hey, compadre...sorry to break it to you this way but mutation situation is only a single episode;(...I too expected the season opener to be a two parter automatically...guess I was spoiled from season one beginning and ending with a double feature..

Shredder is the kind of guy unable to feel love for anything, or anyone, anymore. He's blindly obssessed with his "vendetta" and there's nothing else for him. Just like Fire Lord Ozai in "Avatar: Legend of Aang", only his obssession was to take over the whole world.

why would he kidnap Karai? just so he can train her to defeat Splinter?? (maybe)

I think Shredder really loved Tang Shen and kidnapped Karai cause it was what was left of her.

I KNOW that sounds crazy......but I'd like to think there's more to Shredder than just vendetta, vendetta, vendetta! turtle soup!!

not saying he's a great daddy...cause he is NOT. Just saying...I think Karai means more to him than we think.

I think he kidnapped her both as a way to get back at Splinter for taking Shen from him and because he wanted a reminder of the woman he loved. Regardless, that doesn't mean that he'll tolerate her disobedience, and she's already done that twice now. If he loved her, he wouldn't have said that she'd be punished for disobeying him.

well depends on the punishment. XD

if it's what 2003 Shredder did to Baxter kind of punishment...then yea...he doesn't love her in any way.

but if it's getting grounded....then that's just a parent doing what they do.

Hm, just realized that since the fungus ep is the 10th episode of season 2, that means only 6 more episodes till Baxter mutates into a fly.

The Baxter-fly sketch had Season 2 episode 16 titled on it, so only 6 more eps till that at least.

I'm looking forward to the Baxter Fly episode but it does suck that we will only get 5 episodes of human Baxter in this series (unless he's in another Ep before 216)

To be honest I'm surprised they waited so long to mutate him. They let him stay human for the entire span of Season 1 and over halfway into Season 2. Sure we didn't see Baxter in a lot of episodes, but at least knowing he stayed human from episode 5 or when he debuted till the later half of Season 2 is interesting.

Every time I look at this Shredder, being grounded doesn't really come to mind when it comes to punishing Karai for going behind his back.

Again, he treats her like everybody else who works for him and only uses the "you're my daughter and you must kill the one who killed your mother" card as a psychological hold on her to get her to do what he wants her to do. She's his "daughter" only in name, but not in anything else. Everything BubblyShell22 said applies to this as well. She may be the only reminder he has of Tang Shen, but that doesn't necessarily translate into loving her as if she were his own.
