandi that has replaced Casey Jones with Vernon Fenwicke... I wholly expect Dimension X is not something that has been written away with.

If they were just talking about previous movies and cartoons and stuff that would be fine by me. But it kind of goes like this in interview circles:

Fans: The script sounds terrible!

TMNT Part 5 Cast/Crew: But the Turtles look really awesome!

Fans: Vernon is in it, and he replaced Casey Jones... wtf?!

TMNT Part 5 Cast/Crew: But these are Turtles like you've never seen them before!

No matter what the turtles look like I think white Eric Sachs shredder will forever taint this film.

This is something we'll all look back on years from now and ask, "What the hell were they thinking?" In fact we're ALREADY asking that.

I hate the name they chose for him too, simply because a white guy wouldn't have a Japanese name like Oroku saki. Eric Sachs screams of whitewashing supremacy. Sickening.

....i don't give a damn if he's white. i'm passed that now. i just want shredder to be a sick and evil bastard. the kind who would keep you in chains. the kind who would brutally beat you on a daily basis, torture the **** out of you.

then prolongs the torture by giving you hints that your love ones are being watched, and anyday, any time they would be murdered, or even horrendously tortured. honestly i think they're gonna give him a nazi origin like in the original script. it irks me once, but he could have a nazi/japanese family connection.

that or he could be an utron alien, like in the 2003 series. those kids who grew up with that will recognize that for sure.

or he could be a re-incarceration of shredder like in the IDW comics.

the possibilities are endless.

all in all....it'll make money. because its TMNT.
Hell...the transformers are horrible, but they make **** loads of money.

we're getting a 4th movie. its making money. and kids will eat it up.

personally i think young kids are the new blood.

i dont bitch about the films. because what movies do is make kids (and teen fan girls) curious of the previous films or shows and will watch.

when i have a child, he'll or she'll watch all kinds of tmnt shows, and movies.
the most important thing to me is keeping the fandom alive regardless of which show that child is watching currently.

My excitement for this film died a long time ago. That's why I have mostly not posted anything opinion wise or otherwise, about it as of late. Yeah, the turtles effects should look good. So what? It may be just fluff. Cotton candy pretty fluff. It deserves better. Yes, It will hopefully make it's watchers more curious about the TMNT, where they came from, who the characters are. That's the only thing I see in a kind of positive light concerning it.
But honestly, is this how I want the TMNT to been remembered and seen by future generations?

They could do so much more with the property if they would just spend some time with it. Not as a quick fattened cash cow, but as the inventive, unique property that it is. There is a wealth of greatness to the TMNT and a richness to it's personalities. If all they are concerned with is making crap loads of money, then why the hell won't they put a more solid effort into it? They would only make more money if they did. And that's looking at it from the greedy view point.

Perhaps they will surprise me in the end. We will know so enough.
