This is pretty much true all around for the majority of the internet.
Where exactly is your "all over the internet" because the 1st few postings I found about them had quite a few "These suck!" responses....

Until you show them that poster and then boom. Back to "that's hideous" again.

Did you actually read those before you posted them?

I see your random tweets and I'll raise you these:

I'm just saying some of those tweets were things like ebay auctions...my sampling is fairly random as well.

Oh yeah. Only a fraction of the tweets are relevant. It's just an easy way to see what people are thinking.

Here's a few of the latest tweets in order, only removing tweets that aren't simply links to articles or talking about other TMNT movies.

I'd say "mixed reaction" is a pretty fair assessment.

I've run such searches countless times. Some don't like the look, but people are excited just to find out it's happening. And people really seem to like Alan Ritchson...

Reading those casuals twitter posts about the movie makes me queasy. I wouldn't expect casuals to have good tastes though but I am glad to see the opinion is mixed.

I doubt any of the casuals excited for the movie have followed the franchise in years. Bet they haven't watched anything turtles since they were 10 and don't follow any of the comics or cartoons.

Because that's what casuals do, they act all casual about things but they really have no interest of the franchise. Casuals.

For God's sake. Just about every movie in a franchise is marketed to "casuals" because there aren't enough comic book nerds who'll see it to make a good enough profit. That's why the X-Men don't wear their suits in the films, why Captain America doesn't wear his traditional red-white-and-blue, and why Hawkeye doesn't wear his purple suit and mask - it all looks too "comic-booky". Normal people don't want to see a movie about guys in tights running around (at least, they did't used to; now they're all the rage).

In fact, I'd bet most of the people who go to comic book movies now are, by your definition, "casuals".

And besides, I'd say reaction to the new movie is pretty mixed on this board as well (leaning a lot towards the negative side, though). Dammit, I guess we all make you feel queasy too, CyberCubed.

Yeah, because "Casuals" aren't actually invested in the franchise.

Seriously though, why do we put up with this guy?

It's sad how many of them are basically just "What?! There's a new TMNT movie coming out?!"

Which means they had no clue until a toy fair that there was one even in the works. Again, that's horrible marketing.

It also means the ones who are exciting by the news haven't seen anything or gotten any info to base excitement on other than "I always liked TMNT, so hurray for new movie."

Can't 100% tell what opinion is yet.
