Yeah. We all know that there's zero chance of anything happening there. It makes characters highly unlikable and every time they are together on screen we have to suffer through them acting awkwardly...
It reminds me of Next Mutation where they changed that turtles are not brothers so they can have romance with you know who...

I'd definitely say that April is aware of Donnie's feelings for her. Sometimes she thinks it's sweet he cares so much about her, other times it roll her eyes and just tells herself that Donnie is just being Donnie.

I think by an large she doesn't know how to approach Donnie about his feelings. She loves him in some ways, but she also doesn't want to hurt him by rejecting his feelings. But at the same time she knows that eventually she will have address it.

I have to agree here. How long has he been training? And he sure as hell don't have the muscle mass like he would as an adult, so it's kind of like a roll your eyes that he could defeat as many foot as he could, and keep up with Raphael as much as he could. But this show does a lot of stupid stuff, (like, they got TV and a tree growing in their lair, but yet, don't know what pizza is and lived on algae and worms, yeah, whatever.)

I agree here. April has said things that I would consider showing Donnie she's not interested that way, but wants to be a friend (however, the writers could change this later). I dislike this because it shows obsessing over a girl and feeling that she owes you since you're her friend is okay. It is good for comedy, but I hope the show doesn't end with them simply because Don has been so over the top about it.

Make it seem like she's a friend to everyone, and not just interested in Don. I mean, c'mon, whenever she comes to the sewers, why is it for? To see Donnie. Yeah, to visit the gang, but mostly to see Donnie (and train with Splinter sometimes). She's meant to be a friend to all of them, stop going after 'D'.

I do wish the writers wouldn't write her as rewarding Don's obsessions. At the same time, though, he's put her in a very awkward position whereas she needs to remain civil and keep in contact with them as they are the ones that (in the first season) could help her find her father and in the second season, help reverse his mutation (maybe). She also seems to like and care about Splinter and though we don't see it, it seems like the other turtles are pretty cool with her.

And, yes, I agree that all the hugging and kissing isn't helping (well, kissing). Arguably, though, if Donnie wasn't the "smart" one (ie, if Leo was the one who knew all the scientist stuff), she would just be saying they were going to see Leo. It's bad luck that the turtle with a huge crush on her is also the one with the most valuable information for her.

As far as I can tell, everyone on these boards, including me, have expressed we'd like to see April interact more with the other turtles.

I think there's more relationship between Donnie and April (never been a huge Casey/April fan, always felt too forced to me). But Donny's crush on her seems over the top. Like others have said, it'd be nice if they made it more subtle as 2k3 and the OT did.

What's funny to me tho is that back in the OT days; back in the days of HUGE censorship, interspecies relationships were a no-no. Yet in that toon, there were subtle hints of April/Donnie, April/Mikey, and a lot of April/Leo. Hmm...

Has anyone else considered that maybe, April is leading Donnie on not because she lacks the courage to say no or is a manipulative jerk building him up just to break him down, but because she likes him back? I mean sure; she likes Casey, too, but who says girls only can like one guy at a time?

Lots of people are saying there's no way the writers will end with Don and April together, because it'll offend angry parents, or just anyone who sees this as beastiality. The problem with that argument is that anyone who would be offended by that already is. The sort of people who are really disgusted might very well stop watching regardless of whether April definitely shuts out Don. For the people it doesn't really annoy too much they'll stick with it come what may.
