That would be great. But only because I want to see the conversation that leads to it.

Where was all this talk when they were doing the Dark Knight Trilogy? Maybe we could've had some venom, or some laughing gas, or like, one cat.

You can complain about that all you want; but it's a valid point. Not everything needs to be super realistic when dealing with this subject matter.

If you're complaining about the Dark Knight trilogy, I think you're in the minority there. Most people enjoyed it - myself included. It was wildly successful, as you know.

I appreciated the "realistic" take on that universe - as there is nothing inherently "unrealistic" about a normal man deciding to become a vigilante and wearing a costume to protect his identity and strike "fear" into people. He doesn't have super powers, abilities, etc.

Mutant anything is a huge leap into sci-fi, therefore the suspension of disbelief is required to some degree.

The movies were good movies, but as a version of Batman, I think of it as kind of a "What if Batman was real" scenario. You have to drop a lot of what makes the Batman franchise cool, in order to make it realistic. Like totally eliminating Catwoman's connection to cats, taking away Bane's venom, not having a bat-themed Batmobile, making Gotham City being just like NYC, Batman's knees going bad... I could go on. But my point is that people accepted those major changes (major subtractions, to be honest), and the concept the the turtles having lips or something to be more realistic somehow appalling.

Fair enough point - can't really argue with that. I loved the idea of "what if Batman was real" - so those movies were right up my alley.

As always, we'll just have to wait and see the final product (the film as a whole) before judging it.

The dark night rises was one of the worst movies ever made! The other two I liked though. I didn't mind the realistic take there but theres no place for it in tmnt. Unless they are humans mutated into turtles.

I don't think it was, in fact i really liked 'The Dark Knight Rises'. I thought it was a really good ending to the trilogy.

Like I get it your opinion but who sets a bomb to go off nearly a month in advance? And he's still talking in that stupid batman voice even when everyone knows its him! I was literally the last on left in the theatre cause I had to see it through to the end. Everyone was leaving. What was good about it besides the vehicles?

I suppose I like the atmosphere of it. It was very grim and hopeless. I also liked how it was about Bruce Wayne trying to become Batman again, even if it wasn't technically possible, like Bruce said: What if he doesn't exist anymore.

Bane's plan was to bring everyone's hopes crashing down, as everyone in Gotham would think that the city was the people's once again, and that it didn't belong to corrupt business men or the police.

I found it to be symbolic in places. The part where Bruce climbs out of the pit and Hans Zimmer's score kicks in, symbolizes Bruce Wayne truly being Batman again. I think that when Batman is talking in his Batman voice even when people know it's him is him being only Batman in Gotham's time of need, and not Bruce Wayne.

Hope that clears some things up for you

I dont think you know what literally means. You expect us to believe that all but one person left TDKR early? Give me a break.

I'm not trying to say he's telling the truth or anything, but people who walk out have already paid for their tickets.

C'mon. If the movie was that bad, it wouldn't have totaled anything CLOSE to that amount. Probably not even a third that amount.

Word of mouth would have caused it to drop sales significantly after the first weekend. In general, it was a highly successful movie that wasn't immune to detractors and people who disliked it (as is EVERY movie).

We're digressing here though - getting way off subject, so I'm not going to debate this with people.

I wholeheartedly agree. When adapting pre-existing sci-fi/fantasy properties, you may as well keep those aspects intact because everyone expects them anyhow. Richard Donner loves to use the word virisimilitude when talking about his Superman film. What it basically means is that if you present something as realistic in the context of your film, then it's believable. Marvel is pulling it off right now. Steve Rogers freezing in the Arctic and being preserved and thawed out decades later is absurd if you try to think about it happening in the real world. But, they went for it and played it straight and no one whined about it being silly.

Basically, if the Turtles didn't have lips in this movie, no one would be writing a review and saying things like "The idea that these guys can talk without lips is absurd". The idea that they even exist is absurd, so why go down that road at all?
