I enjoy it because I get serious "Phantom of the Opera" vibes from this. The love story that you "know" is never meant to be.

Even that alleged leaked storyboard, Donnie mentioned giving her at some point some kind of music box; which if that board was true, that's a complete play from P.o.t.O. as well, where the Phantom gave Christen a music box, for even if she didn't love him, have something for her to remember him by.

With some people reacting so harshly, I can't help but understand if April's answer ends up being is so "I care about this guy but I'm afraid to have a deeper relationship with him". She's a mutant yes but she looks human and he doesn't. She can walk topside in broad light and he just can't. That would put a strain on any relationship.

Lots of people are saying there's no way the writers will end with Don and April together, because it'll offend angry parents, or just anyone who sees this as beastiality. The problem with that argument is that anyone who would be offended by that already is. The sort of people who are really disgusted might very well stop watching regardless of whether April definitely shuts out Don. For the people it doesn't really annoy too much they'll stick with it come what may.

This is why I said she is leading him on, but doesn't realize it. She's a teenager still, young, immature, naive, hasn't been out in the real dog eat dog world. I'll give her that pass, but, this is where I hope Raphael, who is surprisingly not naive at all to this, calls her out on it, and this is when she's going to have to make her choice.

To the people who don't think Donnie and April will never happen/be end game, uh, while I may not like it, there is a damn good reason why the creators have decided to make April not 100% human, so they can get away with it without the backlash.

I loved the hints of Donnie/Irma! They'd be such a cute pair! They seemed to bond more in the episode "Donatello's Degree". Also, glad I'm not the only one who noticed the Leo/April hints. Interestingly enough, April could care less about Casey in that version (tho he was kind of a nut).

ES, why does it matter that April has a weapon? Splinter was the one who gave it to her, not Donnie.

A lot of shows tone down a main character's crush after a while and it's about time they do that. Donnie's crush is overwhelming his character. I really want to see him live up to his potential. And for everyone saying April is wrong for leading Donnie on...she doesn't owe him anything romantically. That's that "Im a Nice Guy" mentality. Even though its obvious that Donnie is attracted to her, he never made it explicitly clear to her that he is interested in her AND wants to do something with that interest.

Anyway. I just hope by next season this question will be obsolete.

Because he feels he can't.

With everything that has happened to April's dad and April herself, you know just based on Donnie's character that if he told her now during everything that has happened to her would be like he was taking advantage of her when she's vulnerable. Which you know he wouldn't do, which is why we still have what we have.

Casey can get away with this because he wasn't there for any of that stuff that happened and doesn't anything about April's past.

Donnie knows everything that's happened and feels he can't tell her until he resolves everything, which of course by then, Casey and April will be together and it will be too late.

Comparing Don/April to Elisa/Goliath is like comparing Confucious to Lao-Tzu; you may think they're similar, but their philosophies are completely incompatible. Even if the point you guys are trying to make is that kids' cartoons can get away with "bestiality," there's no merit to the comparison because Elisa and Goliath were an extremely well-written relationship. Don and April could've been in the same league, but unfortunately their relationship borders on the selfish and superficial--and I'm not talking about Don being a giant mutant turtle. Honestly, Don's "beast" status is not any point of concern for me because he is so humanized, both physically and personality wise (and I believe that is true for the majority of TMNT fans, especially the little ones).

I still don't see any evidence convincing me April knows 100% Don's in "love" with her. Until she says to him or someone else, "I know Don likes me as more than a friend," then it's up in the air. Regardless, it's not April's responsibility to worry about leading him on. He needs to either get over her or come out and say he likes her to her face. It's better than dragging his feelings out even longer to the point where it's even harder to let go.

I still wonder how Leo thought he had a shot with Karai when both him and Raph said Don didn't have a shot with April...I suppose it's because they think he's a dork and not because he's a giant mutant turtle?

^Agreed (with DarthEmpress longer post, lol. Posts popped up while typing xD). I don't think it should fall solely on April to live her life worrying about whether or not she is leading Donnie on. Donnie is choosing to help her. Unless they have some signed contract or agreement that April owes him for his help and friendship, then she should be able to be herself around him without having to worry if what she's about to do is leading him on.

I've wondered about that, too. No one even seemed to care about him being a turtle but that she was IN THE FOOT!!!! LOL!! That was the only thing they cared about. Besides, at this point, the turtles probably just figure someone'll mutate and like it and stay that way xD Least I would if I were them!

I think Donnie and April is more like Quasi and Esmerelda....

Esmerelda cares for Quasi.

Quasi loved Esmerelda and wanted her to love him back...(and thought he had no chance because of the way he looked)

but in the end Esmerelda chose Phoebus because they simply had more chemistry with each other.
