I don't like Eastman's style that much either.....it's just not my kinda style....

I don't know whether it's because I'm a girl or not...but I like the turtles looking more softer and less rough XD....

IDK...it's fun to see little turtles being skilled assassins XD

I like for the Turtles to match the tone of setting their placed in. Like the arc above has a more soft look to it as opposed to Cityfall had a more dark grunge look to it.

To be honest, I like his covers sometimes, but most of his interior art always looked pretty amateurish to me. Like he's not trying that hard.

That Jetpack cover is just kind of ugly to me.

Say what you want about his style, but technique? Skill? The man is a legend. His layouts, the way he conveys movement, the pacing of his action/fight scenes, that ish is amazing.

damn, that cover for the big brawl that Mr. Eastman did is mind boggling! has he drawn Bebop & Rocksteady in a comic before??? I usually only by the one cover I like for each issue and I had been buying all the Kevin ones for city fall because they are awesome, but the last issue I got the RI cause I wasn't feeling the mike swinging with a pizza box. man I cant wait to read the conclusion!

I just recently picked up the TPB of City Fall pt 1, and I gotta say, I love this so far. Also read the Villains micro #1, and all the backstories are amazing! I liked Alopex and Hob the best for some reason, but Baxter's was pretty cool, too. And surprisingly, I really liked Krang's, as well- in spite of how some said it was boring. But I was completely thrown for a loop by what Shredder and Kitsune did to Leo- twisting everything that had happened to turn Leo against his own family? That's as bad as stealing Miwa in the Nick toon and turning her into his own "daughter"!

Wasn't he always? Seriously, though, I guess they just had to make him more "evil" to avoid falling into the trope of cartoonish evil schemes. I mean, if you think about it, his character has sort of "grown up" over the years from the simple "take over the world" kind of villain in the OT, to the twisted and vile b@st@rd he is now.

I would not say he has evolved but had more freedom to evolve. Just look at his early attempts in the '87 cartoo and then how he was more bad@ss without the Technodrome in his final seven appearances. So give him room to evolve and he will impress.

City Fall, now its all wrapped up was amazing.
I can't wait to see Santouloco back on the pages of TMNT - he's back after Northampton isn't he?

Yeah, that's good, Mikey. I don't even trust you with a driver's license.

I definitely hope so. His art has been the best for me. City Fall arc was all kinds of awesome.

Santouloco just seems to bring the TMNT to life, especially the action panels

I used to not like Eastman's style either. I'm a new turtle fan so I read the IDW comics before the original Mirage comics. If you haven't read the Mirage comics, pick up the ultimate collections and while you may never love the style, I can guarantee that you will find a new appreciation for his style, especially if you read the annotations. Eastmand and Laird's splashes and layouts are also some of the best I've ever seen.

I completely agree, I was exactly the same.
My love Eastman exploded with the first IDW annual.
Really nicely put together comic.
Now I'm an Avid colour classic fan!
