Official Episode Discussion S2 #12 "Of Rats and Men"

I love the use of music from Carmen in the teaser.

When the Rat King returns, Splinter must overcome his guilt and fear of the Rat King controlling his mind in order to defeat his foe once and for all.

It's been a while, but it appears that the Rat King has built his strength up enough to attempt another hostile takeover of Splinter's mind. And considering what he put Splinter through in the first episode, this episode could prove to be even worse...

Rat King really exploited Splinter's past and his loss of family, status, and parts of his humanity. Now that the truth has come out about Karai being his daughter, this is just gravy for the Rat King. This could stir up more images from Splinter's past (I'm hoping), maybe some more glimpses of life in Japan - maybe an explanation of the photograph?

THAT I wish we had a teaser about, not just this ice cream kitty nonsense... sure, Kevin makes a cute feline Frosty, but how does this fit into the actual episode? Does this cat freak Splinter out? Or is it just another 'loved one' of April's that gets mutated by accident? The boys are starting to get a real bad track record...

Pretty sure Ice Cream Kitty is going to have a big cult following.

They packed a lot into this episode when it could have just been your standard villain returns ep, but it was far more than that. Really cool!

P.S. - to those with a Season Pass like me, I think this will be the last episode of this season. "Season 4" (aka Season 2 part 2) probably starts after the one week break we are having now. So get your wallets ready if you are going to continue buying them like me!

It was totally a Splinter Episode!!!

OH! and the animation was just amazing.

And yeah I love how they slip these little horror elements in there, they are very sly about it!

Wow Ciro Nieli wasn't kidding when he said the episode are getting darker. What a crazy, intence, dark episode it was. I'll post my thoughts later when the episode has aired.

This was soooooo good! ICK was amazingly cute! Rat king was pretty scary, and we got to see Irma!

Irma: "Don't look at me, I'm more of a Rat person" -- foreshadowing? * Splinter blind fighting! "Lameanardo" * Ice Cream Kitty! "April <3! And Caaaaaaasey </3" That cat transformation... still the stuff of nightmares. Splinter's meditation, wow, authentic. "You taste so good my little ice cream kitty" OMG he's licking the cat! "This is not helping my whole rat thing" Wow that giant rats on the street sequence was great. * Casey's tricked-out bike! * Love how Rat King names his rats. * Casey hiding his identity from Irma :p hehe instead of "Please kill me" it's "Please give me cheese" * Irma keeps fainting! "Ice Cream Kitty Away!" "Is that April's? C--" "Absolutely not!" "Smell the cheese!" punch * The Unique armona of rat droppings "Ice cream kitty! You're my heerrooo! You taste so good!" * Splinter vs Rat king confrontation was just great, and a nice payoff (if expected). Loved all that jumping through the ruins and Rat King using the rats as a bridge.
